  1. QUOTE (everafan @ Feb 16, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) I'm all for it if it involves Steve Dahl. Talk radio is so lame now. I dislike the sports stations because, well all they talk about is sports and I hate hearing about how bad my team is all the time. Dahl would mix in a few other topics plus he's really funny IMO. I miss the Steve Dahl/Ed Farmer exchanges. Mike North - yuck. You and about 5 other people are interested in listening to Dahl. He sucks.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 10:13 AM) scored 4 for each day vs the Cubs, which means some lucky SOB will be sitting in my seats during those games. I got 4 extra for opening day...which were better than my previous season tickets...and I got 4 for the Cubs on friday...didn't bother with anything else. That's enough.
  3. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 10:51 AM) #6 was available when he came up, so it must be unofficially retired by JR. Who was #6?
  4. QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Jan 25, 2010 -> 09:54 AM) Nice haul indeed.... I missed Beckham yesterday because I needed a WS ball signed by Freddy to complete my set. It wasn't overly too bad this year crowdwise, but it still needs to be better organized. Beckham is more popular than Elvis. Based on what I've heard, ours is way more organized than the Cubs. And I got a lot of my stuff because I bought 2 MVP passes...got private session for autographs with beckham and private picture session with Peavy.
  5. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 05:05 PM) SoxFest Video Section - official website. hey...I was in the first video talking to Buehrle...awesome.
  6. Another note about Soxfest...did anyone else notice Mancow having a tea party in the lobby on Saturday? How weird was that? What was with the two people dressed as ballet dancers? Not even joking...it was a weird scene.
  7. QUOTE (BurlyMan56 @ Jan 25, 2010 -> 08:46 AM) Not being judgmental but I don't know how anyone over 18 can stand in line all day for all those autographs/pictures Its really not that bad...you get a wristband and then come back when its practically over. And I am not a big autograph person, except for the Sox...I have a sox room at home where I hang all my stuff.
  8. QUOTE (tonyho7476 @ Jan 25, 2010 -> 08:01 AM) that was pretty tame...everyone was talking about this in line Sunday morning...I missed it. And I had one hell of a haul at the Fest. Lots of signed balls...Beckham, Peavy, Putz, Thornton, 2 Pierre, Danks, Freddy Garcia, AJ and Steve STone. Signed 20x24 by Buerhle of his final pitch of the perfect game. Konerko 2005 WS jersey signed. Photos signed of Bobby Jenks, 2 of CQ, HAwk, Beckham. I think that is it. And I got photos taken with Buerhle, Peavy, Ozzie, and Bobby.
  9. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jan 25, 2010 -> 02:40 AM) Hahaha this is hilarious. that was pretty tame...everyone was talking about this in line Sunday morning...I missed it.
  10. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 03:30 PM) Thanks. I figured it would be on Level 1. My guess would be no, only because they said 1 wristband per autograph, but it would definitely be worth it to ask someone there. Also, they probably use the wristbands to get the right number of autographs per session. (i.e. for a 300 auto limit...they have 300 wristbands) That is just my guess though. Is it difficult to get from 1 session to the other with them being on different levels? Its not hard getting from level to level. Most everything is on about 3 levels...quick elevator ride to the other level. As for the autograph, I have a premium pass, which allows me to cut 2 lines...one saturday, one sunday. So, there are differences, because there are going to actually be 300 regular autographs and then all the premium people.
  11. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 01:42 PM) Does anyone know what floor the Garage Sale is on? I noticed that they spread it out over like 3 levels. It was on one level last year. Anyone know if you can cut a line, with the premium pass, while you have a wristband on for another autograph?
  12. QUOTE (Soxpride724 @ Jan 21, 2010 -> 08:50 AM) How is the garage sale? I have attended the garage sale before at the ball park, is it the same as Soxfest? I think I will be looking into getting a few autographs, although I do not want to waste the entire day waiting in line for an autograph. One item I am looking for at Soxfest will be the original Comiskey Park bricks. I know they sold them at the event in the past, any idea if they are still selling them? The garage sale has old bats, helmets, jerseys...etc for sale. A guy I saw last year bought a John Danks broken bat and had him sign it...thought that was kind of cool.
  13. I went last year...going again this year. I had fun last year. Are you into autographs? If so, then its a little bit of a rat race. Otherwise, the hotel is nice and its always fun to be surrounded by Sox fans. Here is a link to the schedule. Schedule
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 11, 2010 -> 10:05 PM) Au Contraire, good sir. The Cream and the Clear were known to increase fine motor skills, quickness, even vision, along with the other benefits such as improved strength and ability to recover more quickly from insane workout habits as well as injuries. Canseco said in his book how well the roids helped him see the ball.
  15. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 12, 2010 -> 10:26 AM) He continues to lie. He only used them to recover from injuries? BS! In 1997, 1998, and 1999 he played at least 153 games. THat includes 1998 when he hit 70 homers and.... was on ANDRO! Exactly...so ridiculous...only for injuries? He was pretty swollen back in the bash brothers day.
  16. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 11, 2010 -> 03:35 PM) How did cheaters of today make the HOF irrelevant when it has been accepting cheaters for years? Who cheated first: Gaylord Perry Big Mac Barry Bonds Which of them is in the HOF? The saddest chapter in baseball is the current chapter where people have evolved this "holier than thou" attitude, and forget that the Hall if filed with cheaters from all eras, and that baseball needed a few scapegoats to cover up the fact that everyone was cheating. Either ban all cheaters, or ban no cheaters. I never understand this comparison...Bonds and McGwire were committing crimes. Its different, no?
  17. Dear God... NJ police say self-inflicted stab wounds put Stern sidekick Artie Lange in hospital Associated Press Last update: January 8, 2010 - 10:17 AM HOBOKEN, N.J. - Police say self-inflicted stab wounds put Howard Stern sidekick Artie Lange in a New Jersey hospital. Hoboken Police Detective Mark Competello says Lange's mother found him on the floor of his waterfront home on Saturday. Competello says the 42-year-old comedian was unconscious but breathing after stabbing himself with a 13-inch Wolfgang Puck kitchen knife. Lange was taken to Jersey City Medical Center. Competello says doctors cleaned nine abdominal knife wounds and operated. He says Lange has been released. A message was left for Lange's publicist. Stern has spoken of the suicide attempt and said his thoughts are with Lange's mother and sister. Lange's lost driving privileges after admitting he was under the influence of sleeping pills in a minor traffic accident.
  18. North Riverside/Riverside area is close to the Metra...close to 290 and 55 for getting to Sox games (20 minutes)...and you can get a solid place under $300k...with some of the lowest taxes in cook county...thanks to our mall. You would want to live on the west side of town...where the streets are numbered 2nd through 17th. And if you stayed...Riverside Brookfield is a top public high school...
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 12:33 PM) 3B side is sick. Great hotdog stand at the top of the ramp, BBQ beef and pork right there, and right off of the new gate that they just built. I think this is where I sat for the 2005 postseason...very excited...
  20. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 11:55 AM) I hear ya, my old rep always tried moving me up a row, he didnt understand that all I cared about was sections closer to the plate. I would rather be in the last row in 144 than in the front row in 150. When we switched sides of the field from 115 to 150, the process was so painful. I told my ticket rep exactly what I wanted, for two years in a row...and the notes I was read were wrong yesterday. Oh well, got it done. I'm going to enjoy this new seating arrangement.
  21. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 10:50 AM) This doesnt surprise me in the least. I've had him on my OD/Suicide list for a long time. I've always thougt his end would not be pretty...but to stab yourself is pretty f'd up. Plunging a knife into yourself 9 times, 3 times deeply, is pretty f'd up. You have to be in a dark place to put yourself through that kind of pain.
  22. I'm going for the first time this year...the 19th and 20th...already thinking of getting blackhawks tickets for the 20th...anyway, what's the best hotel to stay at? Any thoughts on a must see place or restaurant?
  23. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 7, 2010 -> 09:17 AM) Somebody must have made him sit and watch Beer League and he couldn't take it. I'm pretty sure that comment from me, would have gotten me banned again.
  24. ARtie Lange, for those stern fans out there, apparently tried to kill himself last week, and that is why he was in the hospital. Linky
