2016-2017 NCAA football thread

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 08:56 AM) So that game screwed over OSU but had zero effect on Michigan's playoff chances? If they beat OSU, they still make the title game, win that and they make the playoff for sure. Same thing with Clemson too, if they win out and win the ACC, they are in too. Although if OSU smokes Michigan and chaos ensues elsewhere, I wonder if they can sneak in the top 4 without a conference title. If osu wins out the likelihood of making the playoff is very high with the quality wins and the good loss. Chaos for sure. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 06:55 AM) Piss off Michigan and Ohio State in one game.....priceless. While making PSU extremely happy. How's that price now? -

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 13, 2016 -> 07:19 AM) Loved the phantom facemask that was called over the obvious hold on that punt. But whatever. Speight was trash. Missed two open TDs. I saw the replay. Something turned his head. Iowa isn't a very good team. It shouldn't have been close. Night games away are extremely tough. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 12, 2016 -> 11:05 PM) Now Michigan and Ohio State will really get interesting...battle for survival to get to the title game. Michigan shouldn't take Indiana for granted, either. 3 of the top 4 teams all losing within hours of each other. Alabama the one constant. Would be cool to see Louisville sneak into the Final 4 for their Heisman winner. Harbaugh broke his leg at Iowa, lost in 1985 in a match-up of #1-2 when he was QB on a last second field goal (Rob Houghtlin) and then a very similar score and fg at the end of this one. Michigan hadn't played a real road game all season and it got em. that loss most likely took Ohio state out of the conference title game should they win out. You had one job Harbaugh. Dick -
Went to the dealership to buy an X5, walked out with another Jeep.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 11:52 PM) I'm genuinely impressed again Tom. You were before? -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 02:43 PM) Oh wow. How terrible for the guy. Thats awful. Certainly explains his health issues the last several years. I'm hoping that he can fight it and be relatively pain free, but its a pretty awful disease.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) They'll probably have blow out prices now. Now I can get that AR-15 I always wanted! Gotta protect the house you know. Went to Cabellas yesterday and it was pretty dead, they also had a pretty impressive collection of pre-owned.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 11:00 AM) good use of the Walsh talking points memo when he attempted to walk that one back, though... what boogeymen will the nra use with Obama and Clinton gone now? Nancy Pelosi and Charles Schumer want to take your guns away? they can't exactly hang that issue on Bernie Sanders, either Business is way down for them now that a gun friendly administration is on its way in. Their sales are much better when there is fear.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 08:55 AM) It is just as frustrating to have spent a month on the "accepting the election" question, and then see articles about things like changing electoral votes even being a thing. People. All people, need to take a step back. Trump literally questioned the same process, the same election results and called for protest when Obama was elected. Its not entirely crazy that the same would happen to him.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 09:09 AM) Trump picks anti-LGBT hate group to run domestic policy transition “I think homosexuality is a lifestyle, it’s a choice, and that lifestyle can be changed,” Blackwell said Trump off to a good start with LGBT community. Many people choose to be persecuted and have less freedom and rights than everyone else..... f***ing idiots. This is a problem

Thats amazing. Can you get a golf net back there? Late night driving range

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 07:11 AM) I'm actually surprised he had that many political tweets 4 years ago. I guess maybe this was more pre-meditated than I originally thought. I assumed it was just a sudden ego trip. He literally said the electoral college is bulls*** and the popular vote should matter

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 11, 2016 -> 07:14 AM) We all saw that image yesterday on social media. And, of course, completely agree with it. Glad you shared it here, too. Dammit, a guy told me that on my flight yesterday and I thought it was original.
-
Wishing for him to fail is like hoping the plane crashes because you don't like the pilot. We all want to move forward and get to where we are going safely.

Trump tweet after Obama was elected. Pure gold.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 04:52 PM) Indeed it's quite a constraint on small businesses. They'll lead you to think it'll help the lower class but all the corporations (at least in the service industry) cut people's hours to make sure they don't get Obamacare. It certainly could have in theory, but the modifications and the push back of insurance companies is making it not so. Pretty much every good idea was bastardized in some way the last 8 years. Obamacare put some infrastructure in place to have a better healthcare system, but someone needs to fix the errors with not only the policy but with the insurance companies themselves.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 04:31 PM) That was posted in September. I don't know when the video itself is from. Gas station on fire? Damn, they already knew the election results?

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 04:18 PM) I hate verbal commitments. Ties schools hands sometimes. Thats why I dont get upset when kids get recruited over. If you continue to look, we will too. -
QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 02:44 PM) There have been robberies in the middle of the day that are recorded with the attackers yelling "he voted for Trump?" Guess Im out of touch. Nope. Its usually something else. Its an excuse to rob that guy.
-
QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) How can you say it wasnt because of Trump when theyre yelling he voted for Trump during the entire thing? Seeing a lot of you guys up in arms about alleged mean tweets or signs and then having nothing to say about stuff like this is another reason Trump won. Because those same robberies have been going on just like this every week of the year.
-
Pretty sure thats not the real reason he was robbed, but glad those idiots are dumb enough to tape themselves.
-
QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 10:40 AM) Because our founding fathers actually wanted to prevent "uninformed" people from voting. Making people who dont care or dont know anything isnt the answer, it will just lead to more stupid s***. There is a fundamental fight in our country right now, urban v. rural, its nothing new. The problem is that both sides get hijacked by special interests and nothing gets accomplished. Truthfully, they wanted the people to be represented in some way for all issues, but they also didnt see technology being able to connect and collect people for this purpose. I personally think many of the things they put in place are pretty antiquated .
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 12:08 PM) Because of 2 idiots? There's going to be idiots like this everywhere unfortunately. No, I meant if that was my kid. Should have been more specific
-
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Nov 10, 2016 -> 01:06 PM) I get people's right to protest but Trump won. What's the point of the protest, it's not going to change a lick... Maybe just maybe these people should have went out and voted so this didn't happen? Exactly. You celebrate democracy for what it is and sometimes your guy/girl loses. Protesting, especially violently is dumb at this point IMO
