  1. Nice post Steve. Can't wait until Jo and Rose are off the books so the bulls can get Jimmy a sidekick.

  4. QUOTE (Jake @ Jan 21, 2014 -> 03:12 PM) What would you give up for Eric Gordon? Anything? Derrick Rose (sadly I am only half joking)
  5. I just want to say Teague IS as bad as Steve says. Brian Scalabrini, during 11-2012, was 66 times better the player than Teague in 2013-14. A HUMAN VICTORY CIGAR was 66 TIMES BETTER! I doubt Teague would score anything during the Scal Challenge. EDIT FOR MATH. 69 TIMES BETTER DOUBLE EDIT for Relevant Pic.
  6. With arods 25 million off the books this year, you would think that clears the way for Tanaka to be a Yankee.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 10, 2014 -> 03:08 PM) maybe he had the quicker recovery surgery that Rose opted against, the meniscus shaving. I don't know. It did say repair. also , here is my favorite part "he's not going to rush back -- especially since this is the second right meniscus repair he's had in the last two years."
  8. Maybe someone can shed light on why Eric Bledsoe and the suns are not counting the season out despite him having the SAME injury, 2 months after rose. http://www.rotoworld.com/headlines/nba/222...-all-star-break
  9. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 9, 2014 -> 12:10 AM) I'm no longer a White Sox fan but Frank Thomas was my favorite player since day 1 of him being in the majors. Happy day.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 07:40 PM) Better question. Maddux in the HOF as a Brave or Cub... Go. You might have a better argument of picking the Padres over the Cubs than the Cubs over the Braves. Kidding. But it's really not close. The cubs blew it and let him walk.

  12. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 04:15 PM) Thrilled that Frank got in on the first ballot, my alltime favorite player. But very disappointed in the lack of support for Estaban Loaiza
  13. ugh bluejay helmet on frank for the deadspin ballot? yucky
  14. Jacque Jones got a vote. Jacque Jones. Wow.
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 03:39 PM) I stand by the thought that without his contributions in June, the Sox don't win the division. He hit a ton of big home runs. I watched every inning in 2005. Frank Thomas had a crazy HR ratio that year when he did play. without a few of those timely homers, we likely would have had a few more losses. Considering cleveland crept to 1.5 games behind us, I would say there is a good shot we would not have a 2005 banner without Frank. Was he a top 10 contributor that year? Nope. But top 20 for sure. Doing it on one leg as well. 2005 was pretty magical from Frank. 12 hrs in 105 abs is pretty damn impressive.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 8, 2014 -> 01:38 PM) Today a pitcher in Maddux's shoes would make $28 million a year... not over 5 years. It is admirable that he took 6 million less to play for the braves. (with Boras as his agent, no less)
  17. Maddux was almost a yankee and not a brave. http://www.nytimes.com/1992/12/10/sports/b...eel-jilted.html

  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 01:01 PM) I would be very surprised if Sacramento is a playoff team in the west in any of the next couple years. I could be wrong but I Think odds are that is a 2nd round pick, if not no pick at all. the thing is , they dont have to be a playoff team, and its not just the next couple years. they need to fall out of the bottom 10. Picks 11-14 is still a lottery pick. and its through 2017. They have a decent core with cousins, thomas, gay and mclemore. Those guys can get significantly better. This year is a long shot, but they are only 3 games from falling out of the top 10. I will guess it does not happen this year, but 3 more shots? I don't know how anyone can assume it will be a 2nd. I also like their dedicated owner, seems like he is more than willing to make moves to win now. basically we are rolling the dice on boogie cousins and considering he is 23 years old, with the 5th best PER in the league, I like our odds. You can say... but they are still the sacramento kings.... true... but they have not had a player at Cousins level since early 2000s Webber. All we need from the kings is to win about 30-33 games, 1 time, within the next 4 seasons. As long as cousins keeps his head on straight, then we will be getting a 1st rd pick sometime in the next few years.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 7, 2014 -> 12:10 PM) We got no worthwhile picks and saved some money this year. I realize the tankers are going to like it and if we end up with a great pick (by virtue of making the lottery), I suppose it works. But we clear Deng's money irregardless at year end and it is likely that we are getting 3 2nd round picks (plus the right to swap non-lottery picks with the Cavs in 2015). I'd have to think we could have at least gotten a legitimate future 1st for Deng. At this point, if we are truly tanking, we might as well amnesty boozer now. Is Noah going to get dealt? correct me if i'm wrong... but 2014 first round draft pick from Sacramento Sacramento's 1st round pick to Cleveland protected for selections 1-12 in 2014, 1-10 in 2015, 1-10 in 2016 or 1-10 in 2017; if Sacramento has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Cleveland by 2017, then Sacramento will instead convey its 2017 2nd round pick to Cleveland protected for selections 56-60 (if this pick falls within its protected range and is therefore not conveyed, then Sacramento's obligation to Cleveland will be extinguished) [Cleveland-Sacramento, 6/30/2011]

  22. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 03:43 PM) It's also going to be hilarious when the Packers win the division with Matt Flynn as QB.
  23. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Dec 20, 2013 -> 05:09 PM) Didn't Reggie Bush, Brandon Jacobs, Adrian Peterson and Alfred Morris all run for 100 yards those first 6 weeks? Jeremiah Ratliff feeds off Packer Nations Tears
