  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 25, 2006 -> 02:47 PM) I demand there be a White Sox Catch-All thread, sometimes there's just a little thing about the Sox that has to be posted but does not require a new thread. A catch-all thread will also eliminate some of the 1-2 post threads you see in PHT all the time. I agree completely. I remember seeing this idea along with bringing it up before.
  2. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 25, 2006 -> 02:49 PM) I can only imagine how many people are actually at this game. It actually got a thread on here...Sox fans might actually be more interested in it than royals fans...
  3. I could probably write a book about all of the cute and funny things my 2-year-old brother says and does and annoy the hell out of everyone who dares to listen, but I'll spare everyone and just share this since it applies to the board... His new favorite thing to say to make me smile is "You can put it on the board...Yes!" (Ok, sometimes it'll just come out as "put in on the board, yes," but for the most part it's right on.) He'll also get a laugh out of saying "go cubs" to make me say "Noo!" since he knows I don't like it. Alright, I'm done being corny for now...
  4. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:55 PM) I guess I now have a drug of choice...
  5. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) what is difficult to understand about his quote? I think one guy was talking about how he likes the size and format of the paper and the other doesn't like the content...
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:30 PM) I'm very similar to you in this sense except I will discuss in game situations with the few people around me who actually give a damn about the game. Definitely that too. It's also nice to sometimes meet a new person who's fairly knowledgeable about the game to share insight.
  7. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:19 PM) They equate it with socializing, never shutting up, and walking around in the rows to talk to people. I'll agree with that. Saturday I randomly paused in between pitches and focused on the crowd noice. So much chatter going on, and you could just tell very little of it had anything to do with the game. I literally don't talk to people during games and get teased a little for looking overly-focused. Communication should be limited to spontaneous high-fives and incoherent screaming for big plays that your team makes.
  8. QUOTE(watchtower41 @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:08 PM) A point guard is not always relied upon to score. Rondo is a pure leader and arguablly the best defensive player in this draft. I would not mind ther Bulls snagging him at all for a backup guard with their 2nd 1st round pick, but I very highly doubt that he'll be there. ESPN has him ranked way too low. I can't stand professional basketball players not having a jump shot...
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:51 PM) Don't get me wrong, I hate Mariotti as much as anyone. I just know he's not going anywhere. There will never be a big enough boycott of the paper to get rid of him. I hate him but need my daily news fix. I like looking through both papers.
  10. QUOTE(SnB @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:48 PM) i thought the conan episode was pretty good Needed more Mr. T...
  11. QUOTE(Sox1422 @ May 25, 2006 -> 12:02 PM) I can't stand the little b****, but I enjoy reading his column. lol He's "the first word," I think, so I usually skim through it, depending on the topic. You can usually tell how horrible it's gonna be by the headline. It wouldn't be much of a boycott for me to not take a look at it since I already get the sun-times... It's just sad that a facade and fake over-the-top opinions are needed to get attention instead of trying to gain recognition with your own true thoughts and writings.
  12. QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 25, 2006 -> 01:36 AM) Thanks, I had no idea. Oh, no problem.
  13. They just mentioned something about the weather on Comcast. Anybody catch it?
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 24, 2006 -> 12:48 AM) You suck it up and watch a Thomeless group of world champs. Or go to more games...
  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 24, 2006 -> 01:13 AM) Does anyone have a clue as to why Ozzie was given the name Captain Hand? My guess is that it's a play on captain hook? Except Ozzie has both hands? QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 24, 2006 -> 12:56 AM) Sometimes they're hit-or-miss...
  16. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 24, 2006 -> 12:55 AM) Konerko can play center.

  18. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 23, 2006 -> 09:46 PM) He looks awful. Yet, apparently, he'd be doing much, much better than garland in the rotation...
  19. QUOTE(Felix @ May 23, 2006 -> 09:45 PM) Man, Uribe's defense sucks. s***ty and lazy defense this year...
  20. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ May 23, 2006 -> 12:14 PM) I find it funny that we're arguing about a player that I highly doubt either of us has seen in action though. I was thinking the same thing. I've not seen more than a few highlights so I tend to stay out of "potential" discussions.

    QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 22, 2006 -> 11:48 PM) Actually, I've already throat punched the multi-tasking guy so all is good. It's purposely corny...the remote guy made me chuckle the first time...
  22. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ May 22, 2006 -> 09:11 PM) The real problem is that people nowadays tend to get 'offended' or 'outraged' just for the sake of doing so. I feel the same way. You can't just give the same respect towards a group of people's religion and prayers as they would for you by just respectfully staying silent for the minute or two that the prayer will last, particularly when the prayers represent the majority? It pains you that much that you have to cry, complain, and make a huge deal about it? Are people really that pussified?
