  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 11:02 AM) When did Ichiro play in the World Series? Probably the same time Santana WASNT pitching in the playoffs.
  2. QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 11:00 AM) Stupid questions deserve to be answered too. Something you still haven't done. And according to you, since Willie has better postseason numbers, and Timo has comparable numbers, you'd rather Willie than Bonds, and you'd just as soon take Timo than Bonds. *sits back, kicks up feet, grabs popcorn*
  3. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:56 AM) C'mon "Mr. Know-it-All". Get $1,000.00 together (if you can), pick a place to meet, I'll show you my ARDC card, take your money, emasculate you even further, and send you on your way! If trying to get personal with me is your way out of getting flamed for your crappy outburts be my guest. Internet liars are a dime a dozen.
  4. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:54 AM) the online bet means nothing. Quit posturing, you have been so wrong in your last couple arguments its just silly The best is his PM that he sent me, where he got confused and called ME the lawyer.
  5. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:30 AM) True...but WINS are THE most important stat. I'd rather have a 20 game winner with a 4.00 era than a 13 game winner with a 3.00 era. This is the greatest claim EVER.
  6. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:49 AM) You've already "pussed-out" on that bet...don't make me embarass you! You mean when I said I agreed to the bet. Nothing could possibly be as embarrassing as being you.
  7. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:19 AM) Based on the last 5 seasons! BTW, if that's the case, how could you say Peavy, Halliday, Santana, Prior, Zambrano are even as good as Buehrle? They have had 1, maybe 2 good years each. This claim.
  8. Jesus, I think RNW would have presented a more sensible argument than this guy.
  9. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:43 AM) If you insist. (You're the genius here, not me.) No, you are the (fake) attorney.
  10. Steve, Are you just ignoring the fact that Santana not only plays in the AL, but has more wins, a better ERA? Oh and you are just ignoring that has HAS pitched in the playoffs and dominated.
  11. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:36 AM) We cannot make an assumption on Santana either way, because we have yet to see him pitch in a playoff. 1 start 1 Win 1.29 ERA 7 IP 3 hits 1 ER on a solo hr oh and 9 k's ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  12. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:36 AM) We cannot make an assumption on Santana either way, because we have yet to see him pitch in a playoff. And now you've proven yourself to not know a damn thing about baseball. He pitched in the playoffs the year before this 1 start 1 Win 1.29 ERA 7 IP 3 hits 1 ER on a solo hr oh and 9 k's Be gone
  13. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:33 AM) And they guy with the lower era could have that cuz his team is better defensively and/or cuz he pitches in the NL. Well then how about Santana, who had a lower ERA and more wins than Mark over the past three years? Then would you consider him better?
  14. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:31 AM) I was referring to Halliday, Peavy, Zambrano, Prior and Santana! At least spell his name right. Halladay. Halladay, Peavy, and Santana are all better pitchers than Mark. In fact, Mark had the worst playoff ERA out of any of the guys on our staff I believe. Oh and to answer your wins question, Santana has more wins over the last 3 years than Mark
  15. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:28 AM) I asked, if you had a WS on the line and had to pick one of these guys to win your game 7, who do you pick? I'd go with MB (or Pedro) (proven CLUTCH pitchers). Pedro huh? I would pick Andy Pettitte over Pedro in any playoff series. Plus he outpitched Mark in the WS Roger Clemens, Randy Johnson, Johan Santana, Curt Schilling all before Mark.
  16. Plus Santana has been starting full time for about 3 years.
  17. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:26 AM) Over the last 5 yeras, who has the most wins out of all the pitchers mentioned? You guys have access to all the stats...educate me. Now you are talking about something that has alot to do with the team that they play for. ERA's are about the best statistic that shows how good a pitcher is individually. Cant you just admit that you didnt know what you were talking about and leave it at that?
  18. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:23 AM) I agree. Over the course of their respective careers, Clemens is much better than Buehrle. However, in 2006 AND beyond, I'd rather have Buehrle than Clemens. (Rocket is 43!!!) So you would rather have a current pitcher over one that is retiring? Smart move.
  19. Come on, at least watch some baseball to base your opinions on something. Peavy's last 2 years were better than Mark's. His career ERA is better than Marks. Halladay and Santana both have Cy Young awards. Santana's last 4 seasons he posted ERAs of 2.88, 2.61, 3.07, 2.99. Halladay also has a career ERA better than Mark. His last 5 seasons looked like this: 2.41, 4.20, 3.25, 2.93, 3.16. I would rather have Mark over EVERY cubs pitcher. But basically They have had better than 1 or 2 good years. You need to research other players man.
  20. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:17 AM) How is that even possible? Rocket had an insanely great season last year, he was better than Buehrle in just about every facet. so was pettite
  21. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:15 AM) You're right about Clemens being the best of all time...but RIGHT NOW, I'd take Buehrle. 5 years ago, I'd have taken Rocket. How so? Clemens had a 1.87 ERA last year and a 1.01 whip. 185 ks as well. Mark wasnt as good as him.
  22. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:12 AM) The point is, Buehrle's credential are every bit as good, if not better, than any of the pitchers previously mentioned. Which ones? The cy young winners? Cause no, his credentials arent as good.
  23. QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 10:11 AM) Because your opinions are wrong! You can have opionions, but coming on here, stating that in your opinion the earth is really flat, then expect everyone to just respect that view is ignorant.
  24. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 25, 2006 -> 09:53 PM) Baseball is about winning WHEN IT COUNTS! For example, Clemens dominated in the regular season last year...what happened to him in the WS? What happened to Pettitte? Prior folded in 2003. What are you talking about? Clemens is arguably the best pitcher EVER. Pettite basically out pitched buerhle in their face off, and he has the most post season appearences of all time.
  25. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 07:29 AM) Its not bashing. I just think that Sirius will take the lead. Based on what? Im not trying to argue here, but there is a clear difference in quality of sound and technology. XM is trading at roughly 5 times what sirius is going for. I dont see a changing of the guard anytime soon.
