  1. you gotta be kidding me.
  2. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) I've always thought that they did it to control the population of the seals. Isn't this pretty comparable to hunting season around here? If it weren't for that, we'd have an over-population of deer... People get more mad when its a cuter animal...personally, I am not a hunter, but I don't disagree with a person's right to hunt. But hitting a lame duck seal, over the head to kill it, seems pretty cruel. I saw a picture of this and it was kind of disturbing.

    QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 11:41 AM) I am totally amped about 'Sin City". Anyone? Anyone? Looking forward to Alba shakin' that ass! No doubt. Ebert gave it 4 stars.
  4. QUOTE(BlackBetsy @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 10:05 AM) I just don't understand keeping Widger. Widger is (1) new to the team and to the Sox pitching staff; (2) the worst hitter of Davis, Burke and Widger; and (3) the oldest. It doesn't make any sense. Jamie Burke has done nothing but hit and play well for the White Sox. Buehrle loves throwing to him. Ben Davis has had a decent spring, albeit with injuries, and makes $1 million per year. Chris Widger?? It just doesn't make sense. There has to be more to this story. The sun times says Widger received rave reviews from the pitchers for his catching. So I guess that is it. Was Ben hitting .350?
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 10:15 AM) I'm getting it as soon as Howard's contract ends. Steff is a stern fan? Awesome.
  6. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) Walker was on ESPN yesterday, talking about how we should look at Crede's last 15 at-bats to get a grasp on what how offseason prep has worked out. he said that his first 20 he was trying to work out his new mechanics. I hope he's right. Or He Gone! and then your 2006 third sacker...Josh Fields!
  7. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 09:13 AM) Tony why did you get your tickets so late? I'm only asking cause we also just got ours yesterday...it's been pretty stressful to say the least. We have 23 people counting on these tickets and you can only take a guys word for so long. The dude came through but man nothing like last minute... I get them through a connection...I've been guaranteed the tickets all along, but I just got them yesterday. This guy hooks me up all the time. He got me 4th row for Metallica...last year I went to Sox/Angels for free and sat three rows behind the dugout...awesome stuff!
  8. I just got mine up and running a couple weeks ago. So far I love it. My purpose for getting it was for Howard Stern (yeah, I know). However, they have a ton of cool stuff on it. I have it set up so I can take the radio from my home, to my car, to my work. During the NCAA's, I was able to get play by play for every single game. Also, they have the NBA, NHL (ummm), and the NFL. And for you NASCAR folks, they will have that after XM's contract is up, in a year or so. They have a kick ass Comedy channel, called Raw Dog, that plays tons of uncensored stuff...old Pryor, Redd Fox, Dice...and tons of current stuff...Chris Rock, Lewis Black. Check it out...www.sirius.com
  9. That performance yesterday in the 4th quarter was awesome. Especially those clutch 3's at the end, especially the last one. Holy s***! Watching this guy's career will be fun.
  10. Just got my tickets yesterday...Club Level baby....no beer or bathroom lines for me! I can't f'ing wait!
  11. I'm glad to hear his average is up to .270...but he has to be consistent. As was mentinoned, with guys like AJ and AROW in front of him, he could put up some great numbers. Get it done Joe!
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) Now THERE is a newsflash! I also go by the name 'Captain Obvious'
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) Linkage here More from the King of Pop at the link He talked to a 9 year old about being a virgin? What the f*** is that? This guy is just creepy.
  14. QUOTE(danman31 @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) Says the man with the hot Canadian chick in his avatar and signature. I down with hot chicks, no matter their country of origin.

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) Did that really come up? Too funny!
  18. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) I'm not familiar with this Larry the Cable Guy dude, but yes Foxworthy does. But! There is something about making fun of your own type that is more acceptable than being looked down and insulted by an outsider, so to speak. For example, a black man can call another black man the "n" word and get away with it, whereas if a white man does the same thing he might find out that it is a grave mistake. But are they not perpetuating the stereotype and helping keep it alive...for all, even non-southerners? I will say this, don't people have a pre-conceived notion of us 'yankees'? I think so...that's perpetuating a stereotype too. I don't think a response like 'I expected this to be a story from Alabama' is really a big insult. However, I regret making you upset. I look at it more of a little jab to the ribs type of joke.
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) There have been people banned from Soxtalk for such types of insults. You find it funny. I find someone that thinks insulting someone based on either race,creed, sex, location, or whatever a classless SOB. So what about Larry the Cable guy or Jeff Foxworthy? Do they not spread southern stereotypes?
  20. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 10:31 AM) So why is it ok for you to insult me and my family heritage and it's not ok for me to insult an ethnic or gender or sexual preference group? Feel free to insult whoever you want to. I find southern stereotypes to be hilarious. And a guy like Jeff Foxworthy or Larry the Cable Guy help to pass those stereotypes along...so what do you think of them? And Chicago is a very racist city....why do you think all the neighborhoods are segregated?
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Mar 28, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) f*** the majority of the world. Hooray America! I'm with you....
  22. QUOTE(YASNY @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 10:08 AM) That's a typical remark. I pretty much wrote that knowing you would have to respond.

  24. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) http://www.nbc5.com/irresistible/4326779/d...382&dppid=65172 I thought this would be a story set in Alabama!
  25. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) Good for Gene, bad for us. It won't be opening day without him... he's awesome! No matter, I'll still be there. I'm more interested in who will do the pre-game hype on the big screen, now that Dave Wills is gone. I loved when they added that last year.
