  1. Look at the quote I replied to. Personally, I think they're both about equally valuable. I like how Eddy establishes an early inside presence to open up shots for everybody else. I'm not discounting boards; most of you undervalue Eddy and his scoring.
  2. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 2, 2005 -> 12:20 PM) it could affect it depending what it is wrong with his heart if anything..... i was hoping to see him against Shaq... but Shaq prob would of made him look bad anyways. I can't recall him ever embaressing him. Does Shaq even have good games against us?
  3. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 2, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) The three rebounds was an estimate since the last time I has checked the stats, five is pretty damn close to three. :headshake I don't check the stats, I only watch the games and look at the "W"s. Chandler at 6-10 PPG 10-15 RPG is more valuable to me personally than Curry's 15-20 PPG and 4-7 RPG. Good thing they factor rebounds into the score.
  4. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Apr 2, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) Damon Jones has 312 assists this year. He averages about 4.5 assists per game, and last year, when he was running the show in Milwaukee, he averaged 6 assists per game and had the second best assist-to-turnover ratio in the league. He also performed very well in the playoffs. The guy's just a clutch motherf***er. He's a 43% three point shooter with close to 450 attempts on the season. To say that he is good strictly on the strength of Shaq and Wade is foolish. Yes, we all know that they're spectacular players, but Wesley Person and Rasual Butler ain't done jack s***. Can you explain that? Shouldn't Shaq and Wade influence them to shoot 43% from three point range and dish out 4.5 assists per game by your logic? He's not much on defense, but that's fine. He's not gonna cost you a lot of money, and he's a superb three point specialist. I'd love to have him on my team as a sixth man. Those 4th quarter numbers don't tell you anything, dude? And Tyson's ranking? Take a look at that list, and tell me that Tyson ain't the most dominant when it comes to altering shots and keeping rebounds alive. Garnett is the only guy that you can compare him to in that regard. I'll take scoring from the 2, 3, and 5. In this league, it's more of a necessity to have excellent defense at the 4. Just pointing out the obvious: Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Jermaine O'Neal, Amare Stoudamire/Shawn Marion, Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Carlos Boozer, Kenyon Martin, Rasheed Wallace, Chris Webber, Zach Randolph, Chris Bosh, Antoine Walker, Dwight Howard, Emeka Okafor, etc. Who's gonna stop all of these guys? And that's why people (those in the know) are in favor of getting a strong 6'5 or taller defensive shooting guard like Raja Bell to come in when we need to go on defensive runs, like the Pistons do. You know, someone like Trenton Hassell, who we cut in favor of Linton Johnson. And I know I don't have to list all of the prolific scorers at the SG position in this league, correct? I gave him credit for hitting the open 3 rather often, did I not? And to say that only 1's and 4's have to be strong defenders while 2's, 3's, and 5's don't is ridiculous...
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 2, 2005 -> 03:44 AM) Because one name jumps out at you that you do not think belongs there it is not credible? Did you read it or just look at the list and see damon jones? I take it that is what you did. Their formula is nothing crazy at all. It's not like they pulled s*** out of their ass. All I did was point out a glaring flaw. That's all. damon jones' decent start is a product of Shaq and Wade, but he's been having some horrible months after that fast start. He isn't good for much more than 3's and an assist or rwo. Those +4 points for every win aren't exactly because of his play during "crunch-time." The Heat have the best record, and we all know it's because of Shaq and Wade. They're getting the ball when it counts. I've seen at least 4 Heat games this year and Damon Jones kinda sucks. The only good thing is that, unlike Duhon, he'll actually hit a wide-open 3 every once in a great while.
  6. ”How does one become a janitor? Andrew here is very interested in pursuing a career in the custodial arts.” ”Hey, how come Andrew gets to get up? If he gets up, we’ll all get up, it’ll be anarchy!” ”Screws fall out all the time, the world is an imperfect place.”
  7. damon jones? Talk about a reliable stat... Thanks.
  8. I'm planning on walking up and getting a cheap upper deck ticket. I get out of class from Lincoln Park at 1 and am taking the Red Line over...I should be fine as far as getting a (relatively) decent seat, right? Well, my main question is if I will be able to get into the park with my school bag. Anybody know if I'll have any problems with that?
  9. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 07:16 AM) The best trained law enforcement group on the US is the Border Patrol. I am not against qualified law enforcement agressivly patrolling the border. They save countless lives every year. They speak fluent spanish, they know the laws, have the authority to detain people. They don't want these vigilantes out there. The balance is, we cannot target the largest ethinic group in our country for harassment because some people that look like them have committed a crime. Imagine if some groups decided that since so many blacks are caught with drugs, they will drive around in pickups, displaying the confederate stars and bars, prominently display handguns, and report any suspicious activity? Do you think Clarence Thomas would appreciate the gesture of being watched on his way home? Would you report guys guys driving slowly though your neighborhood peering into backyards as suspicious? They should be reporting themselves. 80% of the border is inhabited by Mexican-Americans. 80%! and the vigilantes are going to watch and report just the illegals? There is no way to tell Mexican-AMERICANS, non-resident aliens (legal), undocumented illegals, and Mexicans on 72-hour laser visas. These groups are featured all the time on the news. If y'all could see the hoopin and hollerin, the speech they use, you will understand why VIGILANTES are not a good idea. Properly trained law enforcement is.
  10. QUOTE(Texsox @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 06:58 AM) YASNY, walk down any town USA and tell me which people are Mexican-Americans, which are resident aliens, and which are here illegally. Who are you going to report? All of them? You didn't like the wisecrack about incest in the south, how would you feel being "watched" by guys in pickups and handguns because you are from Kentucky and must be an illegal? Actually down here it is the few conservatives who are trying to hardest to make the Mexican-Americans feel welcome. Their toursist dollars, their business investments, all are important, actually critical components to our local economies. When the American Nazi Party wanted to march in Skokie, reasonable people understood why they were doing it. Free Speech does not give you the right to harass people. The right to assembly is not absolute, anytime anyplace for any reason. No LOITERING. Most of these guys are not the local PTA, neighborhood watch group.
  11. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Apr 1, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) Oh how I miss the days of Indiana State-DePaul final fours...
  12. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 11:38 PM) Hinrich was 6 for 11 and he made one of his two 3-point attempts. What's wrong with that? He missed 5 shots is what's wrong with that! WE NEED PIETRUS! Hope Eddy's alright and can get cleared to play soon...
  13. I guess I phrased it wrong. I was more curious about how long he could be out...future implications... Our best point guard is playing well after missing a few games...No rust...
  14. Anybody know anything about an irregular heartbeat?
  15. QUOTE(MiamiSpartan @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) Not an Illini fan (although I will be cheering for them vs Loiusville), but that is a real tough question. Both Michigan State and the Florida Marlins have won championships recently, and I don't know if I can tell you which one brought me more joy. I was out of my head for both of them. By the way, the Orange Bowl is a real loud stadium...went to an FSU-Miami game about 2 years ago when I was at FSU for a bit...Can't remember if it was wide right or wide left...
  16. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 11:30 AM) Rush has been compared to McGrady with a better shot and less altheticism at the same age by his high school coach--coincidentally at Mt. Zion HS, the same school T-Mac went to. I heard the Rush really likes Dee Brown game, so his decision could be swayed based on Dee's decision to go pro or not to go pro. Although 2005 class looks weak and will be moved up to solid if Rush comes, 2006 looks real good and so does 2007. 2006: Sherron Collins (Dee Brown like), Scheyer, Thaddeus Young, Mike Conley. They will hopefully get 2 of the 4. And in 2007: Simeon's Derrick Rose who is the 4th rated soph. in the country and Eric Gordon from I think Indiana is high on the list. The next few classes look promising, so hopefully all the recognition will get the Illini these big time recruits. Yeah, we've got our fingers crossed for Rose too...He's been going to a few games...
  17. QUOTE(Texsox @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) That Mexicans should enjoy the same visitation policies that Canadians have. That Mexican Americans should not be harassed by vigilantes along the border. These guys can not tell the difference between a citizen, a resident alien, and an illegal. So they harass all of them. There are way more legals here than illegals.

  19. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 10:56 PM) Never use Clark Francis rankings or opinions on players, the guy is an absolute joke. They're poorly rated on just about every reputable site too.
  20. QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 30, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) You apparently did not read anything i said in the other thread. I stopped reading after it was being said that pietrus is worth trading for, and us giving up Kirk is a good idea...
