  1. QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 11:45 PM) brantley is a dickbag Well-said.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 09:49 PM) I got it right without the aid of google. Me too! And I'm definitely not googling, as you can see by my score...
  3. My baby brother of 20 months got sick and was taking the liquid drop form of Tylenol. Sounds like we're safe. Whew.
  4. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) This board has a need... And it is more Eric Chavez threads. I wanna see them combined into one gigantic chavez super-thread. 100-page minimum.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 09:41 AM) Look here..
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 09:37 AM) As usual... :dips*** Maybe I missed the "dips***" smiley?
  7. One post will suffice: Yahoo Odd News
  8. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) Agreed. He got something out of Curry and Chandler that Floyd and Cartwright didn't. If it wasn't for that awful start, the Bulls could of won 50 games. That would of been outstanding, considering previous years. floyd and cartwright were jokes.
  9. QUOTE(thomsonmi @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) Count me as one. 35-18. Ditto.
  10. One great legend speaking about another great legend: Statement From Ray Meyer: “As far as I am concerned, George Mikan was the greatest competitor I ever coached. He came the farthest of any player I’ve ever seen, being an awkward young man into the polished player that was the greatest player of the first half of the 20th century. He got better every time he played and I was a great coach when he was on the floor. I will miss him greatly.” 1999 photo
  11. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 01:32 AM) I cannot understand why people don't think he can be the coach to take the bulls all the way. Is it because he is an old school coach and he gets the respect of his players? Is it because he lets everyone know who is in charge? He is not gonn have any of his players make the bulls look bad. If they do something wrong or something he doesn't like thet can go think about it on the bench. Flip saunders. He's just not that good. He's asking for too much, too long. Him rubbing the players and/or organization the wrong way almost seems inevitable. He's a good coach, just not worth as much as he thinks he is, in my opinion. You don't pay a relatively unproven guy that much for one decent year. Just take a look at all of the former Coach of the Year's and top-notch coaches that quickly wore out their welcome. Unfortunately, I believe that Skiles will ultimately suffer the same fate.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 3, 2005 -> 12:05 AM) Id Love for the Bears to make a run at one of these guys... preferably Robinson.... Morton hasnt been that good for awhile. Not a karen fan... I could catch some of those dropped passes.
  13. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 11:15 PM) He's going to end up overstaying his welcome in a year or 2 anyway. These type of coaches do. Most likely. He's not worth what he thinks he is.
  14. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:32 PM) Wow, Chavez is really making the sell job now. Hopefully everytime he opens his mouth the Billy Beane asking price drops. Exactly. I hope it's a vince carter type of deal...
  15. QUOTE(sayitanitso @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:28 PM) Eric Chavez is talking to Dan Patrick right now. And he's saying...?
  16. QUOTE(jerseysox @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) i know i am just going to get slaughtered for posing this question, but why is everyone in love with a guy with numbers worse than paul konerko's? chavez has been putrid this season. are you all basing it on his track record? if so, why no love for paulie here when he's in the same exact boat as chavez? to me, this is a grass-is-greener situation. i'd rather have crede. now, fire away!! Our offense sucks and we could use another decent bat that can very likely heat up.
  17. QUOTE(nvxplorer @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) I don't give two s***s how Ozzie handles the media. If reporters don't like how he answers questions, they can stop asking them. If anyone else doesn't like how he answers questions, they can stop reading them. Well-said.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 12:47 AM) Great, so we have the next Bobby Knight (off the field, of course)? There's a big difference between making a joke out of it like Jim More of Herm Edwards.....or being a dick about it like Bobby Knight. Nobody ever said we have the next Bobby Knight. I highly doubt we will ever see Ozzie throwing chairs or chiking players. I was merely pointing out that there are MANY examples of managers and coaches losing it much worse than Ozzie ever has or probably will. The only one equating Ozzie with Knight is you.
  19. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 12:21 AM) How many managers do you see snap at a simple question asked by a reporter? Playoffs??? And have you heard of Bobby Knight? There are so many more...
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 2, 2005 -> 12:02 AM) The beauty about baseball is that you play almost every game. The problem about baseball is that with 162 games, there's a lot of chancing at analyzing a player/coach/etc. If Ozzie would have made proper decisions tonight (not Timo at 1b, no Walker in the 7th), then there would have been really nothing to criticize about him tonight. When everyone knows the decision is bad before something happens, that's a problem! I agree. But I just don't agree with bashing Ozzie's personality, behavior, demeanor, etc. because I think he's done a fine job in that dept. This whole thread stemmed from something he DIDN'T do, which is humbly accept a half-assed apology from some idiot broadcaster. We knew what we were getting with Ozzie, and I happen to have no problems with the way he handles himself. Now, the baseball side of it is different...
  21. Can the Ozzie-haters just post "I HATE OZZIE" and be done with it? That's basically what it's coming down to. The nit-picking is getting silly...
