  1. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 5, 2006 -> 04:10 PM) For thin, Falco's on Archer. You've never heard of it and you'll probably never go there. Archer and California in Brighton Park. Similar to Home Run Inn without being overpriced.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2006 -> 02:21 PM) Well they were here legally and documented... So if they become legal immigrants through amnesty (which, personally, I'm not for without strict specifications in which it must be earned), will all of you" strict adherents of the law" embrace them? After all, that has been the supposed cry of many of you. Their being here illegaly is what concerns you most since you follow all laws so thoroughly. Or do you just pick and choose which laws you agree with and which you don't?
  3. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 5, 2006 -> 12:52 AM) Well Anderson is about 10 times the defender ARow is... Impressive so far, but just like his hitting, I wanna give it more time before those kinds of claims...
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) He ran into the tarp, nothing you can do about that. Tad stumbled and fell himself. Not taking anything away from Tad's play but personally I think Joe's was better. I definitely don't wanna take anything away from those two plays either, but...Either could have been cleaner plays... The ball took an interesting hop for Iguchi so I won't call it him completely tripping over his own feet. Likewise, Crede could maybe have held onto the ball better upon impact. Wanna take this outside? Just a matter of preference, but I wanted to state my reasoning.
  5. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ May 5, 2006 -> 12:20 AM) I'm actually going to have to go Joe here. Tad's play was outstanding but he was the one who kind of caused it to be outstanding. The concentration that Joe had to have for that play is just ridiculous. He kinda caused it to be outstanding by bobbling it a bit too, no? It's Iguchi for me hands down. Bobbles will come and go, but we're not gonna see a ball thrown from that angle in a long while, if ever...
  6. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ May 2, 2006 -> 11:11 PM) You didn;t have a Chinese version of Telemundo. You mean you don't get any Asian channels??? Maybe give the bunny ears a try. That must suck. I have no idea what they're saying, but their samurai soap operas look kinda cool, and their game shows are crazy.
  7. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:58 PM) How about damage to our educational system? In LA, the enrollment is 714,000 students, of which 72% are Latino. Not all Latinos are illegal immigrants. Not all Hispanic children are children of illegal immigrants. Everyone born in the United States is a citizen. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:58 PM) The damages economically could vastly outweigh any benefit they provide. I'm eager to see that from a credible, reliable source.
  8. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:53 PM) Some of the designs Ive seen for a border wall you'd need a lot more than a ladder. The cost is ridiculous...let's build more bridges in Alaska while we're at it...
  9. Worthless, pathetic, brutal...I just don't know with tyson anymore...
  10. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:37 PM) Greek Town, China Town, Little Italy I'm not so certain immigrants in the past were much different. Exactly. They're no different in that regard to any other group of immigrants, no matter how far back you go.
  11. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ May 2, 2006 -> 10:32 PM) Tex, I believe this to be true, ONLY if the immigrants coming to our country truely want to be a prt of this country. There are too many hyphens around nowadays and not enough 'American'. Immigrants in the past were happy and thankful to be here, and usually did thier best to become an American, not to be a Mexican living in America. I can almost assure you that first-generation past immigrants were just as stubborn in preserving their homeland culture, if not more. There is always a strong sense of pride about your roots and where you came from, where you were born, and, especially, were you grew up and were raised. It's natural. But just take a look at the second generation, at the sons and daughters of immigrants, and tell me that they are not as Americanized as children from 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. generations. They'll be proud of being Mexican-American and of their heritage, as well they should be, but their loyalty and support will be towards their own country, the one they will live the rest of their lives in. Hell, some grow up speaking very little or forgetting Spanish. No second generation kid would even give returning to Mexico or whatever country their parents came from a thought.
  12. It's brutal. He makes it tough to be patient and optimistic by showing very little signs of improvement.
  13. What's the release date for the DS Lite?
  14. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 2, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) YOU *WANT* this to be more then it was. Thanks for clarifying this. * *
  15. QUOTE(JimH @ May 2, 2006 -> 01:41 PM) It wasn't Buehrle's day today. Story of the game, folks. Let's not get stuck on the lineup because we knew coming into the season that we'd have lineups like today.
  16. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 2, 2006 -> 01:38 PM) Liriano approves of Logan's performance. logan > liriano
  17. I hope this builds his confidence so that he can do this in pressure situations.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ May 2, 2006 -> 01:35 PM) I do lol Someone dig up the cubs and Sox fans thread to show how many people do care...
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 2, 2006 -> 01:30 PM) You take our normal lineup, we can absorb the two non hitters in it. When you sprinkle the 3 to 4 subs with that, you take out Dye and Thome, its a formula for crap. Woulda taken at least 8 runs...no way Ozzie takes Mark out early...
  20. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 2, 2006 -> 01:27 PM) Too bad for Buehrle. Either he steps up and adjusts, or we're going to go through this several more starts. Aces adjust. I just won't accept a shoulder shrug or "tipping our caps." He may pitch against Cleveland 3/4 more times depending on scheduling. Can't have 4 or more runs scored every game when we're battling their team down the stretch. Agreed. I'll take the poor outing, but come back the next one firing.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ May 2, 2006 -> 01:22 PM) There's absolutely no way to know that. Without our pitching staff being incredible, there's likely no championship. It's not like our hitters tore the cover off the ball in the World Series. It's too hard to tell that if what worked last year, will work this year. Lets just hope Dye can get healthy soon. Also possible we avoided serious injuries by not overworking our main guys. Just a thought.
  22. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 2, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) C'mon Rock, he's not hitting .420 after just one month. He's useless. I'm all for being patient with a rookie, but damn is he f-in' frustrating...
  23. QUOTE(fathom @ May 2, 2006 -> 01:12 PM) Dye started the game. He's not part of the 3 starters out that we're mad about. I have no problem with Thome sitting today. However, Pods should have definitely been in the lineup. It's not a big deal though....hopefully Ozzie realizes that his 33 pct off lineups are 0-2 now, while his normal starting lineups with Pods, Iguchi, Thome, PK, Dye, AJP, Crede, Uribe, and Anderson have an extremely high winning pct so far. I'm not sure if Buerhle helped the cause much...
