QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) Please excuse me for not acknowledging that part of your post. The rest of what you posted was already discussed. Such as when you first get a dog they are not usually already used to a collar. They usually don't like the collar when you first put it on them either. They do a variety of things, such as scratching it and jumping wildly until they get used to it. For instance I had a dog that was 4 months old (we got her when she was 2 months old) until she stopped scratching her neck because of the collar. We tried many different fabrics and collars and she just didn't like it on her. That point you were trying to make was not a good point at all. It was also discussed that the material an ankle brace would be made out of would definitely be chew proof. Both points of your post didn't seem to be necessary and it didin't seem to contribute to the thread at all. They were already discussed and put to rest. That said, thank you for the cell phone information, another ridiculous product. You really need to relax when reading other people's post. Its ok for him to voice his opinion even though YOU put the argument to rest, he still has the right to put his two cents in. If you felt like there was nothing more to contribute to the thread, just let it be instead of telling someone that they cant post.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 04:14 PM) loophole You know what though? Those things really work. I was at a cigar bar in indianapolis a couple of weekends back, and I was smoking a cigar, as was most in the bar, and there wasnt a single haze of smoke in the place. Great invention IMO.

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) Glad he is not going to Cleveland, that change-up is wicked. You mean the pitch that A-row hit over a building?

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) It has probably been mentioned but I think KW should look at acquiring Frank Catalanotto to bat 2nd for us. He has always killed us, plays all OF positions and is inexpensive at 2.7 mil a year. 301/367/451 were last years numbers. I think it's worth a shot. Any opinions? Where would he play? Thats a hefty salary for a utility guy

Seriously though, I think everyone needs to stop a second and think. Do you REALLY think ozzie will want to get rid of Timo? We all know about his "clutch" hitting, and Ozzie loves the guy. Is it really feasable that he would want to get rid of him? I dont think it will happen.

QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Dec 8, 2005 -> 09:20 AM) I think I recall that Mackowiak always starts out hot and cools down a whole lot in the second half of the season. Looking at his stats, though, it seems that he might not have cooled down as much in the second half of last year. He KILLS the cubs too.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 12:11 PM) Cool! That's a whole month of me touting the great Ross Gload without you raining down verbal fire on me!!! Just kidding. Sort of. anytime

QUOTE(knightni @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) Jose, capslock (ALL BIG LETTERS) signifies yelling on messageboards. proving once again that cubs, do in fact, not rule.

QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 02:21 PM) Strangly this last week I was thinking WHAT IF.. KW took a chance and traded for Patterson. He is a solid defensive CFer. But for some reason he just couldn't click on the North side. But would the Cubs trade with us? Who would they ask for? I just don't see it happening. He needs a change of scenary and remaining and going from Clark & Addison to 35th & Shields is not that much of a scenary change. Well of course our scenary is a world champion scenary I honestly believe that a majority of his struggles are becuase of the media pressure and the pressure of cubs fans. Link that together with a horrid clubhouse attitude and anyone can struggle. He has shown flashes of being a good hitter, and I think its going to take the right manager to bring it out. That manager is not the laid back toothpick eating worthless manager on the north side.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) Yesturday, All the boys over at ESPN said this is day when a bunch of moves will happen. Looks like there already starting.... That avatar is so sweet, but that sig is so terrible.... I think this is a good trade for the Braves, they need some extra arms, smoltz aint gettin any younger and they are losing bullpen arms like crazy.

Yeah, I dont attack you for at least a month.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) Well, at least this ends that silly "Pierre to the Sox" talk. I still think B.A. will wind up both producing more runs and saving more runs than Pierre next year. I agree. I would rather have BA than Pierre.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 09:22 AM) cubs fans also thought Corery Patterson would be as good as Willie Mays. BA ranked them 17th and 18th best prospects respectively in the southern league, which was loaded this year. Pinto and Nolasco just happened to be #2 and #3 in the league in ERA (2.71 and 2.89), both averaging a K/IP, and 1.22 WHIPs. And although they are both repeating after failed attempts in AAA, they are both age appropriate. Also on that BA ranking was Murton (12), Jenks (13), Broxton (14), and Hill (15).

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) Yea, steal. Those prospects aren't much. Pierre is a good leadoff hitter and the flubs were desperate for outfield help. Who says these prospects arent much? Cubs fans seem to think that they are. Mitre has shown signs of talent, who says he cant come around playing for a decent pitching coach? They got a one-year rental of a player that I wouldnt really want on our team, thats for sure.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) No thanks. Brian Anderson is gonna be our cf. People need to let it go. Im wondering why people are still clamoring around looking for a CF'er, now to the point of bringing up probably one of the WORST options out there for this team. We have some of the best minor league OF talent in the MLB. Anderson was KW's first round pick in 2003 and he has been crazy about him. We have been waiting to plug some of this talent in our lineup and see what happens, but year after year we have traded our top picks away. I think its time to see what our system can produce. Seattle seems to think that our system produces some pretty good players, why dont we find out for ourselves. -end

QUOTE(Pierzynski 12 @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 09:03 AM) We'll see how good he is for the Cubs. The Infield at wrigley should help his numbers out a bit.

QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Dec 7, 2005 -> 02:31 AM) People here have been kocking Hendry a ton (not everybody) for his job as a gm over the last few years but this looks like another steal from the Marlins given that the Cubs got to keep Hill. I wish we could have landed Pierre but he was a luxury, not a necessity Steal? The marlins got three young players for cheap, the cubs got a light hitting defensive liabiity for ONE year.

Jenks:South Side will never be the same

Did I mention that I did some shots with him on sunday night? -
QUOTE(Wedge @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:32 AM) I realize that OSU has Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher, and Jon Vilma at linebacker this year, but Quinn is a strong kid that can break a lot of arm tackles, even from hefty defensive linemen. Yes, if he gets hit head on by AJ Hawk, he's going down, but Brady is more mobile than you think. Consider this: against USC when we need a third down back the most, who did Weis effectively use as a third down back? OSU's defense is better than USC's if he would like to scamper against a first round LB i hope he has his chinstrap on.

seriously though, I dont know what im doing, is there an instruction booklet?

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) Rock Raines did bring up a good point about the abrasiveness and the lighter fur and less skin around the leg area bringing infection. That is a good point that I agree would stop this from working. But the paw being the same size or almost the same size as the foot doesn't seem to be an issue. Summation of argument. Either way I think we are a few years from this solution as of right now.

QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:52 AM) Watch your dogs collar. It does as well. When it goes to pick something up, put its head down or lift it up. It also goes around in a circle. It never just sits in place. It can not be on the neck that tight to just sit in place. You could do the same thing with the ankle/leg brace. It doesn't have to be too tight or too loose. It doesn't and won't slide up and down the entire leg. It is not as viable an option as a collar I agree, but it is a realistic option. I would not want that around my pets neck for reasons I have already stated and that does not make it a viable option for me. Yes, the collar move a tiny bit, but the neck area is boltered with lots of fur and the thickest amount of skin on the dog's body. The neck area is totally insulated from wear and tear from this excess skin. The leg, or ankle of a dog has the least amount of skin, especially the thickness. This would cause immediate wear and infection, which as you know, leads to licking and biting of said area. The build of a dog doesnt allow this solution to be a good option.
