  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) Last night, tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday for us. And I don't really care who we're playing. Just get the W. Its easy for you, you live so close to the park.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) I wasn't there, nobody was there. Sox fans are fairweather fans, he is actually helping me prove my point. I have my list of excuses just like any of the other 25,000 blue seats that were there last night. I always go to games...every year...This is my favorite chicago team...I am not fairweather....
  3. Apparently I love seeing the Royals play...I was there Tuesday and I'll be there tonight. I can't wait to see Mike Sweeney, and....and....um....Mike Sweeney.
  4. QUOTE(bmags @ Sep 8, 2005 -> 12:08 AM) we're rooting for baseball You're rooting for baseball? Who gives a f*** if he gets 15 wins. What does that do?
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) Agree.. wasn't the brightest move dropping anchor there, but back then they didn't realize I'm sure. Regardless.. as important as NO is to this countries economy you'd think it would have continued to be a priority to make it "stronger". What is it.. 20% of all goods go into or come out of there..? 20%.. of EVERYTHING... That is a scary number. How f'd up is this economy going to get?
  6. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) I'll tell you one thing, if I am somewhere like LA on the west coast, I am screaming my head off right now for more funding to prevent the samekind of disasterous response after an earthquake. It will be interesting to see if we see a shift into more funding of preventative maintence towards natural disasters, or if we see the same see-no-evil philosophy that has been prevelent in our government for decades. This is why I will stay in Chicagoland....I know, we have tornadoes...but I'll take that over this s***. It almost sounds to me like a city shouldn't even exist there.
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) We just got an email from HR stating that $12K and 18 pallets of non-parishable had been donated... this after we already sent 4 trucks down to LSU and Houston, and one to DC. Now we're doing a collection of clothes, food, toiletries, etc. for a shelter in Tinley Park. I guess they are taking in people.
  8. All you people watching Cubs games should be banned!
  9. I didn't read this whole thread...too long...but I donated $100 to my work, which was going to match employee contributions. We raised about $9000 (including the match), which isn't too bad for a company of 100 people. And I gave $5 @ the Sox game last night...I think I'll donate again to the Red Cross in a couple weeks.
  10. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) Met him in the bar at Soxfest. I was actually kinda suprised that he was so easy-going. Seems like a pretty cool guy to hang around with. He was eating nachos and joking around with everyone the next day at the private autograph session. He was really having a good time. I definately could see that from how he was yesterday. Here is a good quote. He was goofing around with our 'chaperone' and she said keep your dirty hands off me (joking). He said 'I'm sure its not the first time dirty hands have been on you.' I bit my tongue on that one. They knew each other and it was friendly. And funny.
  11. QUOTE(SnB @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 01:11 PM) $300 including vip seats and parking? that's not terrible. I may have to look into that for next year I lucked out...my first one was canceled. After the Sox played the Twinkies to midnight, BP was canceled for the next day and so was my BP experience. But, I got to use the tix (7th row behind the dugout) and parking pass. Then I picked another day and got it all again.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) NOT camp Randall, it is a much superior stadium....I will give you a hint, it is shaped like a horseshoe.... YOu know what I say to that...Go Blue!
  13. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) "Ay-ay-ay, Señor Ding-Dong!" I mean broads...I mean, nice young ladies in cute little bee costumes.
  14. QUOTE(skidoochic @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) Tonyho7476- that whole experience sounds awesome! It is a little too expensive for me though. I guess I will have to put some cash aside for next year if I don't spend it all snowmobiling! Glad you had a good time! Can't wait to see your pictures! You wouldn't be happy...no AJ...and I didn't even see Pods or Gooch...not sure how that happened. They may have batted before I got there. if you can do it, I recommend...but I don't have the normal expenses as others...my car is paid off, I don't have an expensive mortgage (come on, its Stickney), and I don't have kids to support. And I make a decent buck, so it means more money in the pocket.
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) Nothing looks tougher than her av, of course. Don't f*** with chicks in bee costumes!
  16. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) Paulie is gone after 05' anyway, my man. Sure looks that way....I hope they have a plan for his replacement.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) And I didn't say I got this feeling from this board. Oh...good point. I certainly am not happy to hear about it. I am glad we didn't trade for him, since this just seems to be a ridiculous trend for him.
  18. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:18 PM) How about those White Sox? If you want to talk about the Sox, get off SLaP! This type of bulls*** will get you banned!
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) 4) You should not take pleasure in a players injury especially in this case, we don't trade for him, he gets injured and that makes you happy? It shouldn't. *4 is not directed at anyone inparticular, just the overall feeling I'm getting from a lot of Sox fans. Where are you getting this from? I don't see anyone happy. And I said congrats to the team for not being smart and it costing them, again.
  20. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) If you ever need to know where the Sox-friendly bars are here, hit me up. No thanks, I don't travel north of 290!
  21. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 11:32 AM) Thanks and I agree. Being championship-free since 1917 will do that. I like to say: "Hope for the best, expect the worst." It is Chicago; we are stoic like that. That said, of course I think we'll do great things this year and am thrilled with how it's gone so far. Not August, but hey: if that was the slump and now we're going to start rolling in September, perfect. That was my point over there; usually at this point we're collapsing for good. Not so now! Go Sox! I take it LV stands for Vegas...how does one become a fan in Vegas? ARe you from CHicago originally?
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) they should offer a couple of swings in the cage. Make a few good solid contact hits and call it a day. You wouldnt last for more than 20 swings anyway. They do offer a 'batting practice day'...but its with your friends, not the Sox, on an off-day...and I believe its $10,000....its for like 20 people($500 a piece) if I remember correctly.
  23. QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) Can you post some pics? Yeah, got some pics to come....later tonight or tomorrow.
  24. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:18 AM) I know I will have to do that next year for sure. Did youget to hit in the cage, if so, did you get ahold of any of them? No hitting in the cage...not an option. You hang out next to the dugout and watch the action.
  25. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 7, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) He immortalized himself as a Sox trivia answer with the 504' blast. And, yeah, you'd think 5.3 million would have got us a little more. I saw the 504' blast...which came shortly after our fall from grace in '04...so I pretty much yawned and went and got a beer.
