  1. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 14, 2005 -> 12:50 AM) Haha, no, not at all. Another thing wallace is superior at is free throw shooting right? I said SOME SORT of offensive presence...Definitely more than Tyson... What saddens me is the huge strides Amare has made because Tyson could have and should have been something similar to that... Wallace's physique also helps a lot. If Tyson obviously isn't going the next Garnett, why not add a lot more muscle mass and become the defensive center he's capable of being? Skiles isn't playing him for a reason, guys...
  2. He has NO jump shot, which he can get away with a bit... But having absolutely NO post moves whatsoever is unacceptable.. That's what has taken Ben Wallace to that next level: the ablility to have some sort of offensive presence to keep your opponent's defense honest...
  3. QUOTE(silver and black @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 11:23 PM) I feel like starting a new soxtalk baseball league for beginners. i would like to have a group full of active players, and hope to get it started...maybe we can get a keeper league. Mildly interested here... I've played fantasy football and NBA, but never baseball...
  4. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 08:17 AM) Andrew Bogut dropped down 33 points from 8-14, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks in a 64-50 over Colorado State. How long until Utah goes top 10? Has anybody seen any early draft rankings/projections? I'm curious to see what talent is out there since nobody really stands out..
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 09:19 PM) I have been comparing him to wallace for a long time now. If you play him 35 minutes a game cinsistently he would be a force in the league. Not many players have the impact he does in the paint as it is already. If he had better offensive skills and less mental mistakes, he'd get those 35 per... The same goes for Gordon and his defense...
  6. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) Yeah, the expectations put on this guy's shoulders at the start of his career proved to be more than he could handle. I, too, thought he could have an offensive game, either as good, or, nearly as good as KG. Turns out, he'll be a defensive force in the NBA...nothing more, nothing less. If he continues to improve under Skiles, I think a Ben Wallace compareson suits him very well. Giving up a former number one, 20-10 ROY to get you can make that happen... You should never trade for a guy the clips drafted...
  7. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) Not trying to start a fight, but doesn't DePaul's logo look like the Devil taking a s*** down the hoop ? Personally, I love the old-school look of that logo. All my DePaul stuff either has that logo (which is tough to find) or just says DePaul. I'm not a big fan of the newer logo... And no, there haven't been any complaints of insensitivity and discrimination with a Demon logo at a Catholic university... What's interesting about hearing about the Chief Illiniwek "controversy" is that I was at Florida State for 2 years and their Indian is just as bad, yet there never seems to be any complaints... And yeah, he's definitely pondering. I do some of my best thinking on the can...
  8. QUOTE(Pods70Rowand33 @ Feb 13, 2005 -> 01:58 AM) I'm a girl, and I would love to get married at the Cell...I love baseball that is my fantasy wedding right there. Well hello there.
  9. Proposing in a ballpark is bad enough...
  10. Is that asian wannabe gangster really you? It must have been asked before too...
  11. Go DePaul!!! f*** yeah... A blowout was a bit unexpected, but gladly accepted... Finally, a win that solidifies us as a Tournament team.
  12. Does anybody know where I can find this hat in Chicago? I'm thinking this is the best place to find someone who had recently gone to Grandstand or has possibly seen it at a Comiskey shop. http://shop.mlb.com/product/index.jsp?prod...1452702.1168173 And as for those wondering why I just don't order on-line, I prefer seeing something in person and trying it on to see the fit before buying. Thanks.
  13. A sex with minors trend in this forum?
  14. It feels strange and awkward hearing something positive about the Sox from a writer outside of Chicago, especially since most of the writers here are too busy praising the cubs anyways...
  15. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) I guess you could say that's a good thing. We always were the first ones to say something. It seemed like the thing that worked for the Twins in the past was that they didn't worry about us. If Torii wants them worry about us this year, fine by me. First one to say something loses? It's been the case before, so I hope the trend continues and the Sox come out on top this time...
  16. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Feb 11, 2005 -> 12:14 AM) I saw it myself here, in 3 different thread prior to this one. Saw it on WSI, and whitesox.com had it as well. Just seems like it's been out there for the world to see... You could have read the title of the thread, along with the description, and just not clicked on it if it's old to you... I'm a first-time viewer. Quite clever.
  17. sportsline.com MLB message board
  18. Wow. I can't even think of anything horrible enough for proper punishment... Reading that made me very sad and extremely pissed at the same time. I hope they receive as cruel and inhumane punishment as possible...
  19. Well, that obviously wasn't going to happen... I was actually more surprised that the Kings didn't get ANYBODY. I thought Brad Miller (We traded him so we could get jalen rose???) would definitely make it, and Webber is putting up great numbers (even better than that other guy coming back from injuries...Grant Hill). I would have put Brad Miller in at the reserve center spot, moved Amare over to a F spot where he belongs, and taken out Ginobili. He's having a solid year, but his numbers are verry unimpressive. He contributes in all categories and is a solid player, but he's just not a star yet...
  20. This should help DePaul in the RPI.
  21. QUOTE(valponick @ Feb 8, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) Don't know if this has been posted or not, basically it is Gammons talking about how the Tigers had to sign Maggs and how the Twins and Indians are the frontrunners this year http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/gammons/story?id=1987105 We seem to have the least holes in the division, in my opinion, yet the Indians and Tigers will supposedly do better than us?? What gives?
  22. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) i like the angle where you can see jordan obviously push off russell, it amuses me as a bulls fan how blatant it was too His arm barely grazed him... I've never seen the phantom push wants to say they've seen.
  23. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) I think MJ played for 2 years after that. Jordan retired after '98. I still don't know who that other guy on the Wizards was. He doesn't count.
  24. Victory Auto Wreckers is the greatest commercial ever... Talk about timeless.
  25. I went 3 years ago at the tender age of 18 with a few college buddies. Every day of that week we smuggled lunch meat and mayo packets out of the cafeteria, and the guy who drove worked at a bakery so he got a bunch of bread... All we payed for was gas, lots of alcohol, and a cheap (but nice) motel that we split by 5. I can't imagine enjoying Mardi Gras any other way... (Well, I can. Lots of money would have gotten us into all sorts of places...But we still had an amazing time.)
