QUOTE(quickman @ May 6, 2005 -> 08:24 PM) score? 54-52 Bulls

UH-OH!!! I f***in' LUV that call!
-
QUOTE(quickman @ May 6, 2005 -> 08:05 PM) I am very critical of the whole team. I never would have guessed that.
-
QUOTE(quickman @ May 6, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) then getting out of it but I understnad your frustration I have a lot of trouble complaining about our pitching. I'm not sick of being able to win every single game we've played based solely on how well the pitching has been. I'm a tiny bit more critical of our offense.

It's only 3-2, by the way...

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ May 6, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) #5? Yep.

QUOTE(qwerty @ May 6, 2005 -> 06:27 PM) Does nash belong on this list? There are easily several players more deserving than nash is. Mvp's should be an mvp on both sides of the court, no? John stockon was everything nash was this year but better year in year out and was an excellent defender, yet he was never in the top five voting for mvp. 15 years ago, amare would be the mvp candidate and nash would just be an elite point guard. Mvo is suppose to be the best player in the league. Is nash the best player in the league? Voting has changed so much nowadays it is sick. Hey, I've got an idea: Why don't you name names? Nobody was more deserving than Nash this year, and shaq is probably the only one who might have an argument, although not a very good one with below-shaq standard numbers and injuries...Look at the numbers for the Suns this year when Nash didn't play. Look at their overall offensive numbers and how much better it was in comparison to the rest of the league. Look at how many more games they won this year compared to last year, their overall record, and what place they took in the West. Look at how Nash's teammates improved because of him. Look at Nash's amazing assist numbers. Look at his FG%, 3PT%, and FT%. He had a great year. Is it 15 years ago right now? No. The current NBA is VASTLY different to what it was back then. In my opinion and in the opinion of many others, the NBA was much more talented and competitive back then... MVP is NOT supposed to go the best player. The definiton is in the name. MOST VALUABLE PLAYER. Nash was the most valuable player on his team this year. The heat were able to win and play very well without shaq, especially with Wade having a great year... Jordan should have won it almost every year in which he played if it went to the BEST player. He was undoubtedly, at least in my mind, the best player in the league AND the most valuable, as proved by those great records, even when he didn't win during the championship years...

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 6, 2005 -> 05:39 PM) I would trade Shingo and Kong for Dlee and Hawkins... i would trade them for just Dlee, Im sick of hearing all this Konerko is a our leader crap... You can be a leader all you want but when your hitting .190 your not helping your team. Derrick Lee would rejunivate our offense not to mention bring a great glove at 1st, Shingo would probably pitch really well in the NL too since most teams havent seen him. Yes it would help the cubs out, but dont forget Derrick Lee was the one who got them in the position to win in the 1st place, so w/out him there would be no hawkins talk anyway. And when lee cools down, hawkins is f***ing up team chemistry and blowing leads, and Hermy (hypothetically) possibly gets injured or goes through a bad stretch? Giving up on Paulie AND Shingo is a bad idea at this point, in my opinion...
-
s***, the poll is confusing. It says shingo for lee, which would be done in a heartbeat, in the thread title but then the poll throws in Paulie? I voted wrong...

QUOTE(qwerty @ May 6, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) Worst mvp of all time. Bill Walton? Nash deserved it.
-
Great choice. I was getting tired of hearing about shaq's fat ass... Just look at how the Suns played without him...
-
Here's a thought... Maybe our offense comes around? I mean, I know we've been relying heavily on our pitching, but maybe the offense finds itself this month...You never know...

QUOTE(Wedge @ May 6, 2005 -> 09:23 AM) I actually thought this was a pretty good article. This was a good column. Did somebody start the weekend off a little early?

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 6, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) I understand it can be repetitive. But honestly, why such dislike for a topic which can easily avoided? Of the 20 threads on this board's 'Pale Hose Talk', only four (including this) are devoted to media coverage. It's hardly a problem as some make it out to be. It's the person turing on the TV and noticing Baseball Tonight covering our club. Or the member feeling John Kruk unfailry questioned the loyalty of our fanbase. We're slighting these members with arrogant "Who Cares?" posts. I agree. Even though the board allows everyone to speak their minds, which means people can post about the media, espn, and attendance while others can complain that they're tired of seeing them (while exaggerating how many turn up), it looks bad on the part of the complainers...

NBA All-Rookie Teams announced

QUOTE(qwerty @ May 6, 2005 -> 02:06 AM) Point is seven steals off of practically anyone but iverson is really impressive. Stealing seven off of iverson is like four from a good ball handler. -
Anybody ever see a cartoon called The Bear That Wasn't? Not a series, just a single cartoon...

Official NBA Playoffs Thread

QUOTE(Spiff @ May 6, 2005 -> 01:11 AM) To all the kiddies out there, and you know who you are, this ^^^ is how you come back with a stinger of a post. Learn from this. lol How about reggie throwing up an unclutch shot 6 feet from the three point line with about 6 seconds left? Antoine (Where's he from?) did step it up. -
We should have a seperate forum for everybody who goes to an espn thread, or an attendance thread, to b**** and complain abouth there being another thread but continue to contribute to the thread by adding post after post...

They got the first team right. -
QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ May 5, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) I am guardedly optimistic. But, as my Twins friend always points out: the Sox have come out of the gate strongly the past two years--but haven't been able to finish the deal. I hope they go deep into the playoffs, but I'll take it one game at a time.... Agreed. I'd feel much more optimistic if the twins were struggling.

As long as this isn't an identity theft scam, awesome idea. I'm in.

QUOTE(Tmar28 @ May 5, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) jeez what the f*** guys? this is a f***ing message board, the whole f***ing point is to discuss the white sox and that includes what espn and the media says about them. like whats been said many times before, don't f***ing read the thread if you dont like it. no matter what you may think, you are not obligated to respond in a thread. just say no. oh and post count don't mean s*** and you know it. Your opinion only counts in relation to your post count... Good to see that there are some regulars who don't think they own the board.

QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ May 5, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) Please see Balta's post before you posted this. He's right. I mean, no s*** we all know more about the team than the BBTN crew. No s*** the members of this site go to every game that they can. Respect or no respect on ESPN, we're there for our beloved White Sox. The respect IS important to casual fans and the money is those fans' pockets has a direct impact on our maneuverability in payroll. There is a national stigma about this franchise that will never be broken without positive press. I don't know how you could act as if that stigma isn't something important for this team to lose when looking at the big picture. The threads do get tiresome but, personally, I can't deny that they are discussing an important issue. You're crazy. You're supposed to b**** at the very sight of an espn or attendance thread, act disgusted, and then contribute to it by making a few posts... Yeah, I agree with your post and whoever balta is.

QUOTE(Steff @ May 5, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) You want to shed some light on what your f***ing problem is...?? It's getting pretty f***ing stupid with every reply from you to me is touche... if you didn't f***ing get it, though everyone else did, after I explained it to you then ask and I'll be glad to explain it again. Otherwise.. stop ruining threads with your stupid ass bulls***.
