Tori hunter doubled

Bob Wickman struck out Morneau for the first out in the bottom of the ninth.

The only way i would get rid of Frank is if the Sox got Chone Figgins, a bullpen arm, and a minor leaguer. Figgins is a super utility guy who can play third base....for crede, and a bullpen arm for Viz cause hes been sucking it up lately.

Brandon McCarthy To Make Major League Debut

"McCarthy to join Sox this weekend" http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws -
From what im guessing he wont be back until at least June. edit-- he could be back by then if everything goes well "ST. PETERSBURG -- The upcoming Minor League rehabilitation assignment for what should be an almost crucial cog in the White Sox offense currently is being scheduled on a system known as the Frank Thomas scale of pain. "It [left ankle] feels much better, and the pain level is now down to six or seven right now," Thomas said prior to Wednesday's series finale at Tropicana Field. "So, I said once I got to six, it would be manageable to play on. That's a good sign." Thomas hit early Tuesday, but took Wednesday off after experiencing soreness in his left ankle earlier this week. Nonetheless, Thomas believes that a decision on his trip to Triple-A Charlotte will be firmly made this weekend, in consultation with White Sox athletic trainer Herm Schneider. The Knights have home games on Sunday and Monday, before embarking on a seven-game road trip to Ottawa and Buffalo. The team then returns for an eight-game homestand, a stretch of games that could feature the White Sox's career home run leader in every one. Baseballs continue to fly off of Thomas' bat and into the stands during batting practice, but Thomas now has reached the level of diminishing returns in those sessions. He needs to test his game against live pitching -- the first time since July 6 of last season -- and with his confidence growing in terms of running out of the box and on the base paths at full speed, Thomas appears as close as he's been since injuring the left ankle to making the move. "It's manageable," Thomas said of the ankle. "It's OK. It's nothing pretty, but that's what I'm going to the Minor Leagues for, just to get used to doing it again. "I'm feeling pretty good. I'm getting close, so I'm going to just go try it. I'm ready. There's not much more batting practice I can do. It's getting old. It's not like I'm going to be a track star out there, but I can get from base to base, and that will be a key."

After tough losses like tonights
sayitaintso replied to Wise Master Buehrle's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:36 PM) I realize that losing to TB is frustrating, especially the way that we lost. But don't forget, there is a portion of Tampa that doesn't make them a pushover. If you saw a stat during todays game, they are leading the league in hits. That says a lot considering the powerhouse talent of many other teams. Unfortunately though, regardless of how Arow, Pk, & Dye did, we had enough other offense to beat them. We just handed them the game with the friggin' walks. I don't mind getting beat by being outplayed , but, that didn't happen today. Today, WE just plain lost! I did happen to hear that stat, and i do give the d-rays credit, but this sox team is susposed to be finding ways to produce runs( which they did tonight) and hold leads, which didn;t go so well for Jose and the Bullpen tonight. Tonights loss was just a tough loss. -
QUOTE(qwerty @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) No. With that if we did trade for him and we didn't sign huff to an extension or bring him back would it be worth trading top prospects for 1 year of service? IMO i don't think it is worth it.

They had the game and blew it. If they were getting blown out by Tampa then I could deal with it. But they had the lead, blew it, and then out Shingo in. Thats what sucked about tonight's loss. And i know its early and there is ike 125 more games but this still sucked. -
QUOTE(qwerty @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) You have to trade some good talent to get talent in return. This is not mvp baseball. I wouldn't want to if the player is only going to be here for the rest of the season then leave after its done to test free agency( i think huffs contract is done after this season). If the player we got was staying 3+ years then it would be less painless.

I agree as long as we don't give any of our good prospects in a trade.
-
They should either pitch him on fewer days rest earlier in the game or trade him while he is still worth something.

Anybody starting to worry about Konerko?

Another .500 season

That even though the sox have won every series, the sox have always won the first 2 games and then lost the last game for the sweep. I know its still early in the season(9 games) but that is a little weird. It seems the first two games everything is working and going right, but when that third game comes around, they just can't find ways to get things to work. That is just my opinion.

Iguchi very close to signing a 2 yr deal?
sayitaintso replied to Winnin Ugly's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) ESPN 1000 did say that Sox still have interest in Iguchi... they reported that today, so things may be stirring up i hope that we do get him signed. this could turn out to be a great pickup for the sox. -
QUOTE(Chisoxmatt @ Jan 21, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) I agree on turf it is much easier to judge the hops. I guess he's never played on turf before... Anyway i really hope KW signs him. We cant have a Middle infield that is as inexpirienced as the current. This is one guy thay we have to take a chance on, he could be huge for this team. If he flops, he flops. But if he does as well as he's done in his last two years in Japan, this could be a huge steal.
