  1. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) I've turned into a pretty big Potbellys fan...The Wreck is a quality sandwich You should try their breakfast, better than MCd's
  2. Haeger!!!! Nice!!!!! The rest are not surprises to me. Owens and Young both have a chance to prove themselves in ST
  3. QUOTE(Felix @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) The problem with Pods is that he doesnt have an arm, and he gets bad jumps. Thats a bad mix to have in centerfield.. Anderson would perform better In CF, and he has an arm that is better than A-rows.
  4. QUOTE(sircaffey @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) I think Ozzie would give his left nut for that lineup... I will give my right.
  5. QUOTE(zach61 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 02:01 PM) Doesn't group 4 mean that they were the 4th group to go in batting practice and not the number of people in the group? You are correct.
  6. Spciy Italian on herb and cheese. Let Tom Onion Banana peps Green peps Mayo Salt pepper extra vinegar and oil. Best ever
  7. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) Ichiro being the solid defender he is, with the arm and speed he has, I was thinking he could play CF. Send Rowand in a trade, maybe, since he can probably play any OF position. Leave Dye in the outfield, instead of making him learn a new position. I think Ichiro would make an excellent CF, an excellent 2-hole hitter, and an excellent fit in the clubhouse with his work ethic and style of play. I know this is borderline racist and all, but it has to help to have another Japanese guy on the team as well.
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) I said this a while ago. Dye to 1st, Itchy to RF. I'm down with that. I am too. It was said that he feels that clubhouse leader ship is key. If we were somhow able to pull this off with the M's picking up some of his sal. And maybe we re-sign Kong. 1.Pods 2.Ichiro 3.Dye 4.Kong 5.Gooch 6.AJ 7.a-row 8.Crede 9.uribe
  9. would you, or wouldnt you. I would assume the M's would pick up some of his contract, but he was quoted in a Japanese newspaper and Timmy K confirmed it on Mike and mike. your thoughts?
  10. Umm, Dye, crede, MB, and a few others I think are avid hunters. I know that Cye and Crede share a little of that love. I think alot of the players are tight with each other in general. I did however see that Uribe seemed to be the leader of the latin players.
  11. NSBB is killing this move. "The history of baseball, especially the past 10-15 years, is littered with marginal relievers who have had 1 or 2 good years, surrounded by several seasons of garbage. We're talking about a guy who has been less effective out of the pen than Kyle Farnsworth, who was run out of town after supposedly being too inconsistent for somebody making $1.5m. Would anybody have been willing to go 3/11 on Farnsworth? I really liked the guy and wouldn't have considered it."
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) Because Philly fans on the MLB board are going to pull the trigger on this deal and all Do you want the wet blanket award. It interesting to see what they value, kind of like someone reading what YOU want in a trade, you over posting Beyotch!!!!!!
  13. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) Hah, I put them in the bar, not play them. Thats cool. I dont mind if its not brand new, but I would like a newer one for cheap for sure.
  14. Its always better when assessing a situation to look and see whats going happening on the other side of the fence Phils fans Interesting to see what they want
  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 11:21 AM) Totally! The fact that "their fans think" ... at all... is what I was saying "Since when?" about. Hahaha, too early to get all witty on me Yas. I was up too late trying to process the 35 hot wings I ate for dinner. Now I get it.
  16. I have a IIE and a 2GS still. Wing of fury still rocks!!!
  17. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) Did you see what part of your post that I quoted? Yes, that their fans think this is a solid move, I posted a quote that said it wasnt. Am I taking crazy Pills Yas, or are we totally off each others radar here?
  18. QUOTE(timotime @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) its going to be one or the other, abreu or PK, and my money says we dont end up with abreu. wow you sure are looking ahead. i would think that since we just won a world series, we should maybe hang on to what we have and not clean house, like you are talking about. Easy Ms Lippy, nobody said clean house. I think everyone would rather keep PK, of course this is the thread that is talking about interest In Abreu, maybe thats why we are talking about it?
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) Since when? Since I posted comments from their message board 2 posts before yours.
  20. QUOTE(YASNY @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) You guys are thinking from a Sox payroll point of view. The Cubs payroll is a totally different situation. Eyre's been a good pitcher since he went on medication for ADD. From a Cub perspective this is a solid move. Not what their fans think, but thats neither here nor there. Word has it that Chipper Jones took a salary cut so the braves can resign Furcal, if that happens, I expect suicides on the north side.
  21. from the cubs message board msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5094612 "CHICAGO (AP) - Free-agent reliever Scott Eyre agreed to terms on a three-year, $11 million contract with the Chicago Cubs on Thursday night. Eyre will earn $3 million in 2006, and $4 million in each of the following two years. The deal includes a $1.5 million signing bonus, and a no-trade clause and the third year is the player's option. Other incentives in the deal could add another $2.4 million over the three years. Eyre's contract calls for up to $300,000 a year in performance bonuses. He will receive $100,000 for 70 appearances and an additional $200,000 if he pitches in 80 games. There is also wording that would give Eyre additional money should he become the Cubs' closer." That's awful. Eyre can earn up to $13.4 million dollars if he hits all of his incentives every year. He will earn even more than that if he also becomes the Cubs' closer. What a terrible contract for a guy who has only had one really good season.
  22. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 18, 2005 -> 10:26 AM) They absolutely overpaid. But he is pretty good for a left setup guy - look at his era over the last 4 years. It's about 3.63. Four years is not a fluke. And if you look at his whole career, he looks like a guy who has been gradually, in fits and starts, getting better. If we could have gotten him for Marte money, I think it would have been a good move, since I think Eyre is getting better and Marte is... unpredictable. But, all for naught, since the Cubs buried him in cash. Its just, when i think of Scott Eyre, he doesn make me think, shut down reliever. There are much more feared guys in our own division that I wouldnt want us to face. This guy was in the right place with the right desperate team.
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxfan1022 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) but he did have one of the stronger arms in the AL We can go by Assists if you like, or just overall arm strength Manny 17 T long 12 V Wells 12 J Jones 10 C monroe 10 Ichiro 10 E brown 9 Dye 9 Lew Ford 9 T Hunter 9 Vlad 8 Hollins 8 Mench 8 Nixon 8 DeJesus 7 Gomes 7 Kotsay 7 Matos 7 Matsui 7 Mathews 7 Reed 7 Rios 7 Stewart 7 im stopping there.
  24. QUOTE(whitesoxfan1022 @ Nov 17, 2005 -> 11:38 PM) this may take a while , but i will try to name the ones off the top of my head: Ichiro Dye Vlad Rivera LAA s*** i cant think of any right now , but he has to be in the top 1/3 of arms in the al On our own team, Dye, Timo. Should we just focus on our own division, or should we go across the whole AL?
