    Al's Beef

And any time I see someone say Portillos, I know you are a retard? Just kidding, but that is not even close to the best...despite what the giant sign in the restaurant says.

    Al's Beef

I'm re-posting this from the last 'Beef Debate'....now I'm hungry... (Carms)its Hillside...and its the best...especially with hot peppers and mozzarella....people who say portillo's are crazy. While both Buona beef and Portillo's are good, they do not compare to Carm's. I recommend everyone give them a try. If you work in Oakbrook, its only about 7-10 minutes away. Its on Wolf Rd, North of 22nd street and south of Roosevelt. I guarantee you won't be dissappointed. I've been going there since I was a kid.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 08:07 AM) Back when the AJ talk was going on I called Ray immediately.. he said there were never any issues and that one of the main reasons he didn't get along was because he is a straight shooter. Tells you like it is without consequence.. but tactfully. Ray and him talked a lot because of Ray playing here and AJ with the Twins, but Ray said a lot of what happened was blown way out of proportion. He also said AJ was a huge fan of kangaroo court.. something San Fran did not actively participate in for whatever reason, and that rubbed a few guys the wrong way. Also remember folks.. Barry runs that clubhouse. I got that from both Sid and Ray. It's kind of like how Willie came in and rocked the boat.. you don't do that to the vets. Doesn't matter now. He's here and that's that. Their loss. Why do you get to rub elbows with all these people? Who are you? Is this actually Mrs. Reinsdorf? Did you work for the Sox?

  8. QUOTE(Spod=Ratings @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 03:24 PM) Dont know if it was posted,On ESPN insider it said texas may be shopping Rogers and the only 2 teams listed as interested was the Twins and White Sox Just thought id pass that along Consider his suspension is coming up...and he is a pain in the ass...what do we think this guy will cost?
  9. QUOTE(FLsouthsider @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 02:56 PM) well, mike sirotka did have a great couple of years in toronto. hell, we could have traded sirotka for an italian beef with extra pepperoncinis and come out ahead. Only if its a Carms beef...pepperocinis? What's wrong with you?
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) Jim's doing this on 8/19. I'm thinking of doing a TWins game...If I recall this, isn't he going ot watch the yankees?
  11. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) i did the batting practice one. it was pretty neat. Lot of money, worth a once in a lifetime experience. Was your experience the same as Zoom? Did you get autographs and such?
  12. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) I was on the field during batting practice last year (I won it in a charity auction. looks like I got screwed on the price. Oh Well. ). That was awesome. We got there really early before the park opened, so the Sox were still taking batting practice. We were standing right next to the dugout, and whenever the players were done with their batting set they came over. They were all really cool, I think only the guys in the last group blew us off because they had to get going. I got a ball signed by Maggs, a pennant from Carlos, plus pictures with a lot of them. We also met Ozzie, KW, and the Hawk. Hawk was awesome, we asked him why he doesn't say "Grab some bench" as much anymore, and he said, "Well, normally when I say that I don't like the son of a b****" . My only complaint was that we didn't get to meet the pitchers. They're always in the bullpen early and don't always stop by the dugout apparently. However, I thought it was a blast, and well worth $300 a person. That just sold it for me...gotta do it.
  13. QUOTE(Balance @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 12:33 PM) There would definitely be alcohol involved. And it would start with champagne. No rioting, though. Celebrate, don't break stuff. I think these people were kidding about rioting, I hope...celebrate, don't violate. How cool would it be to own the 'Official White Sox World Series Video'? I would love to be able to relive this season over and over again.
  14. QUOTE(knightni @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) I understand that it would be kind of neat to be on the field, but that is a waste of money. These people are just like you and me except that they play a children's game very well. I say, go to the picnic in the park day and wander around on the field. Save your money for game tickets. Oh, I spend a lot of money on tickets...I don't feel $300 is that much for this...
  15. 16. It would be the first time I would ever consider a tattoo...personally I think they are dumb...but this could change my mind.
  17. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 08:35 AM) Pitcher we haven't beaten this year: Sandy Koufax Walter Johnson Doc Gooden Jack Morris Cy Young Steve Carlton Dennis Martinez Vida Blue Plus many more... We haven't beaten them cause we haven't faced them...they'd be f***ed!
  18. QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 10:43 PM) First off, I'm a big fan of Simmons' stuff, he's hilarious a lot of the time. Hell, even though I don't neccessarily agree with these dubious honors, the fact that he came up with them is pretty funny. For the Napolean Dynamite one, nobody expected the Sox to be where they are, so what are we?? A surprise. Furthermore in today's game most great teams have a couple great players and role players around them, whereas we have a lot of good players, but no megastars. it really sort of is an inexplicable success. nobody figured we could win and we are. Then for the Garland thing, it's hard to blame the guy, Garland has been a mediocre starter for what, four seasons? All of a sudden he has a good half season. I think he's figured his stuff out and won't collapse, but I can't blame somebody for taking the "I'll believe it when I see it" approach. Don't ever take sides against the family again!
  19. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 04:48 PM) those haven't been 'goods' in a long, long time. Hey Oh! Ok, I need to see a picture of her wrinkly 'bads'
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 08:12 AM) Hmmm something tells me that you aren't going to be here long... SS2K5, put that guy on the terrorist watch list! In fact, all cub fans should be on that list. And he named himself 'Crash'....is he crashing our Soxtalk fun? Crash, always remember :fthecubs
  21. QUOTE(S720 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 08:11 AM) In all honesty, I am SCARED! Can someone reassure me? We will win every single game, don't worry! Are you reassured?
  22. QUOTE(frahungski @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) i'm not trying to be negative or anything, but i haven't been able to see too many games this year. the point is, i haven't seen us beat any good pitchers. the only time i can remember us getting more than 2 or 3 runs off of a good pitcher is against maddux in the first cubs series. so... who have we beaten? Get outta here Ron Santo
  23. Gotta love hawk...he is too diehard a Sox fan not too...Although I will say that the Put it on the board is getting a litte annoying...but love 'He Gone'....could use some 'Grab some bench'...miss that one
  24. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) I probaly would also, but tears of joy. Me too...because I would remember all the times my grandpa took me to games...and my dad....and it would be all about the great memories...It would be so overwhelming...
