QUOTE(whitesox61382 @ Sep 29, 2006 -> 12:18 PM) I certainly wouldn't call Gordon to IU a lock at this point. Based on the most recent article I read about his visit to Bloomington, there were some mixed reviews. I said that Gordon would be at the UofI next year about a month ago, but I would say that it is 50/50 at this point. If Gordon does stick to the UofI, than that will certainly knock IU out of the running for Rose since it appears to be a package deal. Although, if Gordon does pick IU that doesn't mean that Rose is a lock for IU. You can usually get a good idea of where recruits are heading based on insider articles, but I must say that it is hard to tell with these two at this point. I still believe that Memphis is the leader for Rose if Gordon doesn't go to IU, and IU is the leader if Gordon does pick IU. Yeah, I wasn't being very serious when calling him a lock. My guesstimate is 60-40 he's going to u of i. And supposedly rose is going to memphis' midnight madness.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ Sep 29, 2006 -> 11:36 AM) dont put all your eggs in one basket, hes not a guaranteed to illinois yet. Weber is getting aced by every coach,he just cant recruit. Practically sounds like an iu lock at this point... But if going to u of i is what it takes to convince rose to come to DePaul, I'm all for it...

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 29, 2006 -> 09:30 AM) I only watched a couple bits of Scrubs the first season, and it did nothing for me. I was asking my wife if she has given it another chance yet (she's a nurse in a hospital and LOVES medical shows) and she said "not yet". I'm guessing I should? Same here, I barely got through a couple of episodes the first season and really didn't like it. Caught a re-run yesterday on comedy central from who knows what season. I guess the premise of the episode was the annoying main character having sex all day with some blonde nurse and bragging about it. Still don't like it.

PITCHING

Just wondering, what kind of CTA and metra link is being called for?
-
I still want my money back from the first one. It was like watching two of the shows back-to-back. Unless the "stunts" are so insane that 2 or 3 of them die, no need for a movie.

Link didn't work for me.

I hate the phrase "(Insert any word here) much?" When and where the hell did that start??

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 11:32 PM) So I went to Champaign this weekend to watch Illinois-Iowa Sorry to hear that... -
QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 25, 2006 -> 12:45 AM) That's the thing. None of the Chicago teams are going to move there. The Sox are locked in to USCF by the state and the US Cellular contract (although I suppose there's a chance US Cellular would agree to naming the new place US Cellular Field, but that would be stupid too). The Cubs sure as hell aren't leaving Chewing Gum Park until it collapses. I HIGHLY doubt the Bears would leave a newly-refurbished Soldier Field. The Fire just had Toyota Park built for them. That leaves.......................no one. Chicago's not getting a 3rd MLB team or 2nd NFL team, and no one would care if another soccer team came to town. There's no point in building ONE new facility, much less building it, tearing it down, and building a smaller one in its place. College sports, high school sports, concerts...

Prime reasons why the 2006 White Sox failed to repeat
SleepyWhiteSox replied to VAfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
PITCHING It's no coincidence that this team looked like dog s*** once the offense started to struggle...Since the offense is what kept the team alive for as long as it did, I hesitate to heavily criticize the offense for the offensive slump we ended with...The bats weren't gonna stay hot for an entire season and post-season run, so our lack of pitching is what ultimately killed us this season... -

P.S. I'm gonna develop a serious man-crush on Coach Wainwright if he can continue pushing the program forward... And the classic ib meltdown is always comical.

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) darquavis tucker to depaul. nice pick-up for wainwright. Now we need Mac Koshwal to finally commit. Although weber made a late push recently even though he stated he wasn't interested since Rose wasn't interested, we're still the favorite to get him. And I don't wanna get ahead of myself, get my hopes up, or jinx it...but should I be letting myself get excited about the possiblity of rose???

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 09:26 AM) Does a 4.4 era pitcher deserve 20 wins? If not then you should be thanking the offense for all the wins they got him early on. My thoughts exactly, which is why I wasn't in agreement when it was being said he should be considered for the Cy Young...

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 02:09 PM) National League. If my math is right, 14 games over by the time they played the cubs, their first nl series. Not too shabby.

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Sep 21, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) I mean: it seems like we've been playing literally .500 ball all season, but especially the second half. It does, but we didn't magically get to 20 over .500. Most everyone seems to forget that were were looking pretty good the first half...

Konerko's quote after the game yesterday
SleepyWhiteSox replied to ILoveThisGAme's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Whether true (which it probably is) or not, it's still such a bulls*** excuse. During the course of a full season, fatigue is a factor for every team, and one that does not need to be used as an excuse. If you're well enough to play, you should be capable of performing at an optimal level. If not, go on the DL. Frankly, I can't sympathize with millionare athletes who are too tired to win... The fact of the matter is that this team had the talent to at the very least make it back to the playoffs. But they under-achieved. Fair enough. They couldn't get it done. It sucks, but I'm not that terribly heart-broken, and will eventually start to get excited about next season. But, I could have done without the weak excuses. -
Ketchup and mustard is fine for me if I'm gonna microwave a cheap hot dog and eat it on a slice of white bread at home, but I think it's a big waste to ruin a good hot dog at a good stand or at the ballpark with ketchup, especially a Chicago-style dog. By the way, I miss Demon Dogs. 2.90 used to get me a great hot dog with mustard, relish, onions, and peppers, fries and a drink for lunch at DePaul. Probably wasn't so good for the waistline, but an affordable deal. Too bad it got closed.
