  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 09:41 PM) Ozzie didn't want him on the roster to begin with and he's made that VERY apparent. Probably a little bit of truth in that, but let's not overlook that Erstad has been playing very well so far and Podsednik has been pretty serviceable enough.
  2. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 07:43 PM) Cubans and Dominicans were the result of the Spanish African slave trade in the 15,16,17 and 1800s. http://www.antislavery.org/breakingthesile...tes_haiti.shtml If it weren't for Jackie Robinson, hispanics of African ancestry wouldn't be in MLB either. My bad, I was kinda just joking. Interesting read though.
  3. QUOTE(knightni @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 07:14 PM) Contreras, Ozuna and Uribe are of African ancestry. Link?
  4. QUOTE(SnB @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 05:53 PM) the confusion comes from why anyone in the world would want to watch those 2 movies. They were free. A friend just handed me about 8 bootlegs they saw already. If I don't like them, I can turn it off.
  5. QUOTE(SnB @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 03:52 PM) norbit and wild hogs are movies. Bootlegs are pirated copies.
  6. Saw a 300 bootleg. Kinda a bad movie, but the visuals of the fight sequences looked impressive, particularly the elephants and monsters. Got a norbit and wild hogs bootleg for later...
  7. QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 02:03 PM) Flash would be so proud. Only if he gets tommy john surgery because he's been asking where our liriano is.
  8. I've usually heard it considered as horror, but I've always thought of it more as, I guess how you put it, "scary action/suspense." That one and Alien/Aliens. Considered horror but not what I typically think of as horror movies. I know we got a horror movie expert on here so I'm curious to see what he says.
  9. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 12:53 PM) We're talking about the organization at present, no? I was thinking 3 or 4 year time frame - typical development cycle for high end prospects. We won a championship during that timeframe, so whatever our scouts did must've worked...
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 10:32 PM) Someone want to update me on what is going on with Beas Hamgas and Iowa recruiting in general (I think tomorrow is the first day where our coaches can actually follow up and make calls into our recruits). I'm also curious to see if we can get any of Butler's 4 star commits (like Howard) to come to Iowa. http://story.scout.com/a.z?s=75&p=2&c=630304

  15. At this rate this board is gonna be unbearable by May...
  16. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 05:17 PM) I question him handing Pods a job Although it's the off-season move I probably dislike the most and was 90% sure throughout the 2nd half of last year that he wouldn't be brought back, all of us knew he would be the starting LF and leading off when he was re-signed.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 4, 2007 -> 02:49 PM) Or he was never really that good in the first place, had a real lucky (fluke) year, and has been (more or less) living off of it for his career... Nah, he actually was pretty quick a few injuries and operations ago...
  18. Chocolate Lucky Charms is some good cereal...
