  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) I think Dye is meant for the 3 spot right now. He is hitting very well as of late and you can;t complain about his turnaround since the first month and a half... There ya go...then Frank...then Konerko...whatever drops Kong...i hate his ass right now...and I hate the rest of him
  2. QUOTE(Jake @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) The 3 spot is for a high on base percentage guy that hits for power but has decent speed. Typically your best overall hitter. This is also usually a guy who fits into your small ball philosophy. #3 is not a good spot for Frank right now. He keeps getting up in bunting situations and, being Frank, does not bunt. He also loves to strike out in those situations. I say no to Frank in the 3 hole. When Aaron is doing well (and hitting a few more homers) he's perfect for the spot, but right now theres not really anyone made for that spot. Don't forget Tad played in the 3 spot in Japan. Oh great...the grimace guy is on my side...and he is in the El Duque fan club. I was thinking of the ARow of last year for the 3 spot...not our current ARow...but maybe last year was a fluke...
  3. We'll f***in' scalp 'em... A nice 3 out of 4 would erase my memory of the A's.
  4. So you guys are saying you love my idea?
  5. I need a picture...I gotta see the wrinkly goods. Can you imagine how used the good are? Ewww.
  6. QUOTE(ISF @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) I would personally have A-Row batting 7th or 8 th right now, and that's being nice. He was doing well early in the 3 spot, but Thomas, Kong, and Dye/Everett should be our 3-4-5. Nobody on this team can approach Thomas' OPS potential. I realize...I'm just trying to figure out how to get Aaron going...and to get Kong down in the lineup...
  7. I would like to see how Aaron has done when batting third....it seems to me he is best in that spot. I would like to see this: Pods Gooch ARow Frank Paul/Dye Dye/Paul AJ Crede Uribe Thoughts?
  8. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 02:00 PM) I knew that! I was testing him to see if he would remember his logic. DUH! So seriously, with walk ups, we could expect between 2.0 and 2.5 million??? I think people will be gobbling up a lot of tickets...2.5 would be awesome and I think possible!
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) How do you figure that? Due to the tickets already sold for the rest of the year, its at 1.9 million...
  10. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) Has to be AJ's walkoff. It just has to be. Definately...I was there, in the club section...the game was my father's Day gift to my dad...Plus, I loved singing along with the Go Go White Sox song...
  11. Who is the bohemian representative?
  12. QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) It depends on the game. Early in the season I got some sweet tickets on Stub Hub to a game against the Royals, paid about $40 for the tickets. I haven't found any other great deals like that though. I'd try to buy tickets in the outfield in advance, and you're looking at around $30 per. If you eat and drink at the game it's gonna get really expensive really fast. I don't know where you go to college, but transportation is the other big cost, if you're in the Chicago area, find a way to take the Red Line ($3.50 round trip) and it's fairly cheap, if you drive you have the cost of gas and $17 to park near the stadium. I usually but a $1 scorecard and keep score during the game, that way I don't want to get food because it'd be hard to eat and keep score at the same time and I might end up missing some plays. So, about the cheapest it's gonna be is $35 per person, and that's barebones minimum. Of course, if you go on Monday tickets are half price Lucky for me I have some money and love to waste it on 5.50 beers...I blow way too much money there...the Sox better win this year, or I'm asking Reinsdorf for my money back! If you live in Stickney, you can afford more
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) How much do you guys spend per game... for les say good not great but not bad tickets and for food and everything at the game. Im interested because im just starting college and will finally have my own car and s***, but if it costs 2 much I cant really afford to go because I can use all the money I can get my hands on to, I know the upper deck seats or whatevr are really cheap but dont want to sit up there. To be honest in my lifetime ive actually been to more cubs games than sox ones , my dad used to get free tickets from his business all the time and they were always cub tickets and since whole family is cubs fans beside me that wasnt a problem for them Whoa...that is un-excuseable...you go to Cubs games but not Sox? You need to buy an UD ticket and deal with it...or join the Rainbow Army on the North Side!
  14. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) If we learned anything from this offseason, cost saver=team improvement. With the money we are going to save on an equal-better player, we can add another crucial piece to the puzzle. Not to mention i like Huff's LH bat and his even splits against LH and RH pitching. I think I like the Huff idea...but what would we have to give up to get him? Kong doesn't benefit them at all...they'd want prospects...
  15. Go get 'em Buerhle! We need the win for homefield
  16. QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) Looks like we're gonna have a real rivalry here!! If the season ended today we'd be playing them in the divisional series. Guillen didn't really announce Buehrle as the starter though, he just said that Francona had called him to talk about it, and spoke his feelings about the possible start. Apparently Francona is a tough guy....go blow ya Boston chowdarheads!
  17. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 10:53 AM) Konerko isn't going anywhere this year. Why trade for him when you can just go after him in free agency next year anyway? It would have to be for a team looking for a power bat heading into the post-season...I don't have anyone in mind though. I love Paulie....but we really need someone else in the lineup who gets on base...his strikeouts and pop-ups are driving me crazy.
  18. I'm sure I'm going to get jumped on for this, but what if we traded Konerko? We'd have Gload...and we could put Dye at first...Everett in Right...and get something good for Paulie. I'm sick of this guy doing s***ty at the plate. He sat on 19 HRs for weeks...and he pops up or strikes out way too much....plus I doubt we're going to sign him next year.
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 08:42 AM) Not if he is playing 3rd for Crede... If Crede don't come back...we gone....I'll stop watching baseball!
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 07:24 AM) I so wish they would omit timo instead of Willie. Sending Willie down leaves them without any speed off of the bench and makes Timo your first option to PR. :puke We'd have Pablo...
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 09:59 PM) The chick holding the credit card....I call her squeaks. Hearing her talk makes your ears bleed. Especially if its over the stadium speakers...whose f***ing idea was that? Ouch. Back to the original idea...it made me feel better that the Angels lost...hopefully cross eyes took a nice beating in one of those games! he looks like the guy on the left side
  22. This first half has been a ton of fun...I've enjoyed the ballpark so much this year...and I can't wait to beat Pods in a race...next time buddy... you going down I hope Oakland rots in hell!
  23. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 10:08 AM) Freddie's pitching during the day. He'll shut them down. Yeah, but its not on the road We need a win today...or I'm really going to be pissed. This weekend has sucked.
  24. Its getting ridiculous with this demand for tickets!
  25. If you get tthere an hour and a half before the game...log G is $8
