QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ May 4, 2015 -> 08:51 PM) Pau has an almost automatic mid range shot. If he can just move his feet of stone a bit more and not give up so many rebounds that'll be huge -

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 31, 2015 -> 05:41 AM) I feel since the DePaul hire is done, I can tell this story. I was in Peoria last weekend and talked to my buddy who does college recruiting and is in the know. Said Bobby Hurley wanted the DePaul job. His people were calling my friend and other folks, getting info on the city and the job. Hurley has recruited a few kids from Chicago. Not sure what went wrong but that would've been a hire that would of energized the base, but nope. Not sure how that AD still has a job. Our soxtalk source confirmed that there is no mid-major coach that would touch the program though -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 11:13 AM) Very possibly, yes. When you have mid-major coaches who don't want to touch your program, that is very telling to what the perception of the job is. You mean the ones that interviewed or showed interest in interviewing? Yup. Don't want to touch the program. Makes perfect sense. But thanks for doing the legwork in polling all potential coaching hires. There was more than enough interest to be able to hire a good coach. It was just another atrocious job by the AD. -

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 30, 2015 -> 09:56 AM) Two of those coaches you speak of did turn the job down though. It's not like they didn't offer Hurley and Drew. Do you honestly think that there was nothing in between them and leitao? You really think that was the very best they could do? C'mon now. There was a chance to at least bring a little buzz to the program and ponsetto continues her streak of making the worst possible decisions she can. Anyways, doesn't matter. Being a DePaul fan has been like being in an abusive relationship. No use in even trying to be optimistic that it'll ever get any better after all this s*** so I'm done for the foreseeable future. -

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 29, 2015 -> 02:23 PM) The facilities are terrible. The arena isn't on campus. There are many issues. What other D1 school kicks the basketball team out at a certain time so that the Girls Volleyball team can practice. They should have fired Lenti-Ponsetto and gone from there. Oh well. They're building a brand new arena in the middle of the third largest city in the country with plenty of talent (enough to get a decent high-major recruit every now and then), have shown they'll pay an obscene amount to an atrocious coach, and actually had some young, hungry, bigger-name up-and-coming head coaches that, who the f*** even knows why, were actually showing interest and interviewing and could breathe some life to a once-proud program...and ponsetto pulls this s***?! An old f***ing retread that absolutely NOBODY wants nor was even looking to hire?! f*** ponsetto. f*** this s***. I'm done. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 17, 2015 -> 03:20 PM) Howland really makes little sense. He will be 58 years old. They need a young guy with a ton of energy. Haugh had an article today. The guy I like is the guy who learned under Petino, presses the entire game, and lost a job last year because he didn't have a degree. Steve Masiello. I think he now has a degree. I think he is 37. Playing that style, young enough to relate to the HS guys, I think DePaul might have a chance. Hurley and Drew could be good as well. I know it's age discrimination, but I think DePaul has to think young. I'm fine with Masiello. It'll be interesting to see if Depaul will be given that "scandal." Some fans have said they wouldn't want him because of it. -

I'd love Howland, Bobby Hurley, or Bryce Drew. We'll see who's interested, though. I'd only want Aguirre as an assistant, and I guess Corbin deserves consideration based on his NBA coaching. It'd be nice to get a young, hungry guy instead of another terrible retread. The real change that has been needed to be made has been letting ponsetto go and hiring a real AD. Not gonna happen, though. I have this strange feeling that they'll actually hit on this coach this time. I mean, they have to after 2 straight atrocious hires, right?? Right?! :/ -
Checked out the new under armour store downtown. It's 2 stories. I was looking for a compression top. Asked a sales guy. He said they don't carry any

QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 5, 2015 -> 09:51 PM) I think it's second, or 1B, to beating GS at home. Just an awesome fourth quarter. So many guys needed to step up and E'twaun, Mirotic and MDJ all rose to the occasion tonight. Let's get healthy! This one is third after the gs win and rockets win -

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 19, 2015 -> 05:40 AM) Blackshear at Curie to me looked disinterested and was alway pouting when I saw him. Don't blame him since his coach was a clown. He was good at MP but him and Irvin there always ran their mouths and couldn't back it up. They may have won a city tournament, can't remember, but don't think they got out of a regional in the state tournament. He always seemed like a huge question mark to me despite being an explosive high school player just because of attitude. coach oliver used him strictly in the post. Not surprising that he left or where he went. My point was that with all the hype those guys got even going into high school, then their first couple of years, they sure fizzled out. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 18, 2015 -> 08:36 PM) Louisville's point guard was suspended tonight. Good thing Wayne Blackshear stepped up with his 19 minutes of 0 points, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, and 5 fouls. Epic. Still remember going to see him at Curie before he transferred to Morgan Park and him looking like an NBA-bound beast. Blackshear, Abrams, Shaw, Randle, Henry, Thompson, Marshall, Henley...soo much hype for years for the Chicagoland Class of 2011 and soo much bust. Davis doesn't count since he came out of nowhere. Boatwright has done just fine. And Kaminsky has developed nicely (awesome game at uic pavilion when benet beat Parker and simeon). But yeah, gotta love Chicago high school hoops. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Feb 15, 2015 -> 08:47 PM) And in today's world, he'd still be labeled a soft, underachieving choker. LeBron gets s*** for not taking the 2010 Cavs, a team with Mo Williams as his second option, to a title. He gets s*** for the 2 Finals losses with Miami, and rightfully so. -

QUOTE (bmags @ Feb 15, 2015 -> 08:36 PM) Honestly Howard takes a huge hit from the fact that he had 2 maybe 3 dominant years. He's a shell of himself, still quite good because of his position. The Admiral had actual skill to go along with athleticism -

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Feb 15, 2015 -> 08:35 PM) I remembered back in 2009-10 I said Rose could learn a thing or two from Westbrook and I was toast by pretty much everyone on this board.
