  1. The fact of the matter is that these are our relievers and this was a s***ty team. The guys that were put in had to get the job done, regardless of the order or situation.
  2. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ May 10, 2005 -> 09:36 PM) The Twins have a better pitching staff for the simple reason of Joe Nathan while we have Shingo, I am staring to think by the end of May we are 2-3 behind the Twinkies. You're crazy! I give them til June.
  3. The good news is the twinkies beat a real team.
  4. Any word on price? The only system I see myself buying at launch is an affordable Nintendo.
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 10, 2005 -> 02:02 AM) Lol. The opposite actually. If a fairly raw second year player can lead them to score 103 points per game, which is 7 points less than when nash is in the game what does that say for nash? Several other point guards could have made this offense flow as good as nash whether you think that is hypothetical or not it is the truth. He is the catalyst of the suns and is in the right place at the right time, therefore the mvp. I would say shaq's 20+ points on over 60% shooting ( only two players have done that in the past twenty years is more impressive) his defensive presence also means a s*** load. You make 7 points sound like nothing. That's usually the difference between a win and a loss. What's your point? By the way, I'm glad you recognize why Nash won now: "He is the catalyst of the suns and is in the right place at the right time, therefore the mvp. "
  6. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:56 AM) Ha I love how Bulls fans have no problem trashing their players, the players they defended to no end during the season, for the sake of saying their coach was the best. You're crazy. Curry-bashing has been a season-long trend for some Bulls "fans."
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) Where would you put Nate McMillian into all of this as well? 3rd/4th if I was voting.
  8. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:48 AM) You will support anything suns because of steven Hunter and Q. I pose a question for you. How would skiles do with suns ? How would D'antoni do with this year's bulls? I just think that the gm for the suns is more to credit for building that offensive beast in phoenix. Paxson did a great job bringing in the rookies for skiles, but C'mon how often do you see coaches win with a team as young as the bulls? You see coaches win with the type of talent phoenix has all the time. Q had a good year. He's surprised every DePaul fan with his 3-point shooting. Skiles is the better coach, in my opinion. He should have won it. I just like d'antoni better than some of the other names that were being mentioned. He's who I had in 2nd place.
  9. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:48 AM) I am saying when nash was out. Not now. Oh, so you were saying that Nash was the MVP that drove them to win. They weren't the same team without him. He deserved the MVP award. I agree.
  10. QUOTE(qwerty @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:44 AM) Their problem was not scoring points it was stopping the opposing teams score points. 103 points per game which would still be tied for first in the nba for points per game and win two out of seven games? No one to blame but the players playing defense. It is not like the player who replaced nash ( barborosa) is any worse of a defender than nash is. That's silly. Their "problem" gave them the best record in the league, allowed them to dominate the first round, and they continue to do so with tonight's performance. How is winning a problem?
  11. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) Tonights win was impressive. But this is a season award. Do you really think that they would have lost with any other coach. Phoenix has some great players on that squad. I just meant that tonight's game was was a sampler of how they played during the season. Would they be as good with a coach who emphasized defense a lot more? d'antoni recognized their strengths early on and ran with it. You can't fault a coach for the talent he has, only for what he does with it...
  12. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ May 10, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) The Suns are so fun to watch. They push the ball on every possession. If you don't get back on them, they'll absolutely destroy you. Everybody keeps talking about how their style of play doesn't work in the playoffs. They averaged about 113 ppg against a good defensive minded Grizzlies team in a clean sweep. Then they throw 127 on a much improved Mavs defense. I agree. They're great to watch. How many offenses have looked this good recenty?
  13. I couldn't watch tonight's game and not think d'antoni deserved it...
  14. QUOTE(rangercal @ May 10, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) amare had 40 pts and 16 rebounds tonight. I don't know who the top 5 nba players should be but, He is not far behind. No doubt. 26 and 9 boards during the season while playing out of position... And this is only his 3rd season... I wish Tyson and Eddy could have matured as players the way he has and continues to, but oh well...He did what I wish Tyson would do: Work on and really improve his jump shot. But then again, Tyson would be as good as Ben Wallace this year if he got the same minutes and is good enough to have been 1st-Team All-Defensive this year...
  15. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ May 9, 2005 -> 11:53 PM) Ashlee is way hotter then Jessica. It's not even a contest... Ashlee >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jessica As for flip and TRU, seriously you two need to just get a room. I mean the gay jokes are one thing but tone it down guys, it's getting creepy. I agreed with half of your post... No hair-do could distract any attention from that popeye chin...
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ May 9, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) And Amare is not a top 5 player in the league. You could actually make a good case for that...
  17. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ May 9, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) whom ever made this thread is an absolute moron....he happy about a loss??? to the devil rays??? dude you gotta lay off the drugs the sox lost and your happy...what a fan you are...we dont need you as a fan so f*** off ass hole Did the meth kick in? Let's settle down... We're still gonna win this series...
  18. QUOTE(gettysburg32 @ May 9, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) the most sane thing said on this board in the last hour. You got a problem with my posts, punk? j/k
  19. Side note: I was watching some highlights on the Sox website with my 20-month old brother and he likes to do the "Uh-Oh! Bye-bye!" call.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 9, 2005 -> 08:42 PM) Oh yeah we have such a lead on the twinks they will never reach us. We can lose to teams like the rays, while the twins lose to a good team. And a very winnable game at that.
  21. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 9, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) Dye, welcome to the bench. You're completely useless this game. Kill us on offense and defense. I'm sure glad the Sox scratched across a few runs last inning. :shakeshead. Can Carl really do any worse out there when Frank gets back?
  22. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 9, 2005 -> 07:51 PM) Not sure who you are referring to there sleepy. Was Fratello up there? My bad. georgie carl was getting consideration for what he's done with the nugs. I would have preferred Skiles, but d'antoni was my 2nd choice.
