QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 11:47 PM) Me thinks Tyson should start more.... He would not have been demoted if he had done this consistently. Now let's see him string a few games like this together before we hand over a permanent starting spot again. -

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 07:37 PM) Paul should easily win the ROY. He's been ROY since probably about the second week... -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) Juwan Howard scored 30? Damn you guys are in trouble. Hey now. He's been averaging over 20 his last 6 games, I think. He's been a scorer lately with Yao out and T-Mac injured. Plus I'll take all the help I can get in that roto league we're in. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 12:02 AM) Oh and Tyson got injured again. He jammed his finger. Uh...no comment. Well, I hate to say it, but I'm not minding the Bulls' losses much anymore. All their is to look forward to is a good lottery pick. Talent upgrade is an obvious must...unless they waste more picks, which they've proven to be very capable of. I won't be complaining if the knicks and Bulls keep losing... By the way, I like seeing when a guy goes for 20+ boards. Since I don't see him play much, how much upside do you figure Dwight has?

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 02:21 AM) I dont really like complaining about fouls either, because the Bulls as a team are not good at drawing fouls while attempting shots, but I will have to say that Kirk Hinrich gets killed in the lane almost every night and rarely gets calls. Skiles goes absolutely apes*** when it happens too, I usually notice when Red and Dore start talking about him. I don't like the complaining mostly because of how long it's been going on, but hopefully it serves its purpose and the Bulls get a few calls so that we don't have to hear it anymore. But the truth is that this team has no inside presence and rarely penetrates. Kirk oftentimes drives in looking to kick it out, not necessarily to draw contact to get to the line. And their are NO superstars to get star/veteran calls. They have no reason to expect to ever get more calls than most other teams. By the way, there isn't a call that Red and Dore don't want to go the Bulls' way. -

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) How bout my Hoos. We played a mediocre game and still won!!! But seriously. It will be much tougher to say that next year with the class you guys are bringing in. We'll get what we can take!! Thank you Depaul for Dave Leitao! I've been keeping an eye on the virginia scores from a distance...losses to fordham and western kentucky come to mind... With what you're paying him, he better pan out. And if he prospers, UConn might be sending you a thank you too when Calhoun retires. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 10:59 PM) Ben Gordon has the basketball IQ of a bag of dirt. Tie game, 5 seconds left. Songo doesn't have anyone with in 8 feet of him yet Ben shoots with 2 hands right in his face. Overtime.... :headshake Well, he certainly redeemed himself (even though I thought the celebrating was a little excessive)... Anyways, the guy who really does have the b-ball IQ of a bag of dirt is tyson...the moronic fouls, stupid turnovers, cluelessness on offense, 30% free-throw shooting...It's starting to get beyond ridiculous. What the hell is wrong with him? I wasn't expecting this kind of horrible regression... -
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 19, 2006 -> 12:12 AM) Its not faulting someone. Its against the rules. Just like if a fight breaks out on the court, you are not allowed to leave the bench to help your teamate even if he is getting his ass handed to him. It doesnt matter, you dont leave the bench. Gail Fisher is now reporting a fine and possibly suspension is coming down the line. His dumbass action has more and more repurcussions. He felt that it could have escalated, so he did what he felt was necessary to protect his wife, which is what any real man would probably do. He didn't get physical either, but he was there to make his presence felt, and I don't blame him. And I have a feeling that he'll accept the consequences without any problems, as long as they don't get ridiculous. I bet NOBODY on his team faults him for what he did, and I don't consider it a dumbass action. As has been mentioned, he has a history of being a classy and well-respected guy in the league.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jan 18, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) Bwahahahaha. There goes any chance of them winning anything. Were they in the hunt for a national title? Or do you mean they'll never win a game again this year if he really does quit the team? Wilson Chandler is definitely a talent, but by no means the focal point of this team. I don't take anything away from his rebounding and flashes of brilliance, but he has still been prone to poor freshman mistakes and nights of horrible shot selection. He's been a solid contributor as a freshman in the starting lineup along with Currie. His future is obviously bright. Anyways, this is all pure speculation. I will not be surprised to see him back on the team, if he really has quit. As is mentioned in the link, Wes Green quit the team prior to this season but thought it through and came back. Sammy also took some time off during the season last year to take care of personal problems. It's unfortunate that this occurs, and it upsets me as a fan of the program since it reflects poorly on the players being recruited and their character, but that's how it's been with these young guys. And as for the the statement that "their goes their chances of winning anything," I have no idea what you mean. This is a team in transition with only one scholarship senior and two freshman starting, along with a brand new coach (one that I'm not a big fan of yet) in a new conference. Prior to the season the consensus amongst DePaul team was that this was a team that needed to grow, and the NIT has been what is expected. The bubble talk has come because of their strength of schedule, which is about third in the nation, and a few wins against solid teams. But the losses against teams we should be beating shows that this team is too inconsistent to be a legitimate Tournament team. Some of it has to be attributed to, as I mentioned before, having a new coach and young players getting acclimated. The rest I blame on poor coaching and preparation. -

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jan 12, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) It isn't a stretch at all for me, I have faith. It would be a stretch for you, you have faith in those that have misled you, and have written in books at your home, that there is no God. That is your faith. You mock faith, yet we use faith every day. Drive down the road and you have faith that an oncoming car will not cross the median. Get on a roller coaster at Six Flags involves faith in the person who assembled and maintained the ride. To believe someone loves you, you have to have faith that what they say is the truth and their actions are real, not an act. That's faith. Thank you for trying to brainwash me into the cult of disbelievers, but I will pass and be happier for it. Your Cult is without a moral compass. Your cult has no basis. Enjoy your cult, raise your kids in your cult, end your life in your cult. Every step of the way, believers like me will be praying for your salvation. And my only problem throughout these discussions has been the blatant disrespect shown towards others' beliefs. I'm all for others having different beliefs, but please do me the courtesy of not disrespcting mine by using profane language and ignorant assumptions when discussing (or constantly critisizing, as has been the case) the organization that represents my faith. The "priests are pedophiles" talk is just sad... If you think your way of thinking is better, good for you. It just annoys me to be asked why I believe what I believe just because the other person doesn't and thinks their way of thinking is far superior. I don't question others' beliefs out of respect and feel that I deserve the same. I just didn't think that mutual respect would be such a foreign concept on here... -

QUOTE(Beltin'Bill @ Jan 12, 2006 -> 12:32 AM) Hey Athomeboy and Anthraxfan...Is it possible that all these Mexicans you know actually speak English but don't feel like conversing with you two? I apologize for laying out an insult to fellow Sox fans, but you have ruined a potential interesting discussion on a great marketing effort with your baseless stance on Latinos and why they need to learn English. If you are so impressed with the multi-lingual cultures of Europe, maybe you should make an effort to learn Spanish, which is arguably the most important language for any American to learn after English. My guess is these Latinos you criticize speak and understand a lot more English than you will ever learn of Spanish. The fact is WSCR is potentially helping the White Sox expand their fan base by tapping into the fastest growing ethnic group in the nation. I would much rather embrace any of them as fellow Sox fans (in any language), than someone who throws blanket statements and passes judgement on immigrants trying to make a better life for their families. Now that's a perfect first post. Well-said. Welcome. -

QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Jan 12, 2006 -> 12:44 PM) My statement may have been oversimplified a bit, but I do believe that the majority of the bible is either "Titanic" meaning a completely fictional story is created around a few hostoric facts, or borrowed from other cultures/religions. Psst...everybody knows the stories aren't all 100% accurate...That really has not been disputed as of late. It's the teachings that are of significance. -
QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) What screen names do you use elsewhere? SleepyBlueDemon at a DePaul basketball message board and Sleep on a message board that a few former cbs sportline posters, including myself, formed...cbs was similar to the espn boards with all of the trolls, but a few of us were tight-knit, fun group that posted very often and continue to on our own board... Sleep was just a knickname I got the first year in college living in the dorms because I slept through a lot of classes at FSU, sometimes while actually in the class whenever I attended...so my dormmates called me that and I made it into an aim name...

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) He's got a full contract to play through before he would really reach his "Prime years". He's being paid like a player who needs to perform NOW. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 10, 2006 -> 07:42 PM) I still can't help but remember that Jermaine O'Neal really didn't start breaking out as a quality player until his 6th year. This is what happens when you draft a high schooler...it takes a while for them to grow into the part. I'm just going to hope Tyson does grow into something. Bad example. Jermaine was stuck at the end of the bench of a deep, veteran Blazers team. tyson, on the other hand, has gotten his opportunities, and their has been no consistent flashes of brilliance to show me that he is capable of being the superstar some of you keep trying to tell yourselves and everyone else that he will be. I still see a weak player (and injury-prone as of late) with NO knowledge on offense and subpar basketball IQ (the mistakes he makes baffle me sometimes). But if tyson can be Dalembert-like, I'll be ecstatic. -
