  1. ok, ok, break it up. Lets not let the debate get out of hand huh?
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) Awww good for you, here's a lollipop, now run along kid. Dont be salty just cause you arent in the know.
  3. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) The collar is not an already accepted part of their routine when you first get them to wear one. Some of them really react badly to them. Scratching it all the time. Jumping around when you put it on. Trying anything to get it off. It just becomes routine and habit if you leave it on them. As far as the additional weight, it doesn't have to be a big thing or made out of some heavy material. It could be thin as well so it would not be moving up and down the leg very much. Thats the thing though. Compare their neck with something that has extreme amounts of movement like their legs. The bracelet will slide up and down and up and down constantly with their movement and running. The collar sits in a place where it is fairly stationary. Its just not practical, it COULD be done, but it is not as viable of an option as a collar-based system.
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) We almost bought a boxer. Totally fell in love with them. My uncle had a rott.. way loyal, but way too many health issues as he aged. It was very sad watching him get old. Yeah, thats a serious issue with both breeds, they dont live extremely long either. Mine is not purebred so he may have other things going for him, but at 5 years old you can already see some wear and tear on his joints etc. Great dog however, extremely loyal and protective. Im definatley doing to look at boxers and labs though for my next pet, I like them both alot.
  5. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 10:31 AM) Huh? The pet's front legs get narrower as it goes down and then you have a paw to stop it from going any further. It doesn't have to be too tight or too loose. It will never slide off. SSI, The onyl issue is that the walking/running motion would make the ankle device move up and down with steps and possibly irritate/rub off skin and fur on the area. Not only that, but the additional weight on the ankle could cause a change in gait which could possibly cause joint problems down the road, or even aggrevate dysplasia. Dogs are too prone to chewing on their limbs, and they move too much to make this a worth white idea. The collar is already an accepted part of their routine and would be the easiest way to incorporate the device into their lives.
  6. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 11:07 PM) I live in the burbs and I love rottys. They are sweet dogs. Unfortunately some assholed tend to buy them for the wrong reasons and raise them wrong, but that is no the norm. I would definitely not be screaming or scurring and hiding in my own mini van. I am the proud owner of a boxer. I love all dogs, but the boxer breed is my absolute favorite. I will never own another breed again. LOVE boxers, that is going to be my next pet purchase for sure. LOVE rottys though, even though neighbors hate it, they are big loyal teddy bears.

  8. ust asking, thanks Dec 6 - The Phillies and Blue Jays explored a potential Bobby Abreu-for-Vernon Wells swap at the GM meetings, and those discussions have resumed at the winter meetings, ESPN.com's Jayson Stark reports. But since the Phillies want pitching if they trade Abreu, the names of Miguel Batista and Gustavo Chacin also might have to be tossed into the conversation. The Red Sox (possibly for Matt Clement and Trot Nixon) and Astros (potentially for Brandon Backe and Chad Qualls) also are showing renewed interest in Abreu. The Philadelphia Daily News reports that the Cubs learned Monday that they would need to include pitcher Mark Prior in any deal for Abreu.
  9. Manny suitors Dec 6 - According to The Boston Globe, there is substance to the rumor that the Red Sox are working on a three-way deal with the Diamondbacks and Angels. The Angels would get Ramirez, the D-Backs would get prospects from the Angels and the Red Sox would receive a package of players that includes third baseman Troy Glaus. Red Sox officials, The Globe reports, met with at least eight teams on Monday. The Mets, ESPN's Peter Gammons reports, continue to talk to the Red Sox about Ramirez, and they're are asking them to take second baseman Kaz Matsui in the deal along with Lastings Milledge, Aaron Heilman and other prospects.
  10. Detroit breakdown Dec 6 - Javier Vazquez exercised his right to decline a trade to Detroit, thus killing what the Diamondbacks thought would be a blockbuster for center fielder Curtis Granderson and right-hander Joel Zumaya, ESPN's Peter Gammons reports. Arizona GM Josh Byrnes says eight to 10 teams continued to have serious interest in Vazquez, The Arizona Republic reports. Any team interested in Vazquez would have to pick up the remainder of his salary, about $12M for each of the next two seasons.
  11. t's Official: Burnett Agrees With Jays A.J. BurnettThe Toronto Blue Jays agreed to terms Tuesday with Burnett on a five-year, $55 million contract, a source told ESPN.com's Jerry Crasnick. The deal will be announced at an afternoon news conference in Dallas.
  12. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 09:51 AM) I'm sure he's an ass, but I am also sure she is so damned high maintenance that she could cause a saint to cheat on her. If she was as hot as she appears at times, I dont think i would cheat.
  13. I drool and clench. Horrible habits. Today im going to look at some more beds, hopefully I just pull the trigger.
  14. QUOTE(trev76 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) when ever ohio state blitzes you'll see what ND is so good at short passes to their 6'5 recievers and they break so many tackles... and have u ever seen a nd game? Brady Quinn breaks more tackles then any quarterback i think If for a moment you think that Brady Quinn could break one of OSU's LB's tackles you have another thing coming.
  15. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 09:36 AM) Vazquez is a head case. No thank you. Keep Garland for '06. TB would want a few players that are garunteed for 3 to 4 years down the road. He would fit in well on this team then, with a couple of cancers.
  16. I know they said that we were going to get into talks with Mike Myers on the redio this morning. Which makes me think we are looking to unload Marte.
  17. QUOTE(Reddy @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 09:13 PM) just throwing this out there - not sure what we'd do for another pitcher but, whattabout Garland? Trade Garland for Crawford, then pick up Vazquez
  18. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) I love Fathom, one the best posters here IMO. He knows that, and thats why I can give him crap about it. He also might be right. We all could be WAY off in the demands for Crawford. Remember what they wanted for Huff at the deadline..... Different GM now.
  19. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) I am all for trading Fields. i was never sold on him since the day he was drafted. He has potential talent and may compaired his bat to that of Venturas, but his fielding is SUSPECT at best. Before he becomes a regular Major Leaguer, he'll be shifted to 1st or the Outfield. He will never be a major league third baseman. Im actually kind of agree with you there. His fielding is seriously starting to look a little suspect for his experience level. Hitting hitting is only ok to me. I wouldnt be opposed to dealing him.
  20. Seriously though, I have no idea what im doing.
  21. QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 6, 2005 -> 01:53 AM) What is your aim screename? If you do not have one you download aim and get one. i only have msn messenger
  22. Price is a very good #2 receiver, he was forced into a #1 situation and that has pretty much leveled off his career. He could be decent next to the Moose.
  23. QUOTE(trev76 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 03:30 PM) HAHA Osu tear apart ND? No way in hell the Buckeyes are gonna be able to stop the irish passing game. And nd might not be that great on D but they do get quite a few turn overs Pfff, the Irish passing game hasnt faced a defense like OSU. Brady Quinn will be on his back all day long.
  24. in a surprise move, I took the stros. I like a challenge.
