  1. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 01:56 PM) Jaque Jones? eeewwww
  2. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 08:17 AM) Bobby Jenks has "slimmed down" to 279 pounds. It was in the Sun-Times. They also said that the White Sox were concerned about his hip, but they think it is weight related, and his dropping a few may clear that up. Good to see he is working out. The White Sox need him badly. This is good news. As Dean Wurmer said 'Fat, Drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son'
  3. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Dec 6, 2006 -> 09:27 AM) if we sign bonds, i dont tune in next season. book it. didn't we already discuss this BS already? I'm with you. Only problem, my tickets are paid for, almost.
  4. QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) Haha I remember that, got good tickets to that game cheap on Ebay, was sitting a few sections over. That was a pretty sad game until a great Anderson catch and then Pablo (!) puts the team on his back and ties/wins the game, good stuff. That's right...didn't he bunt in the winning run?
  5. QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) thats a load of s***. the white sox dont want any of the yankees pitchers who arent named scott proctor. and the yankees wont move proctor. I figured it out. A deal has been reached, but they are now asking for AROD to waive his no-trade clause. Bruce Levine confronted someone and they lied, and said it had nothing to do with AROD. They didn't want him to find out about it before hand. Based on this, I now know its a done deal. Can't wait to see him in a sox uniform next year.
  6. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) Maybe you should pay more attention during games? I was. I jumped back when it smacked this guy in the face. I was anticipating a rough rebound. I think HE should have been paying attention. The good news, most of his blood went into a drain in front of him, and his girlfriend got the ball.
  7. I'll never forget a game last year. Bottom of the 9th, we are down 1 run, and AJ lines a shot into section 114 and breaks a guy's nose. If the guy had ducked, it would have smacked me square in the nuts. During all the commotion to help the guy, Pablo smacks a dinger to go into extra innings. Ahh, the smell of bleach perfuming my section (to clean the blood off all the seats), as the Sox won it in 11. Nice.
  8. QUOTE(iamshack @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 12:36 PM) Well, it appears that either he or Freddy is. I could see Freddy being the one who wants to negotiate a long-term deal moreso than Mark, considering that Freddy has familial connections to the team. agreed. do it. Buerhle and Crede for AROD.
  9. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 12:29 PM) My baseball fanatic co-worker just came in from listening to some sports radio show and says the current deal being considered is Crede/Buehrle for A-Rod. I keep forgetting our pitchers status...is Buerhle signed through '07 or '08?
  10. QUOTE(iamshack @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) Not necessarily. As many have said, ARod may be too bulky to play ss at this stage in his career. Although I imagine him getting the go-ahead that he could return to ss might be a factor in him waiving his NTC. If not, he could stay at third, and Fields could be used to acquire a ss prospect? Hey, whatever they decide to do. I would just love to have AROD's bat in this lineup.
  11. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) Ah, I think you already knew that you were, I didnt need to point it out. Im sure that someone may have leaked that info. I would love to see AROD break up the base-clogging duo of Thome and Konerko. So I guess AROD would play 3rd this year, and then move to SS in 2008, when Mr. Fields hits the scene? Sounds like a plan. Where do we sign?
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 11:43 AM) Because they have people at the meetings. How do you think they know this? I realize this...but how AROD was discussed, was my question. But obviously he is the only player we would be interested in. So I am a moron, thanks for pointing it out.

QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 2, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) He looked strange doing the golf with the remote thing. Not holding an actual club was somthing I didn't think he would like. He seemed ok with it though. The thing I am worried about is that he would get bored with it fast and it would end up collecting dust. Steff, I'd guess it would collect dust. But, if you have entertain friends with kids, this would be great.
  14. I'm with a lot of previous posters...extend Buerhle (so my jersey remains relevent) and trade Freddy. I have to think last year is going to go down as Buerhle's worst season. He'll have a nice year in '07.
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 5, 2006 -> 09:40 AM) It was just reported on ESPN 1000 that the White Sox and Yankees brass met early this morning in the white sox sweet apparently to discuss A-rod How do they know this? i don't buy it. But it gets me all excited. Gross.
  16. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 4, 2006 -> 11:10 AM) I like international signings, we really need to do this more, preferably with some Hispanic players, too. Yeah, baseball doesn't have many at all.
  17. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 03:22 PM) Soxmas Party Update There will now be a Live Band for your musical entertainment ......... along with The World Series Trophy .... and a special Hair-Washing Contest. QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) There is a link on Rotoworld where Gammons speculates that Manny Ramirez may be headed to Chicago for 3 players... I take it you mean the Sox, and not the flubs? We shouldn't have to send much, considering they want to dump his ass. Or am I wrong?
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 01:58 PM) Actually it was cold as hell outside waiting for the store to open up, but when we went in I did take my coat off and did proudly display my "Hey Cub Fans" shirt with the middle finger with the world series ring on the middle finger. 2 hours of hearing attendance crap, socio-economic garbage, and just plain poo that the usual warped cub fan spews. oh, then you punch him in the face.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 01:54 PM) Dramatic is how people act like Barry Bonds is the worst thing to hit baseball. The baseball hall of fame is filled with admitted cheaters. Go read up on Gaylord Perry. And the ruining his life part is more towards the United States govt, who is pissed that he did not follow through on testifying, and is now going to convene grand juries for the rest of his life. Well, he shouldn't have lied to them about using roids, instead what he thought was for arthritis. He asked for the s*** that is coming after him. All these assholes were bad for baseball. his problem is that he is the poster child right now. Mr. McGwire isn't around to get his due. He is an asshole too.

QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 01:47 PM) Actually i never have said Barry Bonds is clean. I have said that Barry Bonds was never caught cheating, and therefore I am not going to start a witch hunt. I have said that players like Albert "Joey" Belle, Sammy Sosa, etc have been caught cheating while playing, and so if you have a problem with Barry, you have to have a problem with every single player who has ever "cheated". Although I think it would be hard to argue Barry cheated, considering the rules that he broke would have been ex post facto, as at the time of the occurrences it was not against the MLB policy to take what Barry was taking. But why let facts ruin an otherwise good argument: "barry is an asshole, lets ruin his life." Ruin his life? how dramatic.
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 01:43 PM) Rock you kid and all, but I was in a line for Black Friday last week and some dolt in a cubs hat was giving me a 2 hour diatribe on how this is their year due to Soriano alone. I had to control myself not to choke him out. You should have put on your Cubs Suck shirt

QUOTE(WCSox @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) Even if you take the steroid use out of the equation, Bonds is a clubhouse cancer, is in the twilight of his career, and will cost and arm and a leg. No thanks. Exactly, there are a million reasons why we do not want or need this guy. Go to the A's Barry.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 28, 2006 -> 12:58 PM) SoxBadger doesn't believe that there is any credible evidence linking Bonds to steroids (at least, he's always defended him against the allegations). f*** Barry Bonds. I agree. Well, he may be a little dillusional.
