  1. QUOTE(IndplsSoxFan @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) That's what I'm talking about. The management should do something to fill those seats. I does look bad on TV, especially when we're playing the Twins. In order to increase our fanbase (or even interest), it has to at least appear desirable to others. Steff, thanks for the welcome. Welcome as well! And you'll be hearing a lot from Steff! She's like the Queen Bee, Mother Hen, whatever the hell you want to call it, of this board.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 02:33 PM) Is a moron. He's on Dan Patrick right now.. s***ting on Jose again.. defending Mark. :rolly I like Tony, so I'm a little dissappointed he didn't stop the support of MArk after his terrible congressional appearance. Time for Tony to seperate himself from the ass-clown! And its easy to s*** on Jose...he's a snitch and an ass. And I read the book. Its funny, Jose completely endorsed steroid use, until he had to talk in front of congress...now he doesn't support it. Whatever, I bet he still uses them.
  3. QUOTE(beck72 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 05:58 AM) As founding member of the Joe Crede support group, I hereby call for all "Crede" jerseys to be unpacked from storage. Now that his hit streak has been extended to 10 games, and his avg is up over .270, jerseys should not be taken off until his hit streak ends, or his avg dips below .270. We might need to start the 'Jermaine Dye Support Group' and 'Juan Uribe Support Group'....these guys are really struggling...except for that laser beam of Juan's. Holy s*** does he have a gun.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) Kids are still in school.. and not all college students can drive 2 hours each way.. It will fill up. It always does.. Yeah, I forgot about that stuff. People missed out on monday. The atmosphere was electric. I was in left...and the bathrooms got rowdy (verbally only), due to Flub Fans. And in another bathroom, a guy with a Torrii Hunter jersey got escorted out by Sox fans...not violently, but in a fun way. I had a f***ing blast. We screamed all the way down the ramps and I lost my voice. It was great. Plus I drank too much and skipped work yesterday
  5. Keep it up Joe...we're all pulling for ya.
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:26 AM) Wrong. And it's not $175, it's $170 and it includes parking and all you can eat and drink. Complaining about the park not being filled... :rolly How many games you been to so far..?? I will say this, I was a little dissappointed in the turnout for monday and tuesday. I thought more people would show up for the 'showdown'...oh well. Plus the weather was so awesome.
  7. I plan on getting tickets to 1 game. I think it will be kick ass. I think the Sox will end up re-evaluating these seats and prices will have to drop or changes will need to be made. They can't have all those seats empty. Maybe they'll do some sort of packaging thing.
  8. The Tigers are getting cocky...for whatever reason...time to show them who is boss. And remember, we struggled at this homer haven, but now we have a team that scores in various ways...so look out 'D-Town'...whatever the f***. s***hole of the Midwest, here we come!
  9. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Apr 19, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) 105.9 WCKG the Package.... thats ur best alternative. That's the way to start the day, no doubt....Howard rules! And Mike North is just absolutely dumb. Why would you have a dog bark when a first time caller calls in? He's a f***ing hot dog stand owner....turned sports commentator....makes sense to me.
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) WCIU doesn't air in HD so it sucks. The CSNHD and WGNHD are beautiful, it's about time WCIU caught on. HD? About f***ing ND (normal defintion)? They have the worst f***ing picture quality...thank God I'll be there. Good luck suckers!
  11. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) I think we were doing ok until the 84 season. After that it was all over. The Cubs then became the only game in town. Kids back then are now into their 30s. When we came home from school the Cubs were on. Most kids watched them and then went to play baseball or fast pitch or something. The Cubs basically had this town all to themselves because they had channel 9 WGN Superstation, while the White Sox went to Sportsvision, which you had to pay extra on cable. Cubs were free to watch and the White Sox were more money? Who are going to gain more fans? I blame WGN for the change in the city from White Sox to Cubs. This not only hurt us in and around the city, but nation wide. If we were on WGN instead of the Cubs we would have a ton more fans. People all over the country know the Cubs because of that damn station. As soon as we went from WGN to Sportsvision it was over. That is where I think it all went wrong. This definately seems to be the recurring theme...makes a lot of sense to me.
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) That hurt way more than HC in my opinion.. but I do hear a lot of people blaming his firing for lack of fans.. I was just curious. I'm 28...so I don't remember much before the mid to late 80s...but a lot of those things mentioned sure would make sense to me. If the Sox were moved to a channel that couldn't be received well, I'm sure it hurt viewing and hence building a fan base. And Harry was a beloved character, so I could see some people being pissed....although it wouldn't make me change teams. Don't get any ideas Hawk!
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) The twins know that contreras is going to lean on his fastball early in the game. I see them jumping all over him in the first inning as he gets knocked around then walks several as he goes to his fork. I see an early exit for Mr contreras tonight Ouch...better not or I'm running on the field nekked!
  14. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 02:57 PM) We're gonna need all hands on deck for these guys. Throw everything we've got at em and win 2 here. I like that... ALL HANDS ON DECK! Here's to a 2 game sweep!
  15. I stopped going after they threw that world series...that was it for me.
  16. Pods tonight...2-5, 2 SB, 1 Run, 1 RBI
  17. I'll be there and hopefully Mr. Contreras brings his 'A' game. Lets go Jose! Rah f***ing rah!
  18. QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) Why do we ever care about this? Home field advantage...plus it makes it more fun for everyone else there. Bigger crowd=bigger excitement.
  19. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) I know when I played it wasn't that hardcore... then again my HS team always sucked ass.... Texas football is a whole different animal. I've never lived there, but I've heard and seen plenty about it. These people eat, live and breath this s***.
  20. QUOTE(soxfan420 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 09:29 AM) i know crede has it in him, he has 2 learning seasons under his belt and will finially put his doubters to rest. Where do you want that $1000 sent to? Oh, that's right, no bet.
  21. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) If it was away from kids, like in the bullpen bar, then maybe. But not near FUNdamentals. What, kids don't like wet t-shirt contests?
  22. I don't understand why this movie was so highly rated...I didn't find it all that good. I do think it portrayed the football situation pretty accurately though.
  23. July 4th 1976... U.S....Starland Vocal Band...Afternoon Delight U.K....You to Me are Everything...The Real Thing At least I know the US one...although it sucked.
  24. I'll reevalute it tonight before the Sox slam the Twins.
  25. Is this also an indictment on a lot of southern cities? I haven't traveled much down there, so I'm curious. YAS, don't attack, i'm just asking because I don't know.
