  1. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 11:43 AM) By the way, I'd like to point out how truly obnoxious it is for Mariotti to rip on Jon Garland for his performance yesterday. The kid came out without his best stuff, battled, and gave up 3 runs in 6.2 innings. In my book, that's a very good line. There's almost no pitcher in baseball who won't give up 3 runs in 7 innings quite a few times during the year. That's the kind of numbers you should ask your pitchers to do an hope they can pull off...not the kind of numbers that should make you disappointed in your pitcher. No one is going to shut out the opposition every single game. Jon didn't pitch bad...but we needed him to shut the Tigers down yesterday, so I was not happy with what he did. that being said, the Offense let him down as well. And I am a dumbass, so please call me dumbass...thankx.
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 12:01 PM) Then explain all the other pedophiles, like teachers, that are not celibate? Pedophiliacs are attracted to occupations and other opposrtunties to be around children. Teachers, coaches, day care workers, medical field, etc. And if one is following their religion, is single, they should be celibate. Are you suggesting that males and females should be having casual sex so they avoid abusing children? I'm dropping this...I guess I'm saying that the priest pedophiles joined the church to try and suppress their feelings...and I don't respect religion much, despite 12+ years in catholic schools, so I never should have gotten into this thread.
  3. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 11:55 AM) I have never seen any significant (and reliably done) work on the this. If you have any actual statistic basis for your statement, I would love to see it. Because I highly doubt that is the reason people join the priesthood. I'm sure there are the minute numbers that actually join for those reason, but I doubt that happens any more than with teachers, counselors, etc. . . But, I will change my tune if you can provide me with facts instead of antedotal comments and observations. I'm putting 2 and 2 together...maybe I'm not getting 4...but I have hard time believing that these priests didn't have these feelings before they became priests. If they did, which I am assuming...then I would see joining the priesthood as trying to hide from your problems and say 'I will suppress all sexuality'...when they should actually be getting help from professionals.
  4. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) I disagree entirely. First, pedophiles and homosexuals are NOT the same thing. Gay men are NOT attracted to children, they're attracted to other gay men. They're no more attracted to little boys than you probably are to little girls. Second, some people feel the call to priesthood and want to make a sacrifice to God and their gift and sacrifice is celibacy. I don't agree with a celibate priesthood, but I believe that to most priests it is a joyful sacrifice to the Lord. correct, pedophiles and homosexuals are not the same...I still say that something is wrong with celibacy....and that individuals that are attracted to kids or people who feel their own homosexuality is bad, have turned to priesthood as a solution to suppressing their feelings. There are too many examples of this happening among priests.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 08:15 AM) Nice.. don't name them. Let the risk linger of them getting another job around children and continuing their sick actions. :headshake Must be the poor education they got as children... :rolly I think there is something inherently wrong with wanting to be a priest. Suppressing the sexual side of one-self is not normal. I think a lot of these guys grew up feeling homosexual urges, and then went into the church feeling they would just become celibate. And then all this s*** happens. Obviously some of these offenses are against women, but it seems like a majority are against young boys. What's my point? I don't know.
  6. You can probably get a Beckett Pricing Guide at your local grocery store. That gives the prices for the cards. Also, if you go to Beckett.com, you can sing up for a pricing guide...or buy it...or something. Besides that, I know nothing anymore about cards.
  7. QUOTE(Brian @ Sep 25, 2005 -> 07:22 PM) Dolgin said Happy Birthday to Steff on the post game. And they say random sexual encounters don't get you anything? I'm sure you had a fun time yesterday, with celebrating life and the Sox. Hopefully your head doesn't hurt too bad today. Happy Belated B-day!
  8. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 24, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) I was very curious to see it. I heard most of the film takes place in a courtroom. Still scary though, huh? Lawyers don't scare you? Anyway, I saw it and thought it was alright. nothing special. I saw it at a drive-in, so you don't really get the jump out of your seat moments. I would recommend it on DVD.
  9. 14-11...you can see my complete game log for further details...why wouldn't you? Log
  10. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 11:32 AM) Strippers or this team...either way he is watching boobs. I would take the bouncy type over the sluggish ones anyday myself. Couldn't have put it better myself.

  12. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) "Juice"is so much easier to figure out than 'Pronk'. Booya
  13. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) Combination of Project and Donkey. He is built like a mule and his nick in the minors was project. Hence PRONK. boy is that dumb...i think primate would suit him better...or 'Missing Link'
  14. QUOTE(Wiredawg1 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) I'm calm Damnit!! Really though It bothers me when people in sort of a joking way think that something like that is funny. It could have de-railed his whole career. It's just lucky for tribe fans that Pronk has balls like church bells and was man enough to get back on the horse. Looking forward to the next series with the Sox by the way. Man I thought a few times I was gonna need a triple by-pass. I didn't condone it...and your references to 'Pronk's balls' are disturbing.
  15. I got one for the way the Sox have me feeling today...another Megadeth song 'Angry Again'
  16. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Sep 22, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) The Brewers have an option on him. I am almost possative about that. I agree with your point about his speed, but if he cant run, whats the use? I didn't say whether I wish the trade hadn't happened or not...just that we did what we wanted to do. Would I take it back? Yeah, I guess. we did win 91 games this year...with the people we have.
  17. How to pitch him? Buerhle had it figured out...hit him in the face.
  18. From the beginning we knew Milwaukee got the better end of the deal...we were looking for speed and pitching...and we wanted to cut some salary...all those things were done. Would we be better off with Lee in the lineup? No doubt. Is he going to be a free agent? Maybe we'll get him back to be our DH.
  19. I think this losing is really getting to him...I'm not sure it has to do with the booing...I just bought a Guillen jersey...he'd better not quit. And if we won it all, he'd be a God in this town. He wouldn't go anywhere.
  20. 'Skin O' My Teeth' by Megadeth....the Sox are definately hanging on by the skin of their teeth....how is this lyric from the song... I need a ride to the morgue That's what 911 is for So, tag my toe and don't forget Ooh to close the drawer That being said, Go Sox!....maybe the Song we'll be singing next week will be 'Celebrate'
  21. QUOTE(SoxPhan7 @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 04:30 PM) Ok i got playoff tickets to the 3rd game (if there is one) and I noticed that the price of the club level is equal to that of premium box seat. Is there any reason for this? is there something special about the club level that i do not know about. I am not complaining, because i would have paid twice what i did for tickets to any game, but I am pretty far down the 3rd base line and higher up. Why is that considered and equal experience to being on the main concourse? Just wondering. Everything these people have said is correct no doubt...as for the cost of the tickets being the same, they aren't during the regular season. I think MLB comes up with several cost groupings, and then fit our seats into that cost structure. For example, the premium box seats are also the same as the regular box seats. And there are also less cost schedules for the upper deck.
  22. I'm going with Chops...it goes well with the Elvis night.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) You've sat in EVERY seat..?? Having season tickets we roam before the games.. and I would not pay to sit in the 400 level. JMO. f*** the Bears...its Sox time!
  24. QUOTE(skidoochic @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) I was just going to ask about them. Oh well! Aren't you going? Yep, I'm going...I heard it was naked AJ day too...boy you're going to miss out.
  25. Tix are gone...finally...thanks all for playing.
