White Sox @ Twins 7/28 Game Thread

Podsednik should be benched after that effort. He's a weak defender as is, I think this flip flopping of positions is messing with him. When you're not a good defender, it's not that easy to just move over and get it done. Damn Ozzie, should've just copied the last perfect game lineup for nostalgia. Fields at DH and Quentin in LF = 1-0 lead right now -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 08:38 PM) Ugh, the dreaded "there it is "X", go hold them". I can't remember the last time we won after Hawk said that. Agreed, I know it's just superstition, but every damn time I hear him say that the lead is given up quickly -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2009 -> 07:44 PM) Jenks' 41 was tied with the SP Jim Barr, so I'd guess 41? In Buehrle's start before TB against Baltimore, he didn't go 9, but got an out before he was pulled, so I guess you'd add 1 to the 27 and whatever happens tonight -

Brian Anderson traded to Red Sox for Mark Kotsay

What a terrible deal. Completely a deal for the sake of making a deal and getting Anderson the hell out of the organization -

My cousin's fat g/f has been doing it, and from her latest facebook beach pics, she looks slim and toned (and from what I hear, she doesn't really limit herself from the eating). I have always believed that even if you do old fashioned exercise but just stick to it and try to do some research about what you eat you'd be good to go, but I guess stuff like this is good since it's less boring, may be better to keep you more focused, targets specific areas, etc

The good thing about Richard is that these past 2 starts have really helped any trade value he has. The fact that Ozzie is showing this much confidence in Colon is troubling and I honestly think the Sox feel like they're okay since they have Garcia too. From what I heard his session was nothing special, but of course, Ozzie was raving about his boy

Not sure if posted before: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/j...getting-dumber/ It looks bad in that still but it isn't really that bad. Even if you wanted to, I'm pretty sure you couldn't ever take a ball away from an OF from that spot. I think he was just prepping in case the ball was gone

Stone had this on his Twitter, and is now in a war of words with some guy from the Daily Herald who accuses Stone of making up the whole story LOL

Why are KW and JR "crying poor"???

Javy sucks when you have to rely on him. Javy taking the place of Clayton Richard starts is f***ing gold -

Damn, I'm still pissed about Linebrink. Here's what I wrote on my blog (cheap plug! nah, j/k, I won't link it, but in case you really are interested, just goto mlblogs.com and click the recent White Sox tag) -

QUOTE (JohnStamos @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 08:40 PM) And you were probably complaining when Ozzie left Colon in the 7th. Some times it works out sometimes it doesn't. What do you expect Ozzie to do? Never pitch Linebrink ever again in a close game? In case you didn't realize Thorton walked in a run with the bases loaded. In the one situation where he need to throw a strike he didn't do it. There's no guarantee he gets out of the 8th scoreless. You lost this game because you couldn't execute with runners in scoring position. Not because Ozzie put Linebrink in to start the 8th. LOL @ people ripping on Thornton for not being perfect, especially when he's always brought in with baserunners on, lately all thanks to Linebrink. Linebrink loaded the bases, you don't think that's a big deal? Considering the Sox lost by 1 run I'd say that's a damn big deal and had a big effect on the game -

Man, WTF is Ozzie doing in his use of Linebrink. Last weak Adam Jones homers off him, so the next day, in a big spot, he brings in Linebrink to face him again (and it turns out bad, shocking), Thonrton has to save his ass against TB when Linebrink starts the inning by putting runners on and now again. And now the R/R crap, wasting through relievers like it's nobody's business after a D/H in a close game... -
You could've had Reinsy do it! lol We now know Tony is well endowed, you married up man! Just messing with ya (but seriously, hook me up with some hot friends)

MARK BUEHRLE PITCHES THE 18TH PERFECT GAME IN HISTORY
3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I just ended up buying both papers. The Sun-Times has a nice pic of the catch on the back cover (where the Trib has Buerhle on both sides), but the Trib has a nice little gameday type thing for every TB atbat on one of their pages which is pretty cool (and the Wise catch frames in color in the paper), so I'd say pick up both. $1.50 well spent -

Sox should be called on it, KW had no right to make those comments. Think about it, 2 years ago Buehrle was basically gone until he went down in his demands, Kenny even made comments that the trade was in place and Mark was really lucky that he came down. He had this really angry tone about it too (like 'you all better not rip on me if we live to regret this). That's how we treat a Sox legend?
