  1. Well, with allan houston making 18 million a year, keith van horn at 14 mill, brian grant 13 mill, tim thomas 13, antonio davis getting 13 mill from the Bulls, and damon stoudamire about 12 million, I'm not so sure that Bobby Simmons (yes, a fellow DePaul man ), coming off a year in which he emerged as a solid player with 16 and a half points per, 6 boards, and 44% from beyond the arc is much of a stretch for getting about 9.4 mill per year. Although it was higher than I expected, I still congratulate a Chicago guy for going out and earning it.
  2. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 06:30 PM) First still shot was from 1985's "Breakfast Club", the other was 2001's "Not Another Teen Movie." About 15 years apart. My bad. I forgot to mention that it was him taking up his The Breakfast Club role again for that horrible teen movie spoof...
  3. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) omg, same thing just happened to me yeterday. You had a numb nut?
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) Write something funnier I actually agree with that assessment. She's a good writer (one would hope so if it's a person's paid profession), at times, but nothing more than a glorified casual fan in terms of baseball knowledge. And that's my honest assessment after reading a decent number of her blog entries. It was obviously meant to be tongue-in-cheek, but the topic and content of that Page 2 article were pretty horrible...
  5. DePaul got a verbal from a Class of 2009 star prospect... http://www.chicagohoops.com/articles1/payne.html
  6. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Jul 13, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) "Mess with the bull, you get the horns boy" Sadly, I've been seeing many of these images on a DePaul board I frequent because our new coach looks eerily similar to him... One of my favorite 80's movies... "The next time I have to come in here, I'm crackin' skulls!"
  7. The above post and a few other have been a pleasure to read. I appreciate Hawk too.

    QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) Portillo's wins overrated...
  9. I've resisted asking for one so far...I'm tempted...
  10. QUOTE(bmags @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 12:48 AM) i can't believe nobody has said memento... that was an awesome ending... Good call...
  11. QUOTE(Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 12:11 AM) I loathe him. Being a homer is fine, but everything the Sox do is great and are never bad. If a pitcher shuts the offense down, it's not because the offense did s***, it's because the pitcher owned us. Hawk and DJ never criticize the team and always suck off their collective cocks. Joe Crede is not the best 3B in the last 45 years, Hawk. Willie Harris is not a good defensive 2B, Hawk. Timo is horrible, Hawk. Also no one cares about you playing in Boston with the Carmines, and in the same regard no one cares about DJ playing in Japan. I'll be very glad when both are out of a job. What he said, but the complete opposite...
  12. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Contreras Garcia Buehrle Garland Hernandez Yup, the Sun-Times said Duque on Monday, I believe...
  13. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Sorry, I'll edit that out for people who haven't seen it yet. A little late for you though. Again, sorry. No harm done. That particular movie never caught my interest anyways.
  14. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 11:58 AM) Well, maybe he saw the promised land--but he certainly didn't climb the mountain.
  15. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) ...ooh, it could be Danny Glover (who really had no point in this movie other than to be killed, unfortunately) Yeah, thanks...
  16. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 06:31 PM) He should start for another team if he's that great. There's a reason why he's not starting for another team though ... he's not that good. Neither is Ozuna, that's why he's not a starter. One of the key attributes you need from your subs with speed is the ability to get a sacrifice bunt down in a key situation, or at the very least put the ball in play. Willie Harris seems to lack that skill. He is a bad fit for this team, he should be playing regularly, either for a cellar dweller team or in AAA. Ozuna > willie is obviously meant to pertain to THIS team, THIS season. Why would any of us care if willie can be an All-Star on another team??? That's a silly argument, especially when you consider how well this playing and what we can possibly accomplish this year... Ozuna has shown more value on the field for the Sox this season than willie has. It really is obvious for any Sox fan, minus the willie-blowers, who has been watching the games. Therefore, Ozuna > willie.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 06:26 PM) OR how about the fact that Willie's bunt meant jack s***. I agree. willie means jack s*** on this team.
  18. QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) When are you changing your name?
  19. QUOTE(Brian @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 06:07 PM) Yeah, I hated how Ozzie walked all those guys and those errors at 3B were his fault as well. How dare he play the players he has... Their were some questionable moves, but blaming the entire sweep on him is a bit too much, in my opinion.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:59 PM) But..but..but..but...we have the best record in baseball. GMAFB, it's very obvious that this team will have some serious issues in the 2nd half if they aren't addressed. If Crede's back injury lingers, we're f***ED with our current roster. But best record = 50% chance to make the playoffs for you? :headshake Way to have faith, Sox fan...
  21. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:54 PM) OOOOKKKK. You like Willie and I don't have a problem with that but the fact is Ozuna has been better then Willie stastically and doing everything at that. Willie has been horrendous this year, period. Consider the source and realize it's a lost argument...
  22. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:50 PM) Like i said i meant willie harris and stats back that fact up. No made up secnarios like kobe is a better defender than bowen? That is as made up as it gets. Nice job willie. Uhhh...Kobe and Bowen both play... They have different heights and arm spans and play different positions, so there is no way to compare them head-to-head really, especially since they play different roles (i.e. do-everything all-star vs. defensive specialist who sucks at offense) By the way, why bring up basketball in a game thread? And yeah, willie is lookin' awesome today...
  23. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) Fact is ozuna cannot walk and cannot field very well. With consistent playing time willie's numbers would go up while ozuna's would decline. Ozuna is one of, if not the best fielding second baseman in baseball. I guess it's a love-hate relationship for you and Ozuna... Cannot field very well yet he's the best fielding 2nd-baseman? Ozuna > Willie based on how they have played rather than what you would imagine would happen if they played every day, which we all know will not be happening...I'm no fan of made-up scenarios...
  24. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) That is suppose to be a joke i take it. You're quick. It's tough to compare Frank's few games to another player's career. He's only played a few games so far this year, so I'm reserving my judgement until he gets a few more under his belt this season.
  25. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:41 PM) Or not even close. Just stating the facts...
