  1. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 9, 2005 -> 12:02 AM) Compare her to alot of girls she was not that special... only differance is she had the money for surgeries whenever she wanted not to mention having double d's at one time due to plastic sugery when she is naturally a b cup. Basically you can put any average chick in hollywood and people fall in love with them for whatever reason. Fame and money. Anybody can look more attractive with those two. She was hot for a while though. Who do you consider "special"?
  2. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) I read Kotek boy's column on this & noticed what he left out. 1-Since the Bulls reached the playoffs behind MJ they have been on the most profitable franchises in the NBA. That includes the losing years. 2-Phil Jackson did not just want to coach the Bulls. He wanted to build the team as well. That's the GM's job. It had nothing to do with the $ he was asking. JR would have met that price if Phil would have accepted just being the coach. 3-The White Sox are not one of the most profitable franchises in MLB. They are not even in the top 15. Mentioning them in reference to the Bulls is apples & oranges. How the White Sox operate has nothing to do with Skiles or the Bulls. If JR had the chance to sign a healthy A-Rod or Bonds to 1 yr $30M deal he could not do it. The White Sox could never afford that despite what Kotex boy chooses to believe. Lost cause, Jug. You can find a multitude of inconsistencies and outright bulls*** in every single one of his columns.
  3. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) When are we going to rename this site timotalk.com? Good lord, the obsession with Timo Perez on this site is mind boggling. We should have a one week moratorium on Timo threads, positive or negative. So true. He has literally been called the worst player in baseball on here and even though I'm not a big fan of his, I think it has gotten to be too much...
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 8, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) Don't forget... I am having sex with all of you as well. :rolly :puke Just kidding...
  5. So he made a big deal about it just so he could accept the original offer?
  6. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) I know Nintendo has a baseball game coming out next year and it it supposedly very well done.
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 12:27 AM) Everyone is suppose to hold a grudge for 15 years? You can if you like i am not. 15 years ain't much when it comes to die-hard fans and "grudges"...
  8. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 01:36 AM) I love the thread title. I say things to this effect quite often in here. Like, when someone thinks they would be a great GM. or manager...
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jun 7, 2005 -> 12:02 AM) An article posted on nbadraft.net ranking the FA centers. Dalembert ranked above Curry. He's having heart problems. Ya think that's factored in?
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:14 PM) I wanted the twins to do well in the playoffs once they made it. I recall any others did too. Just because they are in our division or are our ''rival'' doesn't mean you cannot go for them in the playoffs. I like how the pistons play basketball and most importantly i love watching great defensive basketball. I think the spurs would have finished the heat off rather easily. The pistons match up much better with the spurs therefore making it a more exciting finals than heat and spur in my opinion. Also, i would like to see the east represented once again to show once more the east is not as weak as people think it is. The east is on it's way up which is good for many reasons. Rodman shoving Pip. Bill Lambier. Deke freezing out MJ. Walking off the court.
  11. Is it true brooks plays the devil?
  12. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:47 PM) Skiles' agent went on the radio today and on Chicago Tribune Live and basically said it's much more than money and length, then when they asked what he wouldn't say which translates into we want more money. If they give him anymore money he'll be a top 5 paid coach. He certainly isn't that good. I don't see Washington paying Eddie Jordan that and they beat the Bulls. Plus Skiles almost a completely new team from the one he inherited. Skiles is asking for too much. He wants to get payed like he's Larry Brown and he's clearly not on that level. He hasn't even won a championship yet so screw him. I'm confident Pax will find someone better whether that be Phil or Flip. And people don't underestimate Phil. He had Kobe who's arguably the most selfish player ever to play the game. Yep. I agree. He's not that good. Here's a simple concept: Earn it. And I still have no idea what the "Don't you think he's cute" argument meant...
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) I don't think he's a Bulls fan. Good point.
  14. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) Pistons gonna go back to back yaya. As a Bulls fan, how could you ever go for the pisstons?
  15. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 09:41 PM) I know, I know I am late. It sounds like what Brian's friend's daughter went through. Hopefully they can get her seizures under control as the doctors have for Brian's friend's daughter. Dumb question: Is Brian your husband? I've noticed him mentioned in your posts previously.
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) Brooks doesn't like him? That's right you heard it here first Brooks Boyer does not like Aaron Rowand. Whoah! I think you're reading wayy into it... I think it means he's gonna get traded.
  17. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) I think this is the best point anyone has made for any side of the argument. SS, Milkman I think you two are great posters, you guys are both posters That I actually read posts from. I didn't mean to step on either of your toes. I guess I like the sox too much for my own good. My grandfather got me into baseball when I was four and It formed a bond that I now have with my younger siblings. (The bonds I formed were priceless to me) I hope have the same bond one day with kids and grandchildren. The white sox are priceless to me. Please don't be under the impression that I am a rich snob. I'm not. I'm 23, I was raised middle class. I have been on my own since I was 19. I am still establishing myself now but do pretty good compared to what I was doing in my late teens. I understand what $100,000 means. Once again Please accept my apologies.
  18. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) One comment on Texseox's massive posting. A lot of those terms seem to be implying oral sex and not masterbation... Actually, I'm not so sure. I think maybe you're thinking of the wrong lips...
  19. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) When I was 9 you had to be in front of the house before sun-down. We could still play in front of the house but no bike riding. By 9PM in the summer you had to be in the house. By 7PM in the winter you had to be in the house. Rules to live by. And this isn't me trying to be sexist, but the rules should be a bit more strict for girls since there are more dangers out there for them...
  20. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 05:25 PM) Mathematics is the cornerstone of all physical science. It should never be ignored. This is my first time: Jugg likes numbers?
  21. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 04:28 PM) A Sox championship can be equated to nothing more than a short thrill and maybe some memories that lose their meaning in the long run. Ok, I re-read it, and it would probably mean more than that to most of us die-hards. I was just thinking about the Bulls and how great it is to be able to brag about those great years. Although that's awesome and I enjoy it a lot, it's not so significant in the grand scheme of things. I'll spare everyone by not getting too philosphical. Anyways, good points on both sides of the argument, in my opinion. It's all a matter of personal preference.
  22. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) I also wanted to point out how much the game has changed since the 70s and 80s. Here are your Defensive Efficiency rankings in 1989-1990. 1. Detroit 100 rating, 98.3 PPG Allowed 2. Houston 100.8 rating, 105.3 PPG Allowed 3. Portland 101, 107.9 PPG Allowed 4. San Antonio 101.2, 102.8 PPG Allowed 5. Utah 102.4, 102 PPG Allowed So, while Portland was one of the best defensive teams in the league, you'd never know it by looking at their PPG Allowed. Strange times. Even Detroit allowed close to 100 PPG, and they were arguably the greatest defensive squad in the history of the NBA. Players used to know how to shoot and hit (especially open) jump shots back then.
  23. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) He was the #1 offensive option on a very intelligent, deep defensive squad. PG: Terry Porter SG: Clyde Drexler, Drazen Petrovic SF: Jerome Kersey PF: Buck Williams, Cliff Robinson C: Kevin Duckworth Drexler was the only true scorer, everyone else was crafty on the offensive end. If Sam Bowie would have developed into the rebounding/shot altering force that he should have been, they might have won it all at some point between 1988 and 1992. Think about that squad with Marcus Camby. But yeah, Drexler was one of the Top 50 players in NBA history. There's no denying his scoring prowess. However, guys like McGrady and Pierce are arguably just as good as Drexler ever was, and we all know that you just can't build around players like that and disregard the beef (Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics of recent years). I think I might take a healthy Duckworth or Buck Williams over camby on the injured list. Also, take a look at Drexler's assist numbers. This is purely my opinion from what I remember seeing of him when he played, but I would venture to guess that Drexler had much more heart on the court, and probably off, than mcgrady or pierce ever will. When you couple that with his great talent, I'll take him over mcgrady or pierce WITHOUT HESITATION, and that is why I do not see myself saying that they are just as good as Glide. He was the clear leader of those great Portland teams, and the team was essentially built around him, making it to the Finals.
  24. QUOTE(rangercal @ Jun 6, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) wtf? Im just trying to make a point. I grew up middle class. I know what it is to need money. But this is f***in America. Go out and get it. I am trying to compliment you all by saying you guys are more than capable of obtaining $100,000. Us Americans make too many f***en excuses. We want everything handed to us. I have Bills *sob* *sob* I'm in debt . What the f*** ever. People come here everyday to this country with nothing. Nothing at all , and build a fortune for themselves. If money means that much to a lot of you, then quit your blue collar jobs, quit your bad spending habits, make the most out of your time, take college courses that will actually pay off ( not have you making $30,000 grand a year) . I'm sorry, this is the truth. You all can hate me after this. I was told this a while back and it paid off. Quit making excuses and expecting things handed to you ( lottery, gambling jackpot ect) Invest reather than spend. a rich man invests his money ( so his money works for him) An average money works for a living and saves most of what he has a poor man works and never saves . spends half his check on payday and is broke a week before the next pay period. nothing wrong with being either of the 3. I'm just saying change your lifestyle if you need money that bad. Good points. But on the other side, how does the Sox winning a World Championship do anything for your life? $100,000 as disposable income = not worth much Sox championship as basically a form of entertainment = not worth much But you're discounting scenarios where things come up and you're placed in a situation where you need money and it is not that easy to aquire it. Money can be turned into food, shelter, clothing, etc. Basic needs. A Sox championship can be equated to nothing more than a short thrill and maybe some memories that lose their meaning in the long run.
