  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 04:38 PM) Too effing many... Last I heard just over 22K. I'm so not going to be able to sneak behind home plate this year.
  3. Can't wait. This is a great piece of history to have. Rock on.

I'm excited. This is easily the best show on TV. Love everything about it. f***in' fougettabouit!
  6. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 11:59 AM) I have not read the interview, but I've noticed Ozzie takes some of his worst shots at other Latino ball players. He's becoming a minstrel show for the white media. Hey there's Oz, let's throw some names out and watch him say something stupid that we can print. Some day the Sox will no longer be WS champs. Some day they won't even make the playoffs or might just flat out suck and maybe Ozzie will still be their manager. When that day comes, there will be a line of people waiting to talk a world of s*** about Ozzie. It's easy to dish it out when you're on top. It will be interesting to see if he can take it in return when he's not. You're right, but I still find it funny. People, especially people in the media, do not like to talk openly. There are plenty of people who refuse to speak their mind. As we are seeing, it can be interesting when they do.
  7. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 11:33 AM) I know Ozzie gets ripped for having a big mouth, but you know what? He says it exactly like it is. Ozzie for President. I agree...its funny. A-Rod always seemed to be an American to me. Was he born in the Dominican?
  8. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 09:21 AM) Ugueth Urbina asked Ozzie "what do you want me to do?" about taking care of his best friends killer? Really? That is sure going to help Ugie beat the rap that he hacked up his poolboy with a machete and doused him with gasoline, now isnt it? Yes, it was Urbina...had a brain cramp. Yeah, the way you read this, Urbina would kill this guy for Ozzie. It was real weird how Ozzie runs into this guy at the prison. It almost sounded like Ozzie is walking around the place, and just runs into this killer. Very strange.
  9. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 16, 2006 -> 01:38 AM) For the price, we can't do better. Dye earned $4 million last season and he will earn $5 million in 2006 with a $6 million team option for 2007. The Cubs just gave Jock Jones a 3-year, $16 million contract. Dye has an .803 career OPS while Jones has a .782 career OPS. Exactly, Dye is a great player for this price. Hopefully he works on cutting down the strikeouts this year, and upping the walks.
  10. QUOTE(Al Lopez's Ghost @ Feb 15, 2006 -> 09:36 PM) I got in the mail today - it's dated 2/20/06 and the cover picture has that Olympian "The Flying Tomato" on it. Anyhow, the story is yet another behind the scenes look at Ozzie, but covering heavy stuff. You may remember a player named Gus Polidor who was Ozzie's best friend and was murdered in Venezuela ten years ago. The story begins with Ozzie facing the murderer, and telling Ozzie junior "That's the motherf----- who killed Gus." To be honest I haven't finished reading the article, but it looks like it will be an interesting read. Yeah, it was a good read. Ozzie has really seen some f***ed up s*** in his life. I felt for him, running into the killer of his best friend. This happened during a visit to that pitcher in jail, forgetting his name. Anyway, the friend in jail asked him 'What do you want me to do?....sounded bad. Ozzie told him nothing.
  11. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 06:26 PM) And if you were to make a farewell message, do you think it would look like this? http://www.ebaumsworld.com/2006/02/yobbs.html LOL Mine would be a little different...I would have a Sox hat on. But I would repeat 'Know what I'm sayin' at least 100 times. Always a sign of intelligence. Know what I'm sayin?
  12. hi8is, this is why I carry a gun. Shoot first and let God sort them out.
  13. QUOTE(Steff @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 04:52 PM) Boo yuk... Nothing beats the hot dog. Nothing. Boo yuk? Hot dogs rock too. the beltin bill meltin brats rock. love the funnel cakes...and dippin dots...and I have a friend who likes to dance with the churro's guy during Paul Konerko World Series Grand Slams! 15. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 03:55 PM) Lower the damn prices of pizza too, gosh. the pizza there sucks...so just don't eat it
  16. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 08:07 AM) This offseason has flown by! Seemed like every time the celebration was dying down, the Sox would do something to stay in the news. Thome trade, Vasquez trade, Mackowiak trade, the Thomas situation ( ), and so on. Now Spring Training is here, and I am VERY excited to see the Sox begin the defense of their World Championship!!!! BRING IT!!!!!! This offseason has been so exciting. There always seemed to be something happening. And now we buy tickets today. And pitchers and catchers friday. And then games on TV..and then opening day...and rings, and trophies. Ah, wonderful.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 14, 2006 -> 11:51 AM) Its not as good as sitting on the lower level. No doubt. Just glad 27 of my games are lower. I have row 21 for opening day, in the UD. I know this, that ain't where I'll be sitting. I guess some of my buddies will find out where they lie on the totem pole.
  18. I got extra tix for opening day, game 2, and the Cubs series....all in the UD. Unreal.
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) Im sorry I couldnt see their ad, my view is being blocked by a worldseries championship trophy. Exactly. Pretty dumb way to advertise the team.
  20. I know Rodman has busted his schwantz a couple times...bangin too hard and then...missing the hole. Ouch.
  21. QUOTE(The Critic @ Feb 9, 2006 -> 07:57 PM) I just received a very nice group outings pamphlet in the mail today, and those are the only options listed. The literature this year is f***ing great. Lovin' it. We're like a 1st class operation now.

    Oprah to XM

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 01:01 PM) It's a draw for out of towners like myself. And also, all of the misplaced (or bandwagon as I call them) Yankee, Cub and Red Sox fans everywhere. But radio comes after TV. And with satellites and cable, most people can get the games they want. Stern is ONLY available on Sirius. So STERN outdraws anything on XM.

    Rap Sucks

I hate rap. I have no interest in what these guys represent, especially their abuse of the english language. Young, black and urban is not something I am able to relate to. Luckily there are plenty of young white males that can. Peace G. When I see a guy like the Birdman on TV, talking like he's got s*** in his mouth, with gold teeth and teardrops on his face, surrounded by a beautiful house...one thing comes to mind - :puke But hey, its America.

    Oprah to XM

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 11:45 AM) MLB = better than anything Sirius has. i don't have interest in any of the sports on XM or Sirius. Its not a draw for me. I watch 1 team...the Sox. And if I need to, I can listen on the radio. i don't see baseball as a big draw. They're 3 million subscribers behind now. Sirius got a late start.

    Oprah to XM

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Feb 10, 2006 -> 11:33 AM) Also, XM is still ahead of Sirius and continues to show a better outlook. This stays in line with my prediction of an eventual XM buyout of Sirius or just a flat out fall for Sirius due to the amount they overpaid for Stern... Better programming will win out. Howard is the top radio draw in the country. The money they spent on him is to program 3 channels. He is still building the people on the channels. He is bringing on Scott Ferrell to be a sports guy, at night. As much as I don't know the guy, apparently he has had a lot of national exposure. Sirius recently signed on the Blue Collar Comedy Guys, which should be a good draw. And I'm sure has more guys coming along. The music at this point is the same on each service. The premium s*** is what will matter.
