  1. A-Rod didn't really admit to s***...after reading Deluca today, I sent him this e-mail. Chris, why is everyone, including you, acting like A-Rod admitted to steroid use? He admitted to using a banned substance, why continually throwing 'GNC' around. He wouldn't say the substances by name, and acted like he had never heard of the substance Gammons mentioned. And Gammons has no balls. He let A-Rod dance around all his questions, while hardly answering any of them. Or did I miss something? Tony from North Riverside
  2. As an FYI to everyone...saturday's cub game is already done...probably because they hold some for the future Ozzie plans they want to sell. I scored lower level for the Friday game...and upper deck for Sunday. Also bought 4 more for opening day. Happy Ticket hunting!
  3. There was a guy who bought a used John Danks bat for $10. The bat had a huge chunk cut from it, from a Cubs/Sox game. He had Danks sign it. I thought that was kind of cool.
  4. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 10:41 AM) Looks like BA's puttin' the moves on your wife. What would you expect? Yeah, I think he puts the moves on everybody.
  5. Wow...what a ratrace! I hustled though and got a bunch of autographs...Dye, Alexei, Ozzie, Floyd, Danks, Quentin...pictures with a bunch of them. I will post some later. Couple quick observations. 1. A lot of people at this were absolute weirdos. 2. A lot of people were fun to talk to about the team. 3. People ask horrible questions in the QA.

    LOST!!!!

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 12:28 PM) Would the H bomb be somewhere on this map? http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/lostpedi...T_totalback.JPG That map lays it all out nicely. Mysteries solved.

    LOST!!!!

Ok, so the swan was the first station we found out about...and it was like a bunker, surrounded by concrete. Faraday tells them to bury that bomb and surround it with concrete, or something like that. So, the 108 minutes thing, is that them venting some gas buildup from that bomb? And when they don't do it, it explodes. Does this make sense?
  8. How many autographs per wristband?
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 09:15 AM) This is the best I could find. Hey oh....do you need wristbands too? Do you take your own photo? Or do they take it and charge you for it?
  10. QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 11:33 AM) Still no changes=Disaster. You'd think they would learn a thing or two. For those who are going for the first time, and obviously the autograph schedule is not out yet, but lets say Big Jim is signing at 2:30p with a couple of sessions before him... plan on getting over to that line for a bracelet at 10am. People will always try the same shenanigans with this system. What are the shenanigans?
  11. QUOTE (Steff @ Jan 21, 2009 -> 08:48 AM) They will sign 2 items and take a picture so I'm not sure what you are referring to. That's part of the reason for all the complaining about cutting the wristbands down but the time in line went up. This sounds pretty good...hopefully the economy will keep people away and the lines won't be too bad. At least I hope.
  12. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 20, 2009 -> 12:26 PM) The event totally caters to those people staying at the hotel. One HUGE advantage (at least in past) is that you can line up for autographs earlier than those not staying at the hotel. They should cater to me...I spent too much money on this.
  13. QUOTE (Sec101Row1 @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Thats $20 per day in the old Marshall Fields garage about 2 blocks south. Valet was $25 Don't they know the economy is in the crapper?
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 12:53 PM) I haven't stayed down there for 5-6 years, and everybody's rates are WAY up since then. It seems like the hotel guest rate was something like $15, but I am honestly not sure anymore. I would budget $25 or $30 if you park at the hotel lot. Depending on where you are coming from, public transit to the area is awesome. You can get to that area on just about any bus or train, with a minimal walk afterwards. I'm coming 20 minutes from the west and public transportation doesn't work well from where I am. I can handle 15-20 bucks for the weekend.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 12:44 PM) /threadjack Hey I was going to ask you how you've liked the XM/Sirius merger. Channel 53 is quickly become part of my regular rotation, but I am still exploring other Sirius channels. Its good...Im dissappointed that MLB home plate is not part of the 'best of' package. But since its not, I did not get it. What is 53?
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 12:33 PM) Not unless they did something special with the hotel package, which I doubt. So, when you stayed there, where did you park? And what did it cost? I might cab it then.
  17. QUOTE (Sec101Row1 @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 12:23 PM) 1) autographs are free 2) Last year I received 4 tickets to a game w/ the welcome bag 3) there is a restaurant on the 1st floor, it's very expensive. go out to the ESPN Zone 4) Don't leave your cell phone on the Bar Cool...Palmer House has free parking for guests, right?
  18. So I have a few questions. This is the first year I am going in a long time. 1. For autographs, I assume you pay per autograph, like at card shows. True? Are certain items more (baseball vs picture)? 2. Does the hotel package, standard package, get you anything special...like 1 free autograph? Or a reach-around from Ozzie? Anything? 3. Do they have areas to eat? Or will you need to leave soxfest? 4. Anything I should know that maybe I would not think of?
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 12, 2009 -> 11:30 AM) My guy gave me the same response I have been getting for 3 years: cant move you anywhere. I pretty much got that response too. BS.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Dec 11, 2008 -> 09:39 AM) F the Mets No, its come on out and 'Meet the Mets'...not F the Mets
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 10, 2008 -> 08:24 AM) Sox general manager Ken Williams, sticking to his stealth plan, ducked a question about free agents he might meet with this week. ''If I answered that question, it would go against my tactics of trying to mislead you guys as much as I can,'' he said. ''So I just have to continue on with my pattern of dodging and weaving. We generally have more success when we are operating out of sight.'' Hopefully he dodges and weaves us a proven starting pitcher and lead off hitting centerfielder. I won't hold my breath.
