  1. Come on Pax, send Ben and Thomas, give me back Artest and some benchwarmer, and elevate the team
  2. Pele knows what's up I'm excited for this, many members of my family get real into this, and though I've only really experienced a couple times since I'm younger, I can't wait for June either. I wonder how the match times of 02 will compare to this year. I remember in 02 when my family was over for some occasion, and everyone was about to leave past midnight, but then we put in on one of the Spanish channels and saw Senegal playing and everyone stayed and watched it. It sucks that you have to wait 4 years in between, but that wait makes it worthwile when it comes. There's also the Olympics in between, but they don't compare. Anyways, for someone trying to get into the sport/event, I'm not sure what advice to give, maybe to watch the game live at any level, that kind of helps for appreciation. Also, the event kind of has a march madness type feel to it for me, so it's always fun to follow. Also, I'd recommend trying to find some soccer or European type store around May/June and try and get a schedule. I got one last time at a european soccer store in Schaumburg. Forza Italia! I'm sure they'll be taken more lightly than usual and as hated as ever, but there's a lot of faces on this team that I like (Toni, DelPiero, Cannavaro, Gattuso, Pirlo, Gilardino, etc) and it seems that Lippi is trying to break the 'score first and then play defense/coast the rest of the game' spell. I hope the US also goes through, but it'll be tough with the Czech in the group, and then, they'd have to play Brazil in the next round. But whatever, you never know wholl benefit from crooked refereeing
  3. KW is doing this perfectly, he has position player prospects to replace everyone down the road, and he can use the money to keep the pitching staff in tact (for the most part).
  4. I guess the best move is to trade for Villone or take care of it in house, but I don't think it's as big a deal as some think. I mean, we're not replacing a lefty specialist because we never had one to begin with, both Marte and Cotts fare better against righties anyways. I think Munoz would be good, but if Kenny can get Villone on the cheap (would you be willing to part with Harris or Borchard for him? The Marlins are already overstacked with pitching prospects), then I say go for it
  5. Same thing happened in my league, one guy signed up with 2 names and traded all the good players to one team (it's obvious since the team that traded away the players hasn't updated their roster, their whole lineup is blank and it's been like that for weeks). The rest of the idiots in the league didn't vote against it. I called him out on the message board and he played dumb. Come on, Tim Duncan and Elton Brand for Adonal Foyle and Quentin Richardson? It's losers like this that have no f***ing life who ruin it for everyone else
  6. ESPN is good for something http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/photos?gameId=251204003 (though not as big as the SI ones)
  7. I have the Dell DJ (15 GB older model), love it, though you'd probably have to order it online if you don't mind that
  8. I remember on Gameday when they were talking about drugs because of some player instance (probably Moss), and he admitted how after the year ended the coach would bring them to like some island or forst preserve cabin type deal, and they'd party it up and get drunk and high and all that. Berman told them it took a lot to admit and say that and they almost made out
  9. Americans (including me) are just very homophobic. I used to live in Italy, guys wear pink, they walk with arms hooked together, do things that would be considered very feminine. Then they go home to girls that look better naturally than any American actress with make up expert working on her.
  10. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 01:44 AM) Soon to be 06 too As long as the Browns don't get hot!
  11. QUOTE(WinninUgly @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) I know it was mentioned, but compared to the amount of media coverage the NYY and Marlins rumors were getting, there was not that much. Also, the other trades (Beckett, Delgado) had a few pre-trade rumors pop up, where this one just hit without any earlier warnings. I heard this one the most, I heard NY liking him, but I never heard of any deal involving them
  12. QUOTE(whitesoxownyou @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Other than Frank Thomas, Aaron was my favorite. I am really down in the dumps and I think this really sucks for Rowand. Anyone else down? No, this stuff happens, and he was the most obvious choice of the possibility of one of the players being traded. And I don't think it sucks for Rowand either, he'll still get paid, he still gets his playoff share, and you still don't get any of it. He couldn't hit, bunt, or run the bases fundamentally. He was nice defensively, but so is Anderson. Look at this way, he gets the Sox hatred off from the rest of the media and now actually has a chance to win a gold glove
  13. Going the 'Major League - play so bad they'll have to move us' route, ey?
  14. Do it on opening day, attendance isn't a problem this year
  15. No, leave Pods in left (he has speed, but doesn't automatically make you a great defender, and he has a weak arm). If Rowand would leave, I'd put Anderson there, unless they acquire someone with better defensive skills than Rowand and is a big bat, which would have to be a superstar
  16. When there was a rumor that the NHL was coming back during that spring, there was a post at WSI from a guy who works or is in the know with Comcast to not to expect as many ST games as there was an order to send the crews back already, with rumors of a deal being struck. There are only like 5 away Hawk games this March though, so I don't know.
  17. I hate her, I remember a picture of one of the BEP's concert where she actually relieved herself on stage, with her clothes on, and had a big pee stain on the pants for the rest of the concert, Nasty! I'll try to find it EDIT: http://www.wsto.com/listingsEntry.asp?ID=3...&PT=bookersarah http://blog.biggeststars.com/archives/2005...e_pees_her.html
  18. I love The Godfather I've wathced it sooo many times, have the VHS and DVD collections, book, watch it everytime it's on TV, NEVER GETS OLD. My personal favorite is the first one. I've heard people proclaim the 2nd one as the best one, top notch as well. Spike TV (I think) showed The Godfather Saga, which was cool since they put together the 1st 2 movies and put the events in chronological order, there were also a lot of extra scenes in there that you normally wouldn't seen. As for the 3rd, as others have said, it's a disgrace if compared to the first two, but it's not as bad on its own as some exaggerate.
  19. Pssh, you want equal rights and then you exclude heterosexuals. Gay Games, showing gay pride with gear and parades, hypocrites!
  20. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20051115/od_nm/india_ants_dc :puke (Didn't know if it was posted, search wasn't working) EDIT: Grr, forgot the apostorphe
  21. If they give me f***ing Jesse Rogers...speaking of that 'if you don't have anything nice to say' motto... If I'd guess, I'd say Laurence Holmes I would like to know who will be sitting next to Farmer in the booth though?!?
  22. I liked this deal. The people who didn't were mad about the 'inside presence' that was lost, but failed to realize the defensive inside presence was never there, his game was mainly on the offense (for a quarter or two, that is), and Sweetney and Thomas can score, so I don't think that'll be a problem. Even after losing all the weight, what many felt would be the defining move, he still wasn't meeting the expected expectations/potential (sure, he's young and he was progressing, can't deny that), but throw in his attitude and heart, and adios! The only iffy part was the including of AD, but he's also getting older
  23. Off topic: I wish there would be a CBS March Madness update sound, I would so use that as my text message sound
  24. I would definately want TO here. When Owens puts up the numbers he does, and the Bears' receiving core (after Mohammed) blows as much as it does, you put aside the "cancer" allegations. I put the quotes around cancer since AJ and Everett (and what the Chicago media has done to Frank) shows me not to believe everything I hear. I think this whole thing has been fueled by the media, who loves drama. I could care less if the WR and QB take each other out to lunch, let alone like each other. There would be question to what numbers he could put up with our QB, but he's obviously an upgrade no matter what. As long as a guy goes 100% on every play, then he's okay in my book (and this particular guy is damn good!), the word 'cancer' is overused, as if the stupid comments would do something to the performance of McNabb, which tells me more about McNabb than Owens. A cancer does things that hurts the team directly (misses practice, doesn't give 100%, purposely commits stupid penalties, etc). Don't swallow everything the media force feeds you, an old college friend I know has relations with TO, he's a real nice guy. He's real competitive though, and when he does call out people he just wants to win
  25. Drinking a bottle of Laxative and a bottle of Imodium. What would win? Though I'm not so sure the person would live to see the result!
