  1. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) I'm glad you get offended so easy. Especially when you didn't even read a post 3 posts above yours that agreed with you. I already said... LOL. Just some friendly banter. I hope you're not getting upset or anything. I don't take it personally... But yeah, different positions...I don't see Ben distributing and getting assists like a PG...
  2. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) Mine was. Michael finley. While he may be several inches taller he is a bad post up player and matches gordon in every single aspect of the game. Well, according to everyone, height is a significant factor. Finley's numbers have also been declining each of the past 4 seasons, and he's not as clutch...
  3. Well good luck finding an EXACT match... I just made the BEST match I could think of off the top of my head... You do realize no 2 players are exactly alike? ANY attempt at comparing two players can quickly be argued because each player has his own strong points, deficiencies, and quirks... I honestly haven't seen anyone make a BETTER match than mine, including those who are quick to "debunk" mine...
  4. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) We just had this argument. "Chandler will be there becasue he has the best chance at getting a timely block" Yeah, not to mention getting everyone's back on D, grabbing that crucial offensive rebound, altering a bunch of shots, etc. He is clearly the MVP of this team. As I stated before, I could care less about his scoring potential. We already have that area taken care of with Gordon, Hinrich, Deng, Curry, etc. I can live with 8 to 10 points a game off of offensive rebounds, a few free throws here and there, etc. As for Chandler not getting minutes because of his questionable hands and lack of offensive presence, I'll say it again....that's a load of crap. Clearly the MVP...LOL... You must have a warped sense of what an MVP is.. If you take away Kirk (especially), Ben, or Deng, this isn't the same team. To say that scoring is taken care of because of those guys goes against your point. That ALLOWS Tyson to concentrate on defense. It would actually be nice if he did have some sort of offense. Take away Tyson and Davis and Othella get some more minutes... An MVP that comes off the bench and doesn't put up the offensive numbers his talent should allow him to...good one...
  5. QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 11:00 PM) lol not sure if that was a joke but Rip is 4 inches taller, has a bad outside shot, and isn't much of a run and jump athlete. Uhh...that was serious, although I'm sure comparing him to Jordan or Iverson would be better... Ben and Rip are in the same mold. Rip is not a bad shooter. Did you not watch the NBA Finals last year? He's clutch...He can slash too... Until he's earning consistent minutes, you guys can't possibly compare him to Jordan, Iverson, or even ray allen...
  6. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 23, 2005 -> 10:53 PM) Questionable hands? Wtf. I have been saying it for a long time now and i believe hammer agrees with me. You give him the same amount of minutes that ben wallace gets per night chandler would put up the same type of numbers if not better. He would be an all around better player. Can shoot free throws at a higher rate along with field goal percentage. Chandler probally has the smallest hands in the league for a guy his size but it doesn't seem to matter at all. I like radmanovic and i believe hammer does too. But i mean come on. He is a 6'10 power foward averaging 4.7 rebounds per game while getting 2.9 minutes per game than chandler. Sure he can shoot the three ball but what else does he do well? Blocks? No. Steals? No. Good defense? Eh. He does pass pretty well for a big man though. When you are 6-10 and your field goal percentage is what a typical point guard shoots ( .425 this year, .419 career) you have problems. Chances are if you give chandler 35 minutes per game he would be either 1st or second in the league in rebounding any given year. Would be first in offensive rebounds. Possibly the most important stat as a defensive player. Also, he would be top five in blocks per game. If he gave us 10 points at a high percentage, 12-14 rebounds, 2.25-3 blocks, 1-1.5 steals, pretty low amount of turn overs it would look like this. Chandler>>> radmanovic and i really do like radmanovic. You guys don't seem to want to understand that Chandler doesn't get the minutes because of his questionable hands (sometimes it just seems to slip through), lack of offensive presence (you have to admit he has NO offensive moves), and mental mistakes. Although he has a lot more talent, potential, and upside, the fact of the matter is that Antonio Davis and Othella are going to make the better decisions... I hope we're watching the same games. I like what Skiles is doing because he rotates in a way that gives the team the best chance to win. People wanna complain about the minutes the players get, but I think Skiles is doing a great job. Too many of our guys are one-dimensional, so Skiles plays them at the right time. Curry is gonna play early because he sets the tone down low and scores early. He won't be in the game during crunch time because he has no idea what to do. Ben won't get his minutes because he sucks on defense, but his clutch shooting puts him in during crunch time. Tyson will be there to because he has the best chance as getting a timely block...
  7. Wow. You guys sure are high on a guy with questionable hands... I'm still not sold on Tyson, and you guys are vastly underrating Radman.
  8. You guys are all off. The real similarities with a current player (and fellow UConn champ. winner) are so obvious... He's Rip Hamilton.
  9. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) They aren't going to give him the money he wants. They are going to want to get something. It all depends on how that plays out. Pax will have a better idea than any of us as far as market value. If Curry is leaving, which I don't think will happen, then let's definitely get something for him. Not any of the low-ball offers he's gotten for Curry so far though. Pax has done a good job so far, so I think he'll make the right decision...
  10. Peja for Odom would have been interesting too... Peja to the Bulls would be even sweeter.
  11. QUOTE(TheDybber @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 05:32 PM) As for the Bulls, I could see Pax trading Curry and maybe a 2006 expiring contract for a first rounder. Just a thought. No way. That would be taking a step backwards, especially considering how weak the draft is going to be... I can't wait to hear how much better hoiberg is than Q because he leads the league in 3 point %...
  12. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 05:29 PM) If any of the 62 players ahead of him in % shot 9 a game they would lead the league in 3P makes. Solid argument.
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) When you are 63rd in the league in 3P% you shouldn't shoot 9 a game. So that's why he won the 3-point contest... It's called being a streaky shooter. He gets hot, which is why he leads the league in 3PT made... He's had games where he's hit 6 and 7 of 9...and obviously others where he shoots worse... Let me know when deron is scoring 16 a game and 6 assists compared to Q's 6+ boards...
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) You're sporting an Amare dunk in your sig.
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 21, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) ROFL, except he isn't a selfish whore that jacks 9 threes a game. Q is a selfish whore? Uhh...ok... This upcoming draft is weak, which is why deron is ranked as high as he is. He's obviously a second-round-type player... Q is going to have the better NBA career...
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 20, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Can you imagine how insane that would be. There would be 50's 50's and 50's. In a dunk contest where someone like Steve Francis could get last....DAMN. Francis makes it look sweeter because of his height, and his vertical is sick...
  17. This is a tough one, but I have faith in whatever Pax decides...
  18. It also reminds me of playing "one up, one down" when I was at a high school retreat. Anybody try that?
  19. I got it the first time and used the second and third time to confirm it since I noticed a bunch of you were struggling. The third time was a 0 for me, which essentially confirmed it. Am I the only one that immediately envisioned it after reading the title? I was thinking about it, and I think it would be tougher to figure out if you were actually rolling dice. The way it's set up on the site made it easier for me because they were uniformly in a row.
  20. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 19, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) That amare and nash dunk was weak. It was creative...Nash with an off-the-head pass... And showing off the soccer skills. The passes are better than the dunks. Amare has the height and power but not the elevation. Josh Smith wasn't a surprise if you've seen his in-season dunks.
  21. I'm taking Korver in the 3 pt. contest, Josh Smith in the dunk contest, and Arenas in the PG competition...
  22. I liked Horn when it first started...Kellerman vs. Woody was fun to watch... I also liked it better without the eliminations. But then it started to become too much mariotti...He definitely gets on my nerves... I think the best way to go about it is a better rotation of participating writers. I don't want mariotti to be the ONLY voice for Chicago and midwest sports...
  23. I'll take the credit for bringing this commercial up, back in the Arby's oven mitt thread... I can't possibly imagine their being an older commercial than that one ANYWHERE...
  24. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 02:46 AM) Chandler's defense> curry's offense. No way. Curry's FG% says it all. He has GREAT touch around the basket... I understand that you really like Chandler's energy and defense, but Curry's offense is more valuable. It'll show in their next contracts. Chandler on D just isn't as good as you're making him out to be... A guy like Theo Ratliff plays about a minute more per than Chandler yet averages 2.6 blocks to Tyson's 1.8. He's just not there yet. Until he puts up Rodman-like numbers, which he's very capable of, he won't be fulfilling his potential, considering his height, wingspan, and hype...
