  1. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Dec 10, 2011 -> 09:45 PM) Please stop. I cant do this to myself again. Fool me once...
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 09:47 AM) That's a lot of really old games. Hence the price... Never played 'em so they're new to me
  3. Bunch of spoiled brats... Anyways, I shouldn't be spending so much since I went back to (grad) school, but I'm addicted to slickdeals, and my lil 8-year-old brother wanted an XBox and FIFA 12 this year since he loves soccer, so I went all out and, since he really is a great kid, got him the XBox since the sales for it were good this season. Then, I went overboard with the games...my thinking is that my other brother and me will get to play it too, and they were all on sale. So I got: Gears of War Triple Pack for $8 from Best Buy Bioshock 2 Special Edition (big-*$# box, by the way) for $10 from Best Buy Halo Reach Limited Edition for $15 at Best Buy Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY for $15 from newegg Modern Warfare 2 for $20 from amazon NBA2K11 for $20 from amazon FIFA12 for $20 at Kmart wireless controller for $30 from amazon and 2 3-month live cards for $8 each from Best Buy 7 games for $108 wooooo I can't wait to see him open them, along with his Nerf Vortex Nitron or somethin' like that. That'll be my Xmas joy...along with playing the "mature" games lol As for me, I'm a grown-ass man. I can't really recall getting a single significant gift in the past 10 years at least, other than t-shirts and sweaters and gift cards and money. My family for the most part only gives big gifts to the kids. Some years I'll just splurge and buy myself something I wouldn't normally buy.
  4. How the Bulls not offering everything possible, with the exception of DROSE, to acquire dwight isn't being even mentioned is completely beyond me... I can only fantasize about a team built around DROSE and dwight. Nothing else could compete with miami in terms of talent. All of the talk should be this, NOT the knicks trying to acquire cp3 or howard to teams like the nets, clippers, or lakers(!). But alas, we get news about Bulls management showing interest in arron afflalo and mike miller and nick young and moving c.j. watson to shooting guard and even scalabrine (yuck)... I guess all we can do is pray every night that the Bulls were able to "luck" into drafting Rose because Bulls management does not seem capable of ever making a top-tier acquisition to help DROSE in building a true championship-caliber team rather than merely a contender, given the current NBA landscape... Where's the hype to actually make it happen?!
  5. Did they open that new Sox merchandise store across from the park by the bacardi bar yet?
  6. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 12:20 AM) Power punches: Pacquiao 117 of 274 (43 percent) Marquez 100 of 254 (39 percent). Pacquiao landed 176 of 578 punches - 30 percent. Marquez landed 138 of 436 - 32 percent. Cool, cuz compu-box numbers = how to judge a boxing victory JMM outboxed the hell outta him. I really thought he had NO chance, given his advanced age and inferior physical attributes, but his skill and technique truly neutralized manny's speed and power. manny proved that if he cannot show dominance by overpowering and outspeeding, he still does not have the pure boxing to outbox a truly elite boxer still boxing at a high level. JMM's counters were a thing of beauty, and he had the most meaningful power punches of the night, splitting open manny's lip and gashing his brow. Sound gameplan and great skill really rattled manny, leaving him lunging back to try to make something happen after getting hit with combinations. In the end though, nothing short of a knock down or 2 was gonna allow JMM to get that victory, obviously. Wayy too much money at stake for manny to lose. Mayweather is gonna beat him soundly, and the fight will happen for the one obvious reason...$$$$$$$$$$
  7. Also, who pays attention to what nazr freakin' mohammed says?!
  8. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Nov 13, 2011 -> 02:04 AM) I guarantee over 1/8th of the players could get an advanced degree if they wanted to. It's really not all that difficult. Basketball pays way better than a masters degree though. C'mon now, less than 5% of this country has a masters degree, and 7/8 of players are borderline retarded. It ain't difficult for many, probably including yourself, but that doesn't make it easy for the average NBA player...
  9. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 12, 2011 -> 11:55 PM) Complete toss up there, Manny survives... JMM outboxed him, plain and simple.
  10. QUOTE (kev211 @ Oct 26, 2011 -> 12:31 AM) http://www.ihigh.com/hawaiistream/broadcas...l?silverlight=1 Rose playing in hawaii right now. Thanks, I really needed that
  11. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Oct 23, 2011 -> 10:42 PM) Basketball players play basketball in the off season. I don't think an exhibition has much more risk. Seriously. And judging from the youtube videos and highlights, it's less competitive than most pick-up games. It's not like they're hibernating all summer. As long as he doesn't get on a motorcycle...
  12. Just a heads up. As always, this is the best time to buy Sox gear. I'm poor and cheap (and a slickdealer), so I found some cheap stuff. This black replica jersey, usually around 80, is 24 on amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001QAO5U...s00_i00_details Unfortunately, amazon prices fluctuate, including by size, but I still see it in M and XXL for that price. I got this Majestic Athletic jacket for 37.50, usually 125: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003YC2K2...s02_i00_details It went up about 50 cents but I still see it at that price in M. And this New era black on black 59/50 I got for 10.50: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003JZ56R...s00_i00_details Unfortunately, it went up in most sizes, but if you got a big head, I still see it at that price in size 8. Also, foot locker/champs oftentimes has 5 dollar t-shirts after the season. I got a black Majestic Athletic Sox t-shirt for 5 at a champs. finish line sometimes does the same.
  13. Do they still do that tent/yard/garage sale thing anymore or no?
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 12:41 PM) This. It's kahn, though.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 24, 2011 -> 07:06 PM) Hey, if I get banned for being too hyperbolic, then yes, this is not the place for me. But I'm not getting into that. I see where you're coming from. But your initial post was to be construed as, "Hey, I'm the boss. If you don't like it, get the f*** out of here." That's how I and many others took it. And I know for a fact many that of the current posters here have been banned from WSI for this same reasoning. That's why it's come up. Now I'm going to try to express my contempt for a player such as Juan Pierre without crossing this new threshold. If I cross the line, then so be it. Just don't be an obnoxious, annoying douche when stating your opinions. It REALLY is that simple.
  16. Kukoc could shoot And PIP can say just about whatever he wants
  17. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 04:25 PM) Your basic argument seems to be that because he's on track to be "only" one of the 10-20 players of all time instead of #1 makes him a massive underachiever. That is patently ridiculous and I shall not be commenting on this line of discussion anymore. Clearly it's the fact that he is constantly brought up as having the potential to be or in line to be #1 all-time when his actual performance, although impressive, has just not been at that level is what bothers people when it comes to "arguing his greatness."
  18. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:48 PM) Unless the Space Jam aliens return Derrick Rose's testicles, we're done. I mean really though, what more are you realistically expecting him to do given the personnel on both sides of the ball?? When it comes down to crunch time, it's glaringly obvious that it's 3 against 1, particularly in terms of the level of talent it takes to consistently put the ball in the basket. Unfortunately, that is what it literally became at the end of regulation because you just could not trust anyone else on the Bulls at that point to hit a big shot. He's trying to do EVERYTHING because he HAS to. He's not succeeding because there's MORE ELITE TALENT on the other side. It's really that easy. QUOTE (bulokis @ May 25, 2011 -> 12:27 AM) Thibs got out coached. D. Rose seems to be doubting himself. He does not have that nobody can stop me attitude since game 1. SMH NO, NO, and NO.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 23, 2011 -> 04:24 PM) I hate the Bulls more when they win. We know. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 24, 2011 -> 12:49 PM) If the Bulls had made some of the tough shots Miami has made for the last 2 games, this would be a totally different series. Can we all agree on that? Hmm, it's almost as if the more highly-talented players are much more likely to make the more difficult shots...
  20. QUOTE (knightni @ May 16, 2011 -> 07:00 PM) It was crazy watching Asik guard Lebron sometimes. His footwork brought a tear to my eye. I wanna see the replays just to see his footwork. Absolutely amazing for a big man. You just know they're working hard on team D when Kyle freakin' Korver is workin' his ass off on wade and doin' a good job of it. I just love how much of a team this group of guys is. EVERYONE is buying in...a true testament to not only how good of a group of guys it is but moreso how great of a coaching job Thibs is doing and a humble Rose is doing as a leader. Gotta love that. Virtually impossible to dislike them. Also, this was even more huge because of the mental fragility of the heat. I could practically hear wade's ego being crushed on that Taj facial he received. It would be difficult for the Bulls to lose the series if they win on Wednesday just based on the mental fragility of lebron, wade, spoelstra, and the rest of the heat and their ability to give up in the face of adversity. And boozer's cheerleading is All-NBA 1st team-worthy.
  21. f*** it, my head says heat in 6 but my heart says the Bulls take this series on pure heart and desire...couple of verry tight games, each teach with a semi-blowout win, and an OT for good measure with Pooh fighting and absolutely carrying the team throughout. I'm sorry but you are not a Bulls fan if you fully expect the heat to win this series.
