    Xbox 360

    QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:56 PM) ^^^^^^^ Me and several friends are thinking the same lines. You could probably get the Wii AND 360 with a couple of games each for the price of the ps3 by the time it comes out...
  2. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 09:32 AM) This article is good news for you... To me, it sounds like he didn't fully enjoy the visit. Also, if he doesn't like warm weather, FSU is f***ed. It's got to be ND in the lead. FSU student, alumni, or fan?
  3. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 02:19 AM) I can't wait till KU takes over Allstate, there are many of us in this town. Most of the rest of the DePaul fans are really, really old...very few students care to go...I'll be there cheering on my Demons... But like I said, I luv the out of conference schedule along with our Big East schedule...I CANNOT stand the sad teams most other good programs schedule...
  4. No more Summer. UC-Irvine coming to play DePaul on Dec. 20...about the only thing I'll applaud wainwright on is his scheduling... UAB, Rhode Island, Bradley & Northwestern on the road. Kansas, Cal, & Wake at Allstate. Plus 3 in Maui. More to come as the official schedule comes out...
  5. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 28, 2006 -> 12:40 AM) The Bulls in my mind won't be serious contenders in the East for another season or 2 at least. You'll need guys like Deng to actually hit their prime first. Don't forget that Chicago is still a very young team in terms of guys you have in your starting lineup etc. Still no need for tyrus thomas...
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 08:35 PM) It should be: C: Joe Mauer (MIN) 1B: Travis Hafner (CLE) 2B: Tadahito Iguchi (CHW) SS: Miguel Tejada (BAL) 3B: Troy Glaus (TOR) OF: Manny Ramirez (BOS) OF: Vernon Wells (TOR) OF: Jermaine Dye (CHW) Didn't you originally argue against glaus when I brought him up before?
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) Lalas at least tell the truth. After the US games, Wynalda was just making excuses, and Lalas called his ass out all the time, and it was great. I don't really like either of them, but I will say that I recall wynalda ripping the team, and especially arena, A LOT. He expressed being ashamed at the effort, and I believe it was on Sportscenter that he ripped arena completely for being completely classless when he was pouting and making hand gestures towards the refs after the ghana match instead of congratulating the opposing coach. He said he was embaressed because of the disrespect and complete lack of sportsmanship that arena showed, calling him a "fat coach" who looked ridiculous pouting, and he could not wait 'til a a new coach was brought in.
  8. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:07 PM) Pretty much. So, touche.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) I could keep going if you'd like. I didn't mention any Portugese, Spanish, or African players. 10 was a nice round number...and it depends on what you mean by "international superstar" but I'm not gonna get into an argument about what does or does not qualify as international superstar... Wanna fight? Anyways, we basically agreed on the other part...
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 03:33 PM) That's not true. There are ton's of superstars in the game today and most developed by their own countries. Ronaldo (Cruzeiro), Ronaldinho (Gremio), Roberto Carlos (Palmeiras), Kaka (Sao Paulo), and Adriano (Flamengo) all of Brazil. David Beckham was brought up by Manchester United. Wayne Rooney was brought up by Everton. Both from England. David Ballack (Chemnitzer) and Oliver Kahn (Karlsruher) from Germany. Andriy Shevchenko was brought up by Dynamo Kyiv of Ukraine. Italy has a bunch too. Gigi Buffon (Parma), Francesco Totti (Roma), and Alessandro del Piero (Juventus). Italians are a bit different because almost all of their players come from like 2 or 3 youth teams. Thierry Henry (Monaco) and Zinedine Zidane (Cannes) were both brought up by France. The USA just isn't meant for soccer. The sport will never blow up here. Many countries have numerous youth teams and recruit from such young ages. I believe Brazil has an under-8 team. I was being facetious (even though you only named 15 so saying 10 isn't that far off), but you basically agreed with my point with that last part. I don't foresee the mls ever being as good as leagues in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, France, Germany, etc...much less Italy, Spain, and England...so I'm not sure how you'd be expecting a homegrown superstar.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) Yeah, except that's not the way Juan pronounces it when he says it. However the person wants it pronounced is how it's pronounced. Really? I've never heard him say it, but with his Spanish accent I just can't picture him pronouncing it in the Americanized version...
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 01:45 PM) When the US develops it's own international superstar, it will become more popular. IE, when the US get's its own Pele, it's own Beckenbauer, it's own Luis Figo, then it will blow up. And don't you dare say Demarcus f***in Beasley or Brian McBride. Much, much, much, much, much easier said than done... There's probably only about 10 today and half are Brazilian.
  13. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 01:11 PM) But if MLS gets backing money wise, there really is no reason why they wont be able to draw the bigger athletes. The US is where the money is in the sporting world, and that is why you hear of Beckham's wanting to come here as they age. But aging players won't raise the level of play of the league, and I question just how much interest they'll bring. Will it be enough to entice more and more young boys to play? Doubtful. I just think this is one of those sports that won't ever catch on at the level needed to make the US a true contender on the world level...
  14. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) I also watched the Fire/Red Bulls last night and it wasn't the foul calls that stood out to me, but the complete low level of play. Exactly. About 10 minutes of watching that level of play was enough for me to quickly change the channel...
  15. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 11:31 PM) Uribe up with 2 outs. Game over.
  16. QUOTE(shoota @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) No. He lets everything drop in front of him. You try too hard...
  17. Anybody else never find this show funny?
  18. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 04:35 PM) I guess he IS getting Krunk tonite. Red Solo + RKT's = sexy krunk party no 'stache = unsexy
  19. QUOTE(holly wiggins @ Jun 25, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) Anyone who's not following this on the Jay The Joke blog is missing some really good stuff. http://www.jaythejoke.com/blog.html ***-gate...lol...
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) I can't believe you still don't get it. I get it completely but I still don't like the comparison. In a way, it's calling Ozzie selfish while I still think that he's more team-first, no matter how much he runs his mouth.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 10:29 PM) Just another episode of Ozzie being Ozzie. *laughtrack* Agreed...seems likes he's threatening to leave the team every year too...
  22. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jun 23, 2006 -> 03:20 PM) France's coach looks just like the guy from Life is Beautiful. Great minds must think alike...I had visions of him climbing over chairs on his way to the stage...
