  1. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 01:24 PM) They may go after Derrek Lee after 2006 if the Cubs don't lock him up soon. Yankees+Red Sox will chase him HARD.
  2. http://www.transbuddha.com/index.php/buddh...tion_punch_out/ from ESPN page 2
  3. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 12:45 PM) You are now crossing the Michigan Man-Love line. WSJ will now fiercely make up bulls*** and call it fact to prove that the guy he has been cheering for since 2001 is good enough to make it in the NFL. Prepare yourself. Sad thing is, you can tell he has just become a fan of the team. Talking about U of M wideouts without mentioning some of their best ones, and saying Desmond Howard instead pretty much sums up his argument.
  4. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 12:57 PM) No we dont. Chris Harris is the best DB on our team, and thats saying a lot. Tillman is a more complete CB than Vasher and Mike Brown is a goddamn Pro Bowler. Chris Harris=Rookie Tillman=slow, average corner Vasher=pro bowler as well, but not as complete as Tillman? Brown=injury prone, 2 seasons truncated because of injury Sounds like a little help would be warranted. Oh, and our defense doesnt use a NT, so why would we draft one?
  5. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 11:17 AM) tell that to Braylon Edwards and Desmond Howard. Thats the best you could come up with?? Desmond Howard had 1597 CAREER Yards with 7 td's in 10 years in the NFL Braylon Edwards has played ONE year, compiling 512 yards and 3 td's before getting injured. Can you please point out to me how you can call these two players "not busts." You have one player who played for 10 years and ended up with about 1 decent season worth of stats total. And a rookie who has only played 10 games, and played average in that time. Seriously Josh, tell me how they are classified as established stars?
  6. QUOTE(Steve Bartman's my idol @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 08:56 AM) 2. Reading is a skill...look into it! Was that neccessary here?
  7. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 08:19 AM) bobby carpenter, lb, ohio state. (sorry addy!) You took mine!!! This guy was so underrated throughout the year. His value is for several reasons. 1. as a LB 2. As a pass rusher, possibly in a 3-4 set. 3. Dropping into coverage. The guy is amazing and should be a steal.
  8. QUOTE(samclemens @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 07:19 AM) i would prefer to keep cotts and whomever else would have been blocked off for prior. i think hes extremely overrated, and hes never pitched in he american league before. Cotts wasnt included in the deal. I would bet on that, his name was thrown around in this thread to try and make a point.
  9. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 08:54 AM) Believe what you want. The guy has had elbow problems and heel problems NOT related to his collision with Choi and the linedrive to his elbow. Just because one doctor is quoted, doesnt mean that other doctors dont agree with his assessment. Nice research by the way, but yeah you are correct. His lower body mechanics are very good, but they say that the injury to his leg may have caused a reliance on his arm which caused the stiffness. His arm motion is said to cause alot of stress on his elbow and shoulder.
  10. QUOTE(Fingish @ Jan 17, 2006 -> 08:56 AM) Don't forget to mention the Cubs fan running on the field and getting his ass kicked by Randy Myers in the mid-90's. Also the Cubs fans who stole the hat from the Dodgers bullpen guys at Wrigley. I was at that game, my obligation to go to one cubs game a year. Turned out great, I was two sections over.
  11. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 06:22 PM) he is 6'1" and is not very slow. He has good speed but not great speed. He runs his routes well and he catches almost anything in sight. Is that the stats or your man-love talking? His YPC is pretty terrible, and he will have trouble with separation from the corner. He is ALOT like Gage.
  12. QUOTE(SnB @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:37 PM) says "y'all" in real life, but tries his best to not say it on the board. Lives in extreme proximity to the best breakfest food ever, haystacks.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 01:14 PM) Is it possible he hasn't used it because he hasn't had the personnel? Is it possible its just not in the scheme? He believes he has the personnel enough to throw it to them in the end zone, but apparently nowhere else on the field.
  14. Kriss Kross and Arrested Development on CD. Tape I think was MJ. Record was also MJ or Beatles.
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 10:02 AM) Not having a TE to throw to will limit the plays designed for the TE. Desmond Clark is a waste of a roster spot, simple as that. You prove my point even more by saying "our offense does not feature the tight end." Your right, it doesnt. But getting an impact TE will open up the playbook that much more, and make this offense more diverse. Maybe we dont feature the tight end because it is not in the scheme. Some offenses like the west coast feature a TE as a major player, some dont. Turner hasnt shown a propensity to use it at the pro or college level.
  16. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:22 PM) This is all speculation from us--since we have no idea what the Orioles would seek. But if you believe it would cost JUST McCarthy, well, then obviously you didn't notice the outrageous demands Orioles presented for Tejada. It wouldn't be just McCarthy. McCarthy and Cotts may not have been enough. What sense would it make for a pitching depleted team to deal Prior for just McCarthy? Are you willing to forsake BMac and Cotts for three years of Prior? As I said earlier in the thread, I believe Prior is playing for free-agency; aka, big bucks. If the White Sox were positive they could obtain him beyond his Cubs' contract, and Contreras would bring us a decent package, then I'd approve it. Sort of ridiculous to argue on three possible scenario's which stem from one point that never occured. Personally, Cotts/McCarthy or Prior would have been fine. I'm just attempting to guess a reasonable cost. BMAC+Contreras+prospects yes I would do it. Cotts wouldnt even be in the deal.
  17. who care what it would have cost? I would rather have prior than BMAC any day of the week.
  18. If we would have to re-register, I would log on quickly and steal someone else's name for sure.
  19. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:26 AM) I agree that Howry's an ass, blah blah blah, but come on guys, those of you saying Zambrano is just "ok" is total bulls***. I'd take him over Freddie, Garland, the usual Contreras, McCarthy just about any day. He's as dominant as a pitcher gets, he just needs to get his head right. Upper 90's, good breaking stuff, and he can go 8 innings, easy, how is he a #2? He is a legit ACE. But Wood, Prior, Maddux and whoever else is not. Prior has had one good year, and has a ton of potential, but at this point he isnt an ACE. Wood is one of the biggest dissapointments ever, Madddux is a grandpa, and the rest of the crap is the rest of the crap. Howry is just campaigning, his old team had a better staff last year.
  20. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 16, 2006 -> 12:36 AM) Getting a TE is painfully obvious. I understand that we may need one, but our offense does not feature the tight end, and our current TE's havent even been used as much as they should. If we draft a TE in the first round, he will go to waste.
  21. QUOTE(zenryan @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 10:39 PM) The Bears were finally exposed today. Their defense has been overrated since day 1. I knew they were a 1 and done team come playoff time They were overrated since they were 1-3? Or when they were giving up the least points in the NFL?? I guess the "ratings" really had something to do with that performance huh? Go back to your hole.
  22. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 15, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) Josh, please keep bashing Rex. I think he's listening. He would be the only person who takes Josh seriously.
