This was kinda cool... Of course we're hot.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 21, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) Where is the love for Unhappily Ever After? That show was atrocious. She was hot, but that can't make up for how horrible that show was.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 04:38 PM) Excuse me? what about the gambling trip right in the middle of the playoffs one year? One whole incident? It's well-known that the media was fairly protective of Jordan and kept many things on the hush for him. Again, I stand by my statement that the way he conducts himself in front of the cameras and in public should be emulated.

All of the dirt on Jordan didn't come out 'til way after the fact. Regardless of his private matters, which I'm sure weren't any worse than the average pro athlete (I know, that ain't sayin' much), the way he conducted himself while in the public eye should definitely be emulated. I like his classy and professional demeanor much more than the thug mentality.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 11:43 PM) Some people would like to know why other teams have a lottery or different system than this team, and I think that it is a very valid question. Nobody here knows the answer. I don't perceive it as b****ing if the Sox organization is asked this question because they obviously would be the most informed and would have the answer. I highly doubt the organization would be clueless as to why the situation is different for them. Even if the MLB makes all the decisions regarding WS ticket sales, I would imagine that an explanation would have to be given to the teams as to why they do it differenty for each situation.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) I have no explanation as to why Collins shunned Illinois, other than the fact that he made a quick 180 about a month ago after his coach, Anthony Longstreet, decided to be a larger factor in his decision making. I'm not buying the coach excuse. -
QUOTE(kevin57 @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 10:46 PM) Difference: Marrotti is always slamming everything Sox: organization, fans, ballpark. The key word again = always The key one for me is that he does rip the fanbase. As petty and stupid his dislike for the Sox organization, Hawk, and whatever stupid s*** he's writing about or spewing on TV (Is any sports columnist likable after being on espn a couple of time? Is any sports columnist likable at all?) on any given day, what I dislike most is the way he likes to talk s*** about the fanbase. Why would any self-respecting Sox fan like this douchebag after all of the stupid remarks and bulls*** comments he's made about us as fans?

QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) Plain and simple: Weber doesn't know how to recruit big-time players with big-time egos. There was a particular super recruit last year that chose Kansas over the Illini that really didn't care for Weber. All these accusations being made by the Illini camp that Kansas cheated to get Collins is PATHETIC to me for the following reason: Trust me, Self didn't learn how to cheat at Kansas. If he cheats now, he was cheating at Illinois. If you're on the Illiniboard, go and read what Deron Williams mom had to say about Self. That's exactly what I was alluding to. I agree. -

Do any illini fans think it's just a case of self being a better recruiter and kansas being a more attractive option? I liked our chances with rose before traitao left, and in a discussion between a few fans and a former assistant coach, he was hinting that we were doing well in recruiting him. Now that Leitao left, I'm not surprised when I see recruits losing interest and DePaul losing out on recruits that were seemingly on their way here. All I ask for is a top 50 recruit commit next year. Wainwright has a lot of work to do, especially since many DePaul fans were not impressed by the hire. Tough schedule this year too. It'll be interesting to watch this year's freshman, which is a top 20 recruiting class, grow. -
QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 01:00 PM) The hat part is over the line, especially the hat Shaq is wearing, I love fedora's etc. But hearing NBA players complain about a dress code is hilarious. Most businesses out there make their employees dress atleast business casual. I highly doubt Shaq would get fined wearing that. I'm sure there will probably be plenty of leniency. And it's definitely funny watching overpaid athletes b**** about a simple rule that almost all of working America has to follow.

QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 10:13 PM) What are the odds that you get swindled for fake tickets? How can you prevent it? That's the greatest pic in sig I've ever seen... All of my day's frustrations represented by a single image. Thanks.

QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 12:26 PM) Lottery. At least then you don't THINK you are 2 minutes away from getting a ticket. And don't have to worry about a slow server when you are submitting your CC number as your tickets get released. That's where I'm still stuck. I guess I'm gonna give up.

QUOTE(CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) I had 3 tickets to game 2 and Ticketbastard FROZE during at the credit card submission page!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ME TOO!!! I STILL HAVE THE f***IN' PAGE UP! DO I WAIT??? s***, I NEED TO LEAVE IN 2 MINUTES...

QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 12:16 PM) Just got 4 for game 1. How long was it stuck on the: "Processing... Please wait while we process your request. We'll ask you for your billing address and credit card information in just a moment. If you refresh this page or hit the back button, you will lose your place in line." ??? I've been waiting for 16 minutes! On this same damn page! I thought I got through but now it froze before I could give my credic card info!!! :( :( :( :(
-

Could the Sox have an "Angels effect" on Chicago?

QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Oct 17, 2005 -> 02:24 PM) I find it amusing because I highly doubt the tourists and casual Cub fans are itching to now buy this stuff simply because we won. Or maybe there are just tons of bandwagon jumpers out there--who knows? Sox merchandise is selling extremely well. And that is exactly why people are buying it...because the Sox are winning. -
