  1. If you drive by, most of the seats in the UD are torn out.
  2. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Way to much for a guy who had 1 good year, not a big fan of paying Garland this much. No way should he get this high a contract from a desperate team yes from the White Sox .............NO Ha!!!!!!!! Thanks for giving me a good chuckle at the end of the day.
  3. I wonder if KW forsees an injury to one of the pitchers and just wants to make sure we are as covered as possible for at least the first half.
  4. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) Of course, its obviously not to late for Hill to reach his potential, but if he's the hot prospect that the Cubs make him out to be, you'd think he'd at least get a sniff of the big leagues the past few years. You hit the nail on the head right there. THEY make him out to be this sweet prospect, but he really isnt. He is a serviceable pitcher, but is not the next zito that they make him out to be. You cant really trust the cubs organization's rating of prospects anyway. They have traded away more talent than they have developed.
  5. IMO, there is nothing wrong with him being a fan of his home town team. If I was a pro athlete, my love for the sox, and the bears would never falter.
  6. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) You should know what you're doing. my 14 game losing streak speaks for itself.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 10:47 AM) I hate the Cubs (have to use that disclaimer whenever I praise any Cubs player), but Hill and Pie have a TON of value. Even though I've never been impressed by Hill, he's considered one of the best lefty pitching prospects in baseball. From watching him, im unimpressed, and I think that the cubs man love of Pie has lead to an increase in his value. Chris Young is a better prospect than him IMO.
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) Tejada and Zito can join Furcal, Beltran, and others on the Cubs wet dream team. I cant even believe this nonsense has gone on this long. Hendry will regret the day he traded prior if that ever happens. Cubs fans think they can trade Rich hill for Abreu for god sake, their prospects arent worth s*** at this point. Even Pie is overrated. I hope they enjoy another 4th place finish.
  9. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) JoeBatterz, I am the same. an MVP. I got the same thing.
  10. The best part about when they put Rex in was that in his first throw he eclipsed Orton's ENTIRE first half total. When mentioning rookie QB's that have had a better season than Orton, how many of them had the league's #1 defense and a top running game to help them out? Orton's decision making and arm are horses*** compared to Rex. Even I have seen that after backing up Orton. Grossman is a much better option. Josh, be a man, admit that you were wrong, s*** even Anthrax did it.
  11. QUOTE(C_LEE45 @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 02:52 PM) Garland is wanting to pitch on the west coast so we have really know shot of signing him ,so how about Garland for Zito atleast we would have a shot at re-signing Zito and still getting a good starter in return. So, trade a FA pitcher, for an FA pitcher? Nice Dont forget to turn off your xbox.
  12. I remember when Aj was hitting and I kept telling the guys around me that I wanted Crede to come up cause he would hit a walk off, that was my only psychic moment ever.l
  13. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 02:29 PM) That is completely true. It's really amazing too, something as simple as 1 or 2 new friends that care about you can turn you from escaping into the bad things, and instead get you back on track, which makes these sort of things even sadder. Seriously, or even a teacher, or a student adviser can help. I did graduate work in psychology when I was at school, and I worked in our clinic. Many of the professors down there had students constantly in their office just talking and hanging out with them. I looked at it as that many more kids that would have a better direction in their lives.
  14. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) Sad incident--18 year olds usually don't drop dead. Likely, he died from one of the following: murder, suicide, drug/alcohol overdose. Exactly. College kids face a number of stressful situations, whether it is social, economical, or even family related, many college kids contemplate taking their own lives or even escape into drugs or alcohol. Its too bad that many of these kids dont have a place to go to talk to someone who will listen and not judge.
  15. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 02:15 PM) Uh, ok. Well, you got the exact reaction that you wanted considering how all of the previous posts were offering condolences. That I wanted? Yeah people love to be called classless. That was also before there were others who came on this message board and decided that a discussion about the cause of death was warranted. Because it is. People die, and although its hurtful to people close to the death, we all question why and how. Its human nature.
  16. soooo. Jims thread will surpass the other one in 20 min?
  17. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) Found that one ironic considering your first post in this thread. And how so? Speculating on the cause of death vs debating the parenting practices by Tony Dungy. Pretty weak.

  19. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 12:37 PM) Tony on the road a lot could have something to do with that. ahh, lets not go down that road
  20. QUOTE(Fingish @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) I was looking at your list, and I started thinking that it really does add up to that it is better to hold on to him than trade him right now. First, I would add to the Positive side: We'll know what holes need to be filled better at the trade deadline. Then if you look at it, "May regress into the Garland of old" and "Maybe increase his value" are two sides of the same question that is impossible to know the answer to right now. "May hurt BMAC's dev" and "Bullpen better with BMAC" pretty much offset each other as well. What I'm left with is: Positives: Pitching Staff is better with Garland May increase offers We'll know better what our needs are at trade deadline. Negatives: May only get draft picks To me that looks like a pretty strong case for hanging onto him for a bit. The only real negative is that we could end up getting some good draft picks. Maybe Javier or Freddy don't perform well next season and Garland becomes invaluable, we keep him, win the World Series again and let him sign somewhere else and take our trophy and our draft picks and have a nice winter. I agree with you on this for sure.
  21. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 22, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) Dude, is there some reason why we think Bobby can't handle that role for the next 6 years before his arbitration eligibility runs out? He is prone to injury and already has a screw in his elbow.
