  1. Sounds like we're going to get a lot of late inning excitement at the Cell. This article definately pumped me up. Can't wait for opening day.
  2. I love this guy...hope to see him finish it up here. WS MVP Baby!
  3. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 10:56 AM) I did UD split-season seats last year. Not interested in the UD this year. I had only planned on one or two games this year, so it's not a big deal. The hangup is I need 3 seats. 2 and 4 are easier to get from ST people, but 3 isn't as easy. Maybe I should have another kid, to make it an even number of seats.... NO, just kill your wife.
  4. last year I was able to get 2 extra opening day and 2 extra cubs tickets....today, nothing...apparently all gone.
  5. Wow, this is a blowout. No dout the Sox season. That was a long wait, and when it came, it was sweet. I'm not nearly as excited about the Bears, as I was for the Sox.
  6. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 12:43 PM) I couldn't be happier to see Crede gone after this season. His ceiling was about what he hit last year, in my opinion, factoring in future back injuries and his career average. I think I'm with you on this...get another year out of him and then ring in the Josh Fields era.
  7. My grandmother and father were big fans. My grandma used to take my dad to games all the time, and always on his birthday. And when I got old enough, grandma couldn't take me, so grandpa used to take me and my dad. So it started with grandma, to my dad, and to me. And my grandma was literally alive the whole time the Sox didn't win. She was born shortly after they won the WS in 1917, and died months before they won it again in 2005.
  8. Southsider? You live in Indiana.
  9. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 3, 2007 -> 10:48 AM) Not to come across as racist or anything of the sort, because Iam not, but I was surprised when I learned about it as well considering I didnt really picture a black athlete as an avid hunter. Those blacks!
  10. Caller wants to know why we seem to be not spending again, getting cheaper. KW recapping the signings of last year...Garland, etc.
  11. QUOTE(G&T @ Jan 3, 2007 -> 08:37 AM) Mack will take over Gload's job. Why a caller would ask this is beyond me. Yeah, because brainiacs listen to Mike North...a hot dog vendor. Now you guys got me listening. Can't wait to hear more bad questions, after all these f***ing commercials.
  12. QUOTE(G&T @ Jan 3, 2007 -> 08:15 AM) ::commercial:: On the Score? no way! Long live Sirius. When is the Bookie Priest going to come on? That is always ingenius. Ok, done making fun of North. Sounds like KW is very confident in what he has done. I'm excited to get baseball going. The Bears will be over soon, after they lose their first playoff game, and I need me some baseball.
  13. QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 29, 2006 -> 02:37 AM) Somebody hint me, I know that one. big in the 80s, they liked to rock people a certain way And I got like 10 of them.
  14. If we trade another starter, this year will be a bust. So if we do, it had better be for Pelfrey. I don't think the Sox will move any more starters.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 29, 2006 -> 07:33 AM) Let me put this simply... Jeff.Weaver.Will.NEVER.Pitch.For.The.Chicago.White.Sox. Ever. I vomit at the thought.
  16. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Dec 28, 2006 -> 01:32 PM) I still don't prefer trading him before the season starts. In a sense it would be a White Flag deal for the 2007 campaign and could really look bad for the organization. This is a pivotal year for us to get back into the playoffs and I don't see us doing it by trading away two veterans like Garcia and Buehrle. Tough spot for KW. Big time tough spot. These contracts are just f***ing ridiculous. All this money to play baseball. Its mind-blowing.
  17. QUOTE(greg775 @ Dec 26, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) I say it's Cintron time. Dump Uribe. We need another outfielder. I kind of agree with you. I like Cintron as the full time SS.
  18. QUOTE(chiguy79 @ Dec 23, 2006 -> 04:39 PM) I was very surprised by this move but am holding off over-reacting, want to see what else KW has planned. I'm with you...something else is coming. Don't forget, Kenny had that 1AM meeting with Cashman. I bet Cashman said 'We'd love to have Crede, Broadway and DAnks'....now we can do it. Ok, that probably didn't happen. I'm just hoping that a big name player is coming for some of these pitchers.
  19. QUOTE(iamshack @ Dec 19, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) I know Wells has had some very nice years, but he has had some not so nice years as well. Wells is certainly a desirable guy to have, but considering he isn't any real measurable amount better than Anderson defensively in CF, you are paying $100 million for the offensive upgrade, that the team doesn't necessarily need right now. That may change with the coming departures of Dye, Thome, and Crede eventually, but I think I would take my chances on trading for Rios as a corner OF, hoping BA will develop offensively, and saving my cash. You continue to ignore Rios pricetag and huge upside. I would love to see Rios on the southside...he could play CF this year, and move to RF next year. I just remember early in the season last year, when we went to Toronto, and in the first game, Rios was on base every time. And he was leading the league in hitting at the time. I'd love to see Javy's ass hit the road and bring in Rios. Get 'er done KW.
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 13, 2006 -> 02:10 PM) ^^^ I enjoy the posts too... Anything is better than the "nuh-uh", "uh-huh" type arguements that seem to be going on perpetually... See, it turns out I'm the moron. no surprise there.
  21. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 11:00 AM) Every single Idea ive pitched to him, he has either strongly considered it/made it a reality. This marketing department truly talks and interacts to its fans. Coolest thing hes ever done? He came down to my seat to say hello to me last season during a game. way cool. This is just you bragging that you are full of good ideas. I doubt its true.
  22. Also said he is not in Florida 'drinking cocktails and talking'...he is in either NY or Chicago, wherever he lives. Chicago right? I think I heard him say he was in Chicago, then say NY.
  23. Rhythm and tempo, that is what Floyd needs...according to Coop.
  24. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 08:12 AM) According to Mike North this morning, the Jays offered Wells straight up for Garcia but KW wanted Wells to sign a 4 yr extension and Wells refused....TIFWIW being that it is Mike North... Mike North is a moron. All I know is that this trade sucks.
