QUOTE(3E8 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) The dude told me Pads were open...sorry Rock.
-
I'd rather wait for Mueller to sign. I think that all in all, he will realize that he doesnt have a starting job out there.
-
The cubs will overpay for Aubrey Huff and Lugo.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 02:22 PM) Ok if the Padres are open I will take them. I thought Rock took 'em. I did want the Pads, dont take em you ass!!!!

QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 04:08 PM) Then why are rumors running wild about a CF if KW was so confident. Where theres smoke theres fire. EVen, better, now base your judgement of Brian Anderson on some "hot stove" rumors, and maybe even some internet chatter. Would you like a shovel to dig your self even deeper?
-
QUOTE(AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) My reason is that in the games I say from him this year, he didn't look that good and his swing was terrible. Plus everyone on this board feels Owens is higher on the depth charts then Anderson to begin with. I'd rather go with experience over a rookie, for this season. hmmmmm, you'd be hard pressed to prove that EVERYONE thinks that Owens in higher on the depth chart. You are talking about KW's first round pick from 2003. He had been able to adapt and suceed at every level we have placed him. So what makes you think his swing is terrible? His small sample size this year? If that amount of at-bats makes a player, what kind of player was Konerko after than many this year? I believe that they would have similar numbers with BA having more power, am I wrong? If you want to really evaluate what kind of player Anderson is, why dont you take a peak at his minor league performance over a full season instead of sampling a couple of a bats to try and prove your bias? I believe in our scouting dept, Ozzie, and KW, and I hold their opinions much higher than your uninformed, uneducated assessment of Brian Anderson.

Stupid The DR team looks pretty damn good.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) I was concerned that might be the case. There is also the thing referred to on the Sox website as "Season Ticket Exchange Dates", which my rep said was a list of games you could trade your tickets for, 1-for-1, that gets decided on in March sometime. I am hoping I can just take advantage of that for a couple games. Anyone ever use that feature? Were the games any good last year that fell into that group? If you have lower bowl, you exchange it for upper deck. Being a huge WS snob, I dont do upper deck so it has been worthless to me. The best feature is the hotline and being able to get super premium tickets whenever you want.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2005 -> 07:01 PM) I saw that clip that night and have been quoting it ever since. Replayed it like a dozen times...their reactions are just absolutely freaking classic. BA with the "OH MY GOD!", Rowand responds with "No way, No, No Way" and then the ball lands. His voice is all sqeaking when he yells it too. I remember saying the exact same thing A-row was saying when it happened.
-
When BA surpasses A-row HR total from last year in the first half of the season, Im sure someone will notice.
-
Ticket exchange=stub hub. Overpriced way to get tickets. You are better off calling the ticket hotline and ordering for face value.

QUOTE(trev76 @ Dec 3, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) Does anyone know when the College football bowl games are announced im anxious to see if notre dame makes the fiesta bowl Yes and the bucks are going to tear them a new one. Im going to love finally watching my team dismantle the irish, man I hate ND.

QUOTE(J-MAN @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 01:20 PM) Might try one of those Temure-pedic mattresses! We got one of the foam mattress covers like the tempur-pedic and it really helps. Don't wake up feeling stiff and sore in the morning! Seriously, when I tried out the beds, they all felt the same. I am going to check out another place tonight as well.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) Harold and John have never even heard of Brian Anderson, I'll almost guarantee you that. That's what makes everything they say so funny, that's the main beef I have with espn, their analysts just dont do any research. East Coast, come on, A-row went to the phillies. All of a sudden, thome is bad and A-row is GOD. Remember when we played the Yankees? A-rod called him Rowland, and they acted like he came out of nowhere to play well in CF. We cant expect these guys to know EVERYTHING about our team, especially since they are hoping we were a flash in the pan and they dont have to learn about us even more. At this point the White Sox are a summary in a pre-show packet of information to these guys and thats it.

QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) Seeing as the Sox have had the biggest moves thus far as well as being World Series champs they will touch on this then go to in depth coverage of Josh Beckett, Papelbon to closer and the state of the union in regard to Manny. Then jump to Yankee money issues and Johnny Damon. I feel a bad wrap coming to the cub for not getting Furcal but wetting themselves over the overpayment for their bullpen. The bonds coverage up the ass followed by the steroid siuation. Dont forget the coverage on the cubs and how getting lugo, and pierre is the best move they couldve made.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 4, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) dude, walk over to your tv, bend down, press green button, turn off xbox. Trade FA pitcher for FA pitcher and expect the pitcher with the best resume to accept the lowest offer? Dude, come on.
-
QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) You forgot Bonds and his 40 pound head. Who wants to bet Peter Gammons' most important thing for this upcoming season is Griffey coming back from injuries and proving himself? Peter never changes it. I'll take that, I think he will say the most important thing is for the Red Sox/ Yankees to continue to develop minor leaguers instead of overspending on FA's like in previous years.

ill take phils or pads

Here is a preview of the spot: Cubs, Cubs Cubs, Red Sox Red Sox, Manny, Manny, Damon, Yankees, mets.

I have a rotty, he seldom ventures far from the house, but if he does I can just follow the trails of screams in the nieghborhood as the suburbanites scurry away from him and hide in their mini vans.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 11:35 AM) I think I'm one of the last 10 people in America that still has a waterbed. Have had one since I was ten years old. Everytime I sleep on a regular matress I wake up with a sore back... yeah, I roll over alot when I sleep I've been told, and that would just make it like sleeping in a raft on the ocean.

Browns' Edwards out for season
RockRaines replied to Pierzynski 12's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
f***!!! my fantasy team is getting raped this year, he was a throw in guy that I didnt even play much and still gets hurt. The Browns are a black hole. -
Bears might take look at Price, or might not
RockRaines replied to Pierzynski 12's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 5, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) Price would be a good punt returner and possibly our 2nd or 3rd receiver on this team. The only snag is that after the season is over, we wouldnt really need him with bradley coming back next year. -
S- I actually sat in one of those this weekend. They are really confined, I think it would have given me nightmares when I was a kid.

Kap-finished. Sounds like a pretty good idea.
