  1. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) It would be huge to not have to face the Big 3 again. Yeah, nobody's ever blown a 3-0 lead in the Series. Doesn't mean it can't happen. Up until last year, nobody ever blew a 3-0 lead in the LCS. If we falter tomorrow, not only do we have to face one of their 3 best pitchers, but we seriously oxygenate a fire that is on the verge of burning out now. We went above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to surviving their Big 3. With the way our starting and relief pitching has been faltering, and with the latent talent that those three have, we don't want to risk it. Win it tomorrow, put our minds at ease. Is an ultra-pessimist's glass just completely dry and empty?
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Blum is just gonna have to go yard. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 12:44 AM) I'm sorry, but this is f***ing pathetic that we're in Game 3 of the World Series, and we've put ourselves in a huge disadvantage because Ozzie wanted to keep one of his "guys" on the roster. If the Sox were to lose this game, and go on to lose the WS (I pray that they don't), I'll always have a bad feeling in my stomach about Hermanson over Jenks. Go Sox! I won't. I'm perfectly fine with that call. It was the two previous pitchers that just didn't get the job done, and Jenks wasn't a sure thing either. s***, we may still win this...
  4. I think it was mentioned before that MLB made the choice in a previous WS? If so, no reason to change that now. And has it been decided whether it will be open or closed?
  5. Would it matter if I'm in the 1st league? Is anybody else doing more than 1?
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) I agree he'll likely not be here next year.. but could you have a little more respect for your fellow teammates and finish this years job first..? I didn't catch it so I'm not sure of the tone. He's been fairly PC for a while now, in my opinion. Fairly calm and respectful. He's been praising his team and basically called the GS luck because it was what he was looking for. I think I prefer that response than an outright lie. Wouldn't it be worse if he said something like "I want to be a White Sox forever and I never want to leave this city, love the organization and fans, will do everything I can to stay, etc..." and then he bolts?
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) You mean the media, right? I saw the interview on tv and the family was making light of it, not laying blame. Sounded like a joke. Much different then the article appears to be portraying it. No, the family. There's no obligation to go on TV news. They chose to tell it that way.
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) Any thought to becomming a Red Sox...? "Ohh... I dunno. I'm open to hearing offers" Cute. Well, he will be.
  9. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) Good lord, I didn't realize how loaded the Maui Invitational is this year. Yes, one of the teams is Chaminade as always, but the other 7 are Arkansas, Arizona, Connecticut, Gonzaga, Kansas, Maryland, and Michigan State. That should make for some exciting matchups. Whichever team comes out of that alive is probably going to have a huge year. DePaul will be there next year.
  10. QUOTE(J-MAN @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) Awesome avatar - been a while since I saw the original Demon logo!!!! Graduated from DePaul a long time ago - still have a t-shirt with the original logo. I luv the old Billy Blue Demon logo, and I'm currently at DePaul. I'm really hoping the school licenses the old logo because no new merchandise has been made with it in quite a while, and I prefer it much, much more than the current one.
  11. I wouldn't even pay to see the Bulls or 'Hawks.
  12. I taped Game 1 on VHS, and it looks kinda s***ty. I watched it again that same night, and it looked like it was taped 10 years ago. VHS sucks. I also forgot to buy more tapes to tape the rest. Oh well.
  13. QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) I was also told by a friend of mine (Angels fan) that he was put on waivers so they could make room for.... Josh Paul on their 40-man roster. Nope. http://www.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/ana/news/ana...s_ana&fext=.jsp
  14. It's just a quick song... I don't see it as a problem.
  15. QUOTE(southsider17 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:20 AM) I also noticed you were one of the ones b****ing about comments here. Join the fun! Welcome to Soxtalk!
  16. Yeah, they were on one of those prime-time news shows. Cute little girls, but completely misguided. Oh well. They'll be rebelling against their idiot parents and dating black guys by 17.
  17. Decent. And they look like cut-scenes. The graphics for 360 are being called underwhelming.
  18. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 02:46 PM) Nope, the Knicks don't like him. What's Paul McPherson doing these days?
  19. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 08:19 AM) Thanks. I also checked online and found it from a few different places for $35 or so. Problem is I don't know exactly what size to buy so I'm just gonna go try looking at the mall by my house with a Finish Line, Lids, and All-Stars. Yeah, definitely try on your fitted cap before you purchase. Sizes tend to run slightly different depending on the company. The caps are $32 on-line and at the Sportmart that I went. The ALCS shirts were $25 on-line and $22 at the store. But then again, I was at the downtown location. Does anyone know if they're any cheaper at any other stores anywhere else?
  20. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 11:11 PM) May I ask where you got that hat? It's the one thing I MUST have from the World Series. Sure. They had plenty at the the Sportmart in downtown at 620 N. La Salle St. It was a must-buy for me too, but I was hoping the WS logo would be stitched on instead of how it's placed. Oh well. I still like it A LOT.
  21. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) Steve Martin rules. I watched Bowfinger the other day, and I think that movie got a raw deal. I thought it was really funny. I really liked that one and Sgt. Bilko.

    Shoes

    I luv gym shoes. I like buying ones that I know will last me a good while, and I haven't purchased a new pair in over a year. I feel like the ones I have won't go out of style anytime too soon. These are my new balance 2001's, and my personal favorites: I still have my Air Jordan XIV's in good condition: And I also have white All-Star's and some old-school basketball Avia's. And my dressier shoes, which I rarely wear, are a pair of black Bacco Bucci's and an older pair of brown ones.
  23. Yeah, that shirt is nice. I also caved in and splurged on that damn overpriced cap with the WS logo and the ALCS shirt. Seeing the players wearing them made them practically a must-have for me, and I sure as hell can't afford an authentic jersey with the WS patch. There's one more shirt I'm planning on buying...no need to mention which it is. I'm also saving the stickers and receipt in case they go on sale within 90 days so I can buy it sale-priced, switch the stickers, and return them. Yeah, this poor college student is that cheap.
  24. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) they did that in 2000 as well. Did we in '03?
