  1. QUOTE(Jabroni @ May 20, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) I agreed that Miller was a great clutch shooter but am I making this stuff up? That leg kick to draw a foul is one of the things he was notorious for. Did you watch the game? He even shot a 3-pointer at the end of the game that was completely stuffed (all ball, mind you) and complained to the refs for a foul. Miller is one of the greatest pure shooters of all time but he has never played defense and he whined to the refs 24-7. It's not like I'm making this stuff up. Yeah, I'll have to agree. Great shooter, especially in the clutch, but he annoyed me overall. That push-off on Jordan and then dancing around and jumping in circles after the 3 solidified my reggie miller hatred...well, maybe not hatred, but I do dislike him...
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ May 18, 2005 -> 12:29 PM) QUOTE(Steff @ May 5, 2005 -> 08:10 AM) Soo... I'm home today because I have wedding stuff to finish up... Goto the game finalize dinner and flowers... QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 1, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) Can one nominante one's self? ...I dunno, seems kind of forced to me.

  4. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 19, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) Please don't tell me your that guillable. You don't honestly believe that the PS3 is 12 mores times powerul than the PS3, or that the XBox 360 is 35 more times powerful than the Xbox, as Microsoft said. Sony is the same company that said their PS2 would resemble Toy Story in terms of graphics. Developers have already stated the Rev is on par with the XBox 360 in terms of power. Anyway, due to all the clues Nintendo has left and the speculation the the Real Rev has not been released, I'll post this video(Released May 13th): http://media.cube.ign.com/articles/613/613578/vids_1.html Don't know what to think of it. I'm just relaying what I read on a site: By Nintendo's own admission, according to a report from USA Today, the system is two to three times as powerful as its current-generation console, the GameCube. Sony's PlayStation 3, announced yesterday, is reportedly dozens of times more powerful than its predecessor, the PlayStation 2. However, Nintendo told the newspaper, "It's not all about having 'turbo power.' It's about what you do with it." What will it have to work with? Iwata did not reveal many of the game console's specifications, but he did mention that the Revolution will have 512MB of onboard flash memory and will be expandable with two SD memory card slots. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/05/17/news_6125078.html --- Anyways, Nintendo's exclusive franchises and games are usually what draw me to it...Hopefully they don't do something crazy to f*** up the Rev...
  5. QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ May 18, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) Glad you liked the pictures. Pretty sure I will be able to make it tomorrow. I was leaving myself a small out because of a son and a wife who have been under the weather. But my guess is that when push comes to shove, I'll be able to make it. So far I've been comparing Frank's arrival here to the Pope's. Despite the fact neither of us are religious, I think she has gotten the drift. Keep up the awesome work. I sent the link to your pics from yesterday to a couple of Big Hurt-loving buddies who don't post on here, and they were happy to see them....
  6. Just something quick on prices: It now appears that Sony may opt for a compromise price-wise, according to the Mainichi Daily News. An article that ran on the Japanese newspaper's Web site said that the PlayStation 3 could potentially sell for under $500. "The new machine, which will have a higher performance capacity than personal computers and provide sophisticated movie-quality images, will be priced at less than 50,000 yen each, according to [sony] officials," said the paper. At today's exchange rate, 50,000 yen is $465.58--more than the $299 many expect the Xbox 360 to sell for, but less than the $699 to $799 PS3 price tag many had feared. If Sony follows the pattern it set with the PSP, which sells for around $190 in Japan and $249 in the US, the console will likely be slightly costlier stateside. --- Have a good time with your $500 ps3's, guys... As long as the Revolution is $300 (or less? ), I'll be all set... Edit: Now I'm reading that the ps3 is about a dozen times more powerful than ps2 while the Rev is only about 3 times as powerful as Gamecube? That worries me. Nintendo better have something up their sleeve...
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ May 18, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) What's up with the seperate threads relating to the game thread..? AJ has homered in 4 straight at home and 5 of the last 6 at home. How is that solely related to today's game?
  8. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 18, 2005 -> 03:20 PM) After todays outing Dead's condition has been upgraded to critical... Lets see how things go in the Flubbs series. No longer a flat-liner...
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ May 18, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) :running for cover..
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 18, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) Home runs are fine and dandy but how about some hits with men on? Under .200 ( with men in scoring position too) is not acceptable for anyone no matter how far or how many home runs they hit. I am just not gonna get excited over a home run when he is hitting as poorly as he is. String some damn hits together. Are they winning?
  11. QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ May 18, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) Holy s*** -- whats going on here -- Paulie 2-3; DEAD 3-3??? Something's up...I'm feelin' a little uneasy...

  13. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ May 18, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) I hope he's actually coming out of it and its not just Rigor Mortis.
  14. QUOTE(longshot7 @ May 18, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) 4-0 Sox? Yep. Uribe.
  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 18, 2005 -> 01:03 PM) As far as the attendance shot, does anyone here think that Brooks and the management aren't wringing their hands wondering why they can't get 25,000 - 30,000 for a Garland start? Agreed. I can't wait for a good Garland commercial to replace the takochsu/gagcia one...
  16. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 18, 2005 -> 10:26 AM) If we expect 9-11 ppg out of raja Bell = home for the playoffs next year. I guess your willing to give Tyson the Max? :headshake That's what he probably will ask for. Tyson sure looked great against ruffin, Thomas, and kwame Brown. lol I'm wondering how the raja bell man-love started too... He looked ok with his defense on the sixers and he's been putting up points on a weak, injury-depleted jazz team...His .61 steals numbers don't really jump out at me...
  17. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ May 17, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) That dude belongs on the Knicks. Admit it...you miss Jamal!
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ May 17, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) Good luck to DePaul as well, my parents are both alums. Sleepy, quick question is Chandler still a solid commit to DePaul or is he wavering. Chandler is coming, along with Currie and Woods. I was nervous that he wouldn't, and it was a wait-and-see approach, but in the end he met with Wainwright and decided to honor his LOI.
  19. Nice Hermy watch... Iguchi has been great. I can't say enough about him...
  20. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ May 17, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) That visit by Self was set up by Julian. Julian was not sold on Arizona, DePaul, or Illinois. So I guess you could say it was poor recruiting by all three coaches in this situation. He called up Self who he had always liked and wanted to play for and when Self came he closed the deal. Didn't say it wasn't good recruiting by Self, just not the miracle some people like to think. I actually consider it good recruiting by Traitao for getting DePaul in the mix since we're not exactly the power we used to be...Quite an understatement, I know... We really can't compare ourselves to a 'zona or even ill... Anyways, I'm excited about the BE, just not about all of the future recruits who have quickly dropped us off their lists... Good luck to the illini...
  21. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 17, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) I don't feel like arguing about it tonight but there are plenty of reasons for gordon to not be starting. He likes coming off the bench over starting at this point anyway ( he said it not me). He knows he has alot of things to work and plans on addressing them. But it would be foolish for us to think he will get that much better over one summer. 2 things: 1. If you read my post, you'll notice I said I expect him to improve enough to start sometime before, and near, the All-Star Break. 2. EVERY SINGLE PLAYER IN THE NBA WANTS TO START AND PLAY SIGNIFICANT MINTUTES. He made those statements because he was being a team player. I don't think we used that high of a draft pick for a 6th man, and I think that a goal of his, along with almost every other NBA player, especially with his potential, is to start.
  22. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ May 17, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) Julian Wright always wanted to go to Kansas and thats where he went. So I'm not sure that shows someone changing where they are leaning too. Last I checked, the great recruitier Dave Leitao couldn't even get Wright to visit DePaul before he made his decision. Scheyer always wanted to go to Duke, and Chris Collins relatioship with the Scheyer's was just as much of an advantage for Duke as Dave Weber was for Illinois. Read Scheyer's comments, he always wanted to play for Duke, this isn't a case of a guy just leaning towards a certain school, this was recruiting against Duke when the guy dreamed of playing there. The Scheyer's basically even said that the only reason Illinois was even seriously considered was their run this year. So Illinois went from having zero chance to "Scheyer being torn" so Bruce must have done something right. So you are saying if by chance, Weber brings in a class consisting of Collins, Carlwell, and Semrau he is a bad recruiter because he couldn't bring in a Scheyer? Julian Wright did not always want to go to Kansas. It took a last-minute visit by Self. Traitao had a good relationship with Wright and his family. Unfortunately, his scheduled visit was going to come after Self made his visit, but there was no need for that anyways. And there really is no comparison between Traitao and weber since he had Dorrell Wright coming to DePaul before the NBA came calling and the incoming class is ranked top 20. That's going to be a very big chance. Talk to me after weber can bring those guys in...and that's a big if...
