QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) This guy better be a die hard Sox fan. He isnt, rumor has it he doesn really watch sports. He was an update guy. -
QUOTE(WCSox @ Dec 31, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) He's already been booted out of the rotation in favor of proven talent (Vasquez). Thanks for proving my point! EH,the season hasnt started yet. I wouldnt believe everything you hear.

Contreras has a much higher value that Taveras, and KW isnt really in the business of aquiring another half prospect to replace a new CF that HE DRAFTED. This is seriously the worst rumor.
-
QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) I couldnt resist. It was there, I had to do it. Snake Oil is still funny...hahahahaha
-
Seriously, Taveras is not that great. I would rather have Anderson IMO. This trade sounds like crap coming out of a reporters ass. I dont doubt that Houston may have offered this deal, but I dont think KW, after trading his starting Cf from last year, because of his confidence in the newcomer ( a player he Drafted!!!) and just unload a top of the rotation SP for ANOTHER young Cf'er. It doesnt make sense, and this guy is full of s***.

I know that the guy knows jack s*** about the sox though, not sure its a great idea. -
QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) He cost too much to get and alot of $$$$$$$$$$$. other than that.... Well, I have already said why in a lengthy post. But I think Uribe and Contreras have higher value than Tejada IMO. If we had unlimited budget, then yes he is a good fit. But I really like Uribe's talent, his youth, and his contract. Because he have to resign some EXPENSIVE pitchers in a couple of year, and uribe's contract will allow that, Tejadas wont.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:48 AM) Im waiting for Tejada to stop reiterating his trade demand, to tell you the truth. We all know. He doesnt have to keep telling ESPN he wants to be traded and continue throwing his team under the bus for lack of action. dude your sig=priceless

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:44 AM) The Orioles were perennial losers before Tejada signed with them. He signed with them because he wanted a lot of money, not because he wanted to win. Since he already got his fat contract, he thinks he can just demand a trade because he wants to win now. That's being a cancer to me. Yes they were, but he said that they told him they were going to make moves to make the team a contender. based on his storied desire to compete, I believe that he thought they were going to improve the team. Regardless I still think he is a great leader, on two different teams. i still dont want him here however.

QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:42 AM) I don't know how someone could type that much. It's amazing. And most of it makes no sense. It really is a mystery

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) Good point. Isn't demanding a trade two years after agreeing to a long, multi-year contract sort of being a clubhouse cancer? He accepted a contract from the Orioles and is now demanding a trade because he doesn't want to play for them anymore. Keep in mind, Tejada really has no right to demand a trade. He wants a trade because he is disappointed with the Orioles' front office moves and he is sick of playing for a losing team. He is basically telling his teammates that he doesn't think they are good enough to win anything. Right, he thinks that the management lied to him, and have not made the moves to make the team a contender. Have they, do you think they have made the effort to make the team win?? They havent been a team in contention since he had been there, and his presense stopped a long legacy of losing seasons. The management lied to him when he signed, and im sure he is hurt by that. Here he is, playing his heart out, not missing a game, producing, and the front office is doing nothing to help?? Yeah im sure he is upset. The fact is, he is well known, by players, management and teammates to be a great presense, and a leader. It is a FACT. Even the lame ESPN scouting page has his strength as a tremndous leader and competitor. Calling him a cancer is a bit much IMO.

QUOTE(Adam G @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:34 AM) *IF* not *WOULD* I would stick to having other people defend your ideas.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:32 AM) well aint that some s*** If the guy quit on his team last year, I want no part of him. His last two months were pretty bad for his standards. And I am still curious about his Palmeiro connection. Cancer is a bad word though, I dont think thats right If he quit, so be it. But the guy is a serious leader, and it is well known that his energy brings improvement to teams. his own teammates say this, not some asshole sports writer who just wants to make waves. Remember, the opinion of one person, is not always true example: AJ Although I know what you are thinking right now: I wonder what VaFan thinks about this.

QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:28 AM) Hers another quote about Tejada from Foxsports.com It isnt made up Rock, its widely speculated. You are talking about one half season of speculation, preceded by a career of praise and leadership. Plus I dont take your posts seriously
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) He didn't say he was a cancer. He said that's what his Cub fan friends thought he was. And then he said it. He said he would tear a team apart from within. He can defend himself.
-
Heres a quote about Tejada Tejada plays baseball with passion and drive. He demonstrates his reverence for the game with hard play and vocal leadership. Teammate Brian Roberts told Peter Gammons that Tejada is the best player in the game because, 'He has an uncanny ability to knock in runs... his energy. He is always up, pushing everyone and making the entire team better." Orioles' hitting instructor Terry Crowley said, "This franchise changed the day he arrived." Bear in mind I dont want him here. But making up s*** like him being a cancer in the clubhouse is stupid. Let the cubs fans do that.
-
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:16 AM) If its about Tejada's attitude, I think you should let that slide. There are a few people in the Baltimore organization that thought Tejada quit on the team last year. No it wasnt, it was about his contacts. But still Tejada is WELL known to be one of the best clubhouse guys in the league, a true leader.
-
QUOTE(Adam G @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 11:00 AM) If he doesnt tear them apart from the inside out. Dude, where do you get this crap.
-
QUOTE(AndytheClown1 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) You are correct sir! And as to how reliable he is, I would trust him with my life. He is my father after all. I call BS
-
QUOTE(Adam G @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 10:51 AM) The Cub fans I talk to want absolutely no part of Tejada. They're under the impression that he's a real SOB, clubhouse cancer type. Many in Baltimore said that he gave up on the team in the second half last year. HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA. Whew, that was a good laugh. That really shows you how much cubs fans know. Tejada is WELL known in the league to be one of the best clubhouse guys, a real team leader and a motivator. He has an extreme desire to win, and comes to play every day. I believe he hasnt missed a game in like 4 years. The guy is a gamer, your source sucks.

If I was Boston, the trade with Tampa would be a little higher on my list than aquiring Reed.
-
Pfffff first Kyle had me laughing then I saw Jim's post. Well played, both of you.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 01:13 AM) I don't think Tejada is going anywhere but it's more realistic with Garland signed long term if you ask me. Like I said though, I highly highly doubt Miggy gets moved this year. Doesnt garland have a no trade clause for this year?
