  1. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:38 PM) Rob Deer never singled either? 0 singles for his career, according to baseball almanac.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) Rob Deer wasn't a bad player, he just was a homer or nothing player. So far this season, that's what Thomas is. Luckily, his recent homers have been with men on base. Not like he's hit any singles today or anything...
  3. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) I never said that... But anyone who doesn't realize Timo sucks it hard and buys into that frauds luck is crazy... timo > rowand lately...
  4. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:14 PM) These guys make out timo to be the best player to ever play the game if you have not realized. I never realized Hawk and DJ were homers...
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) D.j... ''he's baaaaaaack''. Stfu. TIMO!!!
  6. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) Also, nitetrain just said that Sleepy has given him "hope" for all basketball fans on this board. That may very well be the most hilarious thing that I have ever read on here. Notice how everyone else found that funny as well...
  7. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jul 9, 2005 -> 12:26 AM) I agree, he was overpaid. Next thing you know, Paul McPherson will be offered a max deal by Atlanta without even having to be in the league for the past couple of years. Gotta luv those Chicago-DePaul guys...
  8. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 05:35 PM) He must have done something right to get his team past the "Baby Bulls" and into the second round. The guy is coming off a career year and all you people can do is rip Cleveland for signing him. He is not a superstar, but he is a solid player that does a bit of everything. He can dish it a bit, he can rebound well for a guard, he scores and he can rack up steals. He's not a great three point shooter. He will be fine as the 2nd or 3rd option in Cleveland. I do recall him dropping 33, 9 boards, 7 assists, 3 steals and just two turnovers in the big game 5 at Chicago. Or was I just dreaming? Good post. There are just a couple of certain posters who have chosen favorites and players to hate no matter what they do. Keeping an open mind is a lost concept... QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) No, it's not poor. What is poor is the fact that you spend so much time researching basketball, and you still don't know what's up in a lot of cases. Maybe you're just not looking at the right things, I dunno. It's pretty much common knowlege to any serious basketball fan that Larry Hughes is a run of the mill defender. I mean, you only have to watch a couple of games to find that out. Pretty good on-the-ball defender my ass. Like Joe Johnson, right? Stop reading scouting reports from 2 seasons ago. Although he may not be worth that money, he is a solid player who seriously emerged and had a great season. Forget about what you thought of him prior to last season and realize how well he played. I watched a couple of games, saw him extensively in the playoffs, and came to the conclusion that he is certainly a much better defender than you and your "serious basketball fans" give him credit for.
  9. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 4, 2005 -> 11:36 PM) I said one of head/augustine/ brown will be better and i truly believe it. Like i said. Come draft time i will explain why. So which one is it that you think will be better than deron?
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) Audio Clip of the Shoutout Major Props to Mike for sending this email in and props goes to Kalapse for recording this and sending me the mp3 file of it. I feel like a bigger loser than usual because hearing that audio clip put a big smile on my face... I love you guys!
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) The difference between $72 million and $94 million shouldn't be that much of a factor for Redd. Both are wayyy too much for anybody to make, easy choice, play with Bron. 20 million isn't chump change. These aren't billionaires we're talking about either...
  12. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 01:19 AM) Also benefitting from my Pods voting frenzy is Roy Oswalt who was my choice from the National Leauge. Me too, but then I started to think if I should vote for the worst NL player since This Time It Counts. Edit: And this may have been mentioned before, but if boston fans really are voting for matsui, they're f***in' idiots...
  13. I'm doin' it the normal way too, just in case... Damn, I don't know why, but it's gonna feel good if we pull this out.

  16. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 11:13 PM) I am talking strickly defense. Not who is the overall better player. I can also recall kobe shooting a couple airballs in the finals. But that is not the point. The point is that bowen is a defensive specialist. You've bought into that hype, good for you. Now go watch Kobe on defense, and then watch him still have the energy to score the way he does. I am not a Kobe fan at all, but he's a talented bastard... Now cross your fingers that Tinsley's foot will be fine because it sure as hell was a recurring problem throughout the season...
  17. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) Wade a superior defender over tinsley? Well you also think kobe is a better defender than bowen so whatever. Which tinsley injury did you enjoy the most this past season? Seriously, did you even watch him play? I clearly recall him hobbling a bit on the bad foot in the few games he played. He didn't look good. And yes, I'll take kobe on my team over someone shooting airballs in the Finals any day, so whatever...
  18. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 10:07 PM) I didn't say he should be in the majors. He does suck as a ML pitcher right now, though. I guess we're supposed to judge him by minor league standards even though he's pitching in the majors at the moment?
  19. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) Longley was a stiff. No doubt. But he was serviceable. Bogut isn't exactly a speedster, and although I'm not counting on it, he wouldn't be the first number one to be a stiff or bust. He's already being projected by some to be solid, but not an All-Star.
  20. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 4, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) the team is good but you could do better than tinsley as backup pg, hell put Wade there. Wade is a superior defensive PG, but I think he saw Tinsley have 1 decent game a few years ago, or maybe at ISU, and fell in love. This past injury-filled season was not an impressive one by any means.
  21. QUOTE(soxhawks @ Jul 3, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) here's the team http://www.mostvaluablenetwork.com/ konerko, garland, buerhle If true, good stuff...
  22. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jul 2, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) Duhon is a really good defender with a solid bball i.q. His jumper improved as the season went on. Hinrich doesn't have to chase the quick pg's around all game with Duhon in there. As somebody mentioned, his assist/turnover ratio was one of the best in the league. This guy was a secound round steal. We most definitely have to bring him back. He still needs to improve his jumper. If the price is right, I'm all for it.
