  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 21, 2017 -> 07:48 PM) No, sorry, it's more like 20% of women. But 40-50% of them didn't even care enough to get up and vote. I'm not sure it's entirely relevant. Women would look for equal rights under any president. It's sad that it's still an issue.
  2. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Jan 21, 2017 -> 11:33 AM) I wasn't around when Obama was first elected but was there this much talk about it like Trump? No.
  3. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 09:26 PM) Is it similar to CrossFit? Not really at all. Its much more cardio focused with rowers, treadmills and weights and instead of pushing you to the point of injury they use a HR monitor to keep you in the correct zones. Half of the class is usually run or run/row while the other is floor work with weights and TRX.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 21, 2017 -> 10:00 AM) Sarcasm? Is reality now fake news?
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 05:16 PM) Guess it's hard for him to keep saying his terrible approval ratings are fabricated. No one bothered to show up to his lame party because his fanbase is tiny like his hands. But they ARE located strategically.
  6. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 03:19 PM) But it perversely incentivizes leverage, and it's biggest winners are upper middle class, who can already afford a home. If you want to incentivize first time home ownership there are better ways. But, whatever, not the biggest deal in housing policy world anyway. It's largely popular, if people want it, whatever. The biggest deal is keeping interest rates low. That makes it the easiest. Well if you ignore all of the loan fraud of the early 2000's. Not having any money and getting a mortgage made it real easy to buy a home.
  7. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 02:51 PM) Lol, ah yes, I forgot the last 8 years was all tax cut/break policy. Huh?
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 03:37 PM) Not to mention stupid. All you do is give the other side of things an easy excuse to not listen to you. I won't achieve anything. The rioters are anti government. So they aren't anyone's "side"
  9. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 01:56 PM) I think we'll find out who the Democratic forerunner is in two years at the midterms. Some of the Democrats are going to build themselves on fighting Trump. If he does things like remove ACA and medicare among other ideas the midterms are going to be a battle. I'm guessing a lot of his party doesnt want to do anything too fast or they risk losing quite a bit in two years. On the flip side, the Dems are hoping all hell breaks loose and they can make their careers then.
  10. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 01:54 PM) $400 hardly seems like a make or break amount of money on the purchase of a home. Not saying it isn't s***ty, but lets put it into perspective when we make claims like it's going to screw poor people and stop them from buying homes. Increased taxes here, less breaks there, increased rates here. It's not going to get better for the middle and working class.
  11. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 01:54 PM) I like how people are suddenly pretending Hillary was a weak candidate now with their 20/20 hindsight. I recall this was a slam dunk blowout landslide for Hillary as little as hours before the results came in... That was more because Trump was thought of as weak. Hillary was extremely polarizing to the point she had competition from a socialist from the Northeast.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 01:49 PM) Not so sure the Dems have one. Bernie and Joe will be too old. Corey Booker? It will be interesting who emerges, because if trump does what it seems like he's going to do, there are votes for the taking. It's too bad Michelle wouldnt run.
  13. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 01:29 PM) To be fair, he blocked a small reduction that was supposed to go into place on the 25th. It's not like he raised taxes. And it's a pretty minimal reduction. I think the average benefit was like ~400 for the year. It doesnt make my statement any less true, and its only the beginning.
  14. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 01:14 PM) Just as I've done with every President before, I'll do it again. I wish him the best, and I hope for the best, for all of us. Well, he immediately made it more expensive for people to purchase homes. So already hurting the middle class.
  15. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 01:10 PM) Annnnnnnnddd the riots begin. Morons all dressed in black (cowards) picking up rocks/cement chunks and throwing them at cops. Thats the Black Bloc, they protest any type of government
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 01:13 PM) Oak Park in the 80s had something like the most cops per capita in the country. I think it's less extreme now. They act like the damn border patrol at times on the east side, which is kind of sad. We also had a ton of CPD milling around as well.
  17. We pay for a clean safe village with awesome schools, and I get that. But it is funny the difference in taxes between here and my place in the West Loop. It was shocking. I had a similar story. My car was actually hit when I was downtown and it was parked near the green line in the lot off harlem. There was a note from the cops, and a report filed while I was downtown and they followed up the same day. Also you know not to drive drunk or make wrong turns around here. They will f***ing get you.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 12:44 PM) The most basic of web project managers has permanent redirects in place for key pages that matter. Those that do not SHOULD redirect to a common splash, which seems to happen sometimes when I click the link. Either the website transition was poorly managed and not reviewed or the page does not exist because it does not matter. The answer could be both, I guess. I know all the cybers
  19. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 12:41 PM) Yeah it seems to be unclear what is going on. I can get to the page you linked but when I went to this link: Our Work Advancing LGBT Workplace Rights (PDF) https://www.dol.gov/asp/policy-development/lgbt-report.pdf It doesnt work. But I completely agree that people need to stop just parroting what the news says and do their own research. That site is fake news anyway
  20. Anyone know what the pile of executive orders are that the President is signing?
  21. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 12:32 PM) That would be funny if the web pages being down is fake news and you guys bought it. edit: this link works: https://www.dol.gov/asp/policy-development/lgbt-workers.htm Unlike the morons who shout fake news at anything they disagree with, it took 2 seconds to check the site I was referencing
  22. Climate change officially does not exist in the White House
  23. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 20, 2017 -> 12:27 PM) Its really telling the fact that these web pages were shut down as within the minutes of him taking office. Most of America is frightened by this and I don't know how long it will last until people push the other end of the spectrum "movement" to have him impeached. There are too many Americans that realize that there is too much at stake to just let this guy ruin what so many fought so hard and long for. How the hell he won the election?...I have no idea really but I know for damn sure we arent going to just sit idly by and let him and his followers ruin what the majority of the people in this country cherish. Its only going to take a year or so before a lot of his base realizes that his government isnt going to magically help them. The mid terms will be very interesting.
  24. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 19, 2017 -> 03:21 PM) I actually enjoyed this rambling. Whats messed up though is that Granat wasnt really capable of anything personally considering the fact he had to get his friends to do the killing. What a p****, I hope he rots in jail forever. Wow, says a lot that only one kid really made it out alive of that group.
