  1. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 06:05 PM) I believe that's what the kids call getting 'pwn3d'. An organization with such a history should have no place being the beacon that proclaims itself the moral compass and moral leader of the world.
  2. QUOTE(quickman @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 04:05 PM) Look one day this lightening bolt we are on will come to an end. Then we can rebuild. Until then, we get better with proven players (superstars) build the fan base and win divisions. Prospects usually don't pan out. That simple. I'll have to agree...I'm kinda in the mood for trying to win more of these championships while the pitching is where it's at...
  3. QUOTE(mreye @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 03:57 PM) Thank you. While you don't care you have. Me being one. I think any appeasement of rape, abuse of children is evil. That shouldn't be a reflection of me as a Catholic or any other practicing Catholic. We're more outraged than any non-Catholic. Trust me. I should not be condemned and insulted because or the despicable few. Thank you. Learn to choose your words and wording carefully unless you're serious about being a dickhead and not caring about who you offend... I mean, c'mon...Fascism??? An organization that condones systematic rape??? Now do you honestly believe that sort of warped bulls*** or did you choose those words to get a reaction? I don't know what to say if that's what you really believe...
  4. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 03:44 PM) A one dimensional player that basically beat Uconn by himself. Yeah, i'd hate to have him on my team too. On the nights he's off... But yeah, good win for the Gold. DePaul @ Cinci tonight, so here's hoping for the best...
  5. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 03:43 PM) LOUD NOISES!!! Brick: Yea, I stabbed a man in the heart. Ron: I saw that! Brick killed a guy. Did you throw a trident? Brick: Yea, there were horses and a man on fire and I killed a guy with a trident. Ron: Brick, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safe house or a relative close by because you're probably wanted for murder.
  6. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) Before you pile on the s*** storm, if he was posting when the thread was locked, he can still post and not know the difference. I've done that before and not meant to. He didn't. Noone was posting after it was closed. I'm glad someone else noticed it and brought it up. Yep.
  7. QUOTE(Adam G @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 03:24 PM) Note to self: pat self on back to ensure intellectual superiority when the ad hominems come back at you. lol...
  8. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 03:13 PM) How can anyone say that Contreras of 2005 was better than Prior of 2003. Seriously, stop cherry picking stats. Prior's whole season was better, his 2nd half was better, his POSTSEASON stats were better. Just take off the homer hat and see clearly. I didn't say one was better than the other, just that both performed at a high enough level that they merit comparison. It isn't exactly shocking that an NL pitcher is gonna have the better stats...Do you own a prior jersey or something? I'm still not sure why comparing them is such a crazy concept...
  9. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) How is that my opinion. I posted statistics that were ALL in favor of Mark Prior. In 2003, he was better than Contreras was this year, even if you isolate only the 2nd half, Prior still has better numbers. QUOTE(Adam G @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 03:03 PM) 11-2 2.96 in the second half (AL, not NL) and 3-1 3.09 in the playoffs is hardly chopped liver. Prior allowed more hits in '03 than Contreras allowed last year as well. It's really not as bad of a suggestion as you're making it out to be. Jose looked great in the 2nd half and playoffs...
  10. Good season. Let's do it again next year.
  11. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 01:17 PM) Look at Andrei's stats from last night's game against the Lakers: 14 Points 8 Rebounds 9 Assists 6 Steals 7 Blocks There ain't another player in the league who could put up a statline like that. The Jazz are now 14-8 when Kirilenko plays, and 2-8 without him. His impact is beyond comprehension. KG comes to mind. I have the same message for Kirilenko as a couple of your other favorites, camby and tyson...STAY HEALTHY
  12. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 08:42 PM) What a bunch of fascist whiners. They can openly condemn a cartoon but yet the same organization hides systematic rape, molestation and abuse for over 40 years from all authorities & puts priests into new parishes so they can harm children all over again. f***ing hypocritical bastards. Gotta luv an unintentionally funny post...
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 10:47 PM) However, if we do trade Contreras, my only argument is that I hope we get equal value to what we gave up in our two previous trades. i.e. NOT a trade centered around taveras...
  14. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) Well, if it was Balta1701, I would have to take this seriously. he has almost 8,000 posts, since April! Wow, he is filled with baseball 411. Or too much time on his hands.
  15. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 11:27 PM) I meant more along the lines that high draft picks don't always lead to top prospects. You can still draft busts like Jeff Liefer, Bobby Seay, Jason Dellaero, Jason Stumm, Joe Borchard, and Kris Honel with high draft picks. Obtaining "proven" top prospects from another team is different than trying to draft good players with high draft picks. And apparently the argument is moot since we won't get picks for him anyways, correct?
  16. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 08:56 PM) Of course I don't even know if it will see a 2006 release date. Various Reports are saying a 2007 release date is very possible after the PS3 developmental units have been found to be severe fire hazards. And by that I mean them randomly bursting into flames. lol... If nintendo really does stick to their price point of $150, which what I believe I have heard, or *gasp* $99, my decision will be made... $500 is way too steep for me. That's what ps3 will probably be, right?
  17. QUOTE(AirScott @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 10:57 PM) it's a message board, a device meant for people to come together to over-react, complain, and b**** about their favorites teams' mistakes and bad plays. then, if there's time, possibly have a few intelligent discussions about those teams. you may not expect much from those teams some years, but you still want to see them do well. and when they don't, people tend to over-react, b****, and complain. As opposed to merely pointing out his particular complaining out of the blue, I was explaining to him why I asked the question that I asked, but thanks for explaining the intricancies of a message board to me. I wouldn't call him the most cordial poster either. Anyways... tyson's line tonight: 11 min., 2 boards, 2 blocks, 0-2 for 0 points previous game: 14 min., 0 boards, 1 block, 1-2 for 2 points, 3 turnovers Talk about disappointing...Is there more wrong to him than is being said? I knew he wasn't as good as some here build him up to be, but never this bad. Maybe I should add fuel to the fire by commenting that curry had 20 points, 15 boards, and a block. Never mind that is was triple OT.
  18. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 10:28 PM) When was I ever surprised and does anything about "The Bulls are in the process of blowing another game at home." seem surprised to you? You overreacted, complained, and b****ed about their mistakes and bad plays in the game threads, when they were made, as if you expected more from this sad group of players. Hence my question.
  19. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) The Bulls are in the process of blowing another game at home. Don't tell me you're still surprised at how bad they are...
  20. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) If by hotter you mean with 8 lbs more eyeliner, and a very masculine jaw, then yes. She's no hurley but definitely hot...
  21. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 03:26 PM) From another thread; You claim you "couldn't have said it better" even though quickman started a sentence with "And," and also used "there" instead of "their." You shouldn't be jumping on anyone else's grammar. It's silly when arguments get petty...
  22. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 2, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) Uribe is a better defender then Jeter there is no doubt about that in my mind. That being said Jeter is still a solid defender and while Jeter may be a little overrated in general, he is so underrated on this board it's ridiculous. I'll agree, but it's just backlash from just how overly-glorified he is. Personally, I like hearing the "intangibles" argument. Can't have a jeter discussion without it.
  23. QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 11:47 AM) I would have to say the lakers made the right choice. Shaq has done s*** the last 2-3 years while being one of the highest paid players in the game. Kobe at least plays and plays damn good even if he looks like an idiot with his spandex. So you think the lakers have been better off without shaq? The best choice, in my opinion, would be for both players to quit their b****ing, get along, and continue to play at a high level. Shaq can still be dominant. They would still have been contenders. And I don't buy into the money argument. We're paying tim thomas a s***-load for nothing. I think the knicks still pay penny and houston some sort of ridiculous amount too. We might still be paying eddie robinson for all I know. Since coming back, shaq has been showing that he can still play. He can't completely dominate a whole game anymore, but very few can, and he still can be a force. But I'm glad things happened as they did. I dislike the lakers. Good for them.
