I'm impressed by his hitting, but have I missed any talk about how slow Iguchi looks?.. -

Darn, I was hoping for a Hispanic pope... What a momentous occasion! Just some general comments... I don't think you'll get kicked out of a Mass because you use a condom. It is clearly more of a social and cultural issue than religious. If you continue to engage in harmful activities that put your life in danger because it's the cultural norm, there's no need to blame the Church... And it would be nice if posters were respectful of the topic at hand, but the anonimity of the internet is always going to attract assholes to make ridiculously dumb comments...

Some friendly advice would be appreciated for the final day of fantasy basketball. I'm in the final of a friendly, no-money league that I would like to win for bragging rights. My problem is that everybody is playing on that last day. Here's how I am considering going. My reasoning is that those guys are the more sure bets to play because Okafor is hurt, Jamison MIGHT not play a back-to-back, especially if their playoff spot is set, and Ginobili also MIGHT get a day off... My biggest 'dilemna' is if I should put in Ginobili instead of Alston since he's the go-to guy without Duncan. Is Jamison a better choice than Howard since he might put up more points or is he too risky? Do I consider putting in Okafor? There's also tomorrow, so I might post what the score is after tomorrow.. Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?
SleepyWhiteSox replied to Al Lopez Ghost (old)'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 01:36 PM) If you want to run a professional, first-class operation, then your people from the top down to the bottom have to act it. Whether or not this is just some sort of inside joke, or motivational tool, or just popping off, it doesn't look good to players around baseball. What if next off-season the White Sox want to sign a free agent but he doesn't want to come here for fear of being blasted in the press for no reason at all. Keep this sort of stuff in-house. Ozzie being Ozzie may be cute for a while then it just gets silly. baker gets away with saying even dumber s*** yet he's considered a "player's coach." I would not think it would be much of a problem, especially if current players spread the word that they are happy with him. Damn, I hope they are... -
QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 11:37 AM) Turn on Trinity Broadcasting Network and you get a nice sense of what the radical fringe insane religious Christian Taliban wants to do. Sad, but I used to watch 'virtual memory,' I think it was called, on that channel before I had cable in my room...Some sort of teen game show about the Bible...Sometimes there was cute California girls my age at the time on there... Damn, that's way off topic.

Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?
SleepyWhiteSox replied to Al Lopez Ghost (old)'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 01:31 PM) Fair enough. I just think this situation will be taken for what it is: Ozzie just being Ozzie. We've always known him as a guy who shoots from the lip, and when you talk as freely and as open as Ozzie does, your bound to say stupid s*** once in a while. I've always liked Ozzie and his free speaking ways and for the most part, the players seem to as well. Was Ozzie wrong? Sure. But I just don't see it being a big deal with the team. They understand the way Ozzie ticks. -
Bulls' remaining games... wins or losses

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) Luckiest possible win ever. They beat us in every category that matters and not by a small margain. No reason to believe we will just walk over them. We walked all over them by 40. -
Ozzie vs. Frank, round one?
SleepyWhiteSox replied to Al Lopez Ghost (old)'s topic in Pale Hose Talk
Hopefully it isn't even a big deal for Frank and Ozzie. I mean, it's no secret that Ozzie basically talks without thinking half the time... -
QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 08:06 AM) So glad I only care about the wins and losses.. I would go absolutely batty if I worried about half the stupid crap complained about... This sounded funny after reading the whole Frank-Ozzie argument.

QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 12:44 AM) They have a ton of upside on the perimiter, but I just can't get behind their big men. Krstic is just way too inconsistent right now, although he has a lot of potential. Collins is run of the mill. Uncle Cliffy is a dinosaur. I see them getting obliterated in the paint. I agree about Eddie Jones. He was 1st Team All NBA defense one year, IIRC. That's a crock of s***. Yeah, and he led the league in steals, I think... I'd say that's about right for him. He can steal, but he's never been shut-down. He was overrated with the lakers, in my opinion... -
QUOTE(DetroitWhat @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) Usually the ninja icon has a hidden meaning with it... I guess that's a compliment? If it is, thanks. The webmaster, James, has worked really hard to make it look as good as possible. The 'hidden' part is that I'm complimenting an opposing team's fan site. Wasn't sure how that would be taken by the guys here.

QUOTE(DetroitWhat @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) Hey, nice to be here...I'll try to swing by whenever I can and chew the fat...anyways, thanks for the love. I respect the Sox too, seeing that they beat our butts every year. That tigertalk layout looks nice.

QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) Not to sound cruel, but it WAS her fault. She is the one that hit the wrong pedal. Yes, it was an accident, but it was still her fault. DK was right, she willprobably need years of therapy. Not to disagree, but it was the mother's fault. Why stand anywhere near the car? No use in blaming anyone. It was a tragic accident, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Hopefully she can recover.

Mariners @ White Sox Series Game Threads

Skimmed through their site. Good stuff... Interesting idea and it will be nice if it works. Nice to see the game through a different perspective, and it's fun how both fans follow the same ups and downs in a game, only in reverse. -
