  1. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) Gonzalez has a cannon for an arm and has more range than Uribe. In case you want to use the opinion defense of your claim. AG range factor as SS=4.53 JU RF SS=5.03 career AND Uribe had a better FP. And more put outs and Assists.
  2. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) Sorry it took me so long to get back and post to you. I was looking up the best place to get you some valium. Seriously though. Where did I say that I wanted to replace him. I said that is what I think Ozzie wants and what the Sox will do. Did I say I agreed? No, I just said what I think they will do. It makes the team very deep. I remember during the trade deadline that there were rumors of Alex Gonzalez coming here. I don't remember exactly, but I believe Alex Gonzalez had some favorable comments about Ozzie and that he would like to play for him. Now can you please point out to me where I said that I wanted this to happen or that I think it should happen? Where did I say that I agreed with such a move? I just gave an opinion on what I think will happen. That is all. Now calm down little guy. You can go on with your bad self and buy your own Cubs/Sox tickets for yourself and your boyfriend. Don't worry about me. By the way, you are definitely not a bigger Sox fan than I am. I am not saying I am bigger than you, but don't ever claim that I am not. Instead, why don't you try reading EXACTLY what is there instead of reading into things that aren't. Nice chatting with you. Sorry to dissapoint you, but season ticket holders already have cubs/sox tickets. So I am already set. Dont trip over yourself while you are backtracking ok? Yeah, I definatley think that the sox are going to trade for a starting SS who is not as good as the cheap on that they have, and have expressed extreme confidence in. And then sit down the better player as well, because Ozzie happened to coach on the same team as the guy. It definatley seems like a move that KW (the Gm of the year in many peoples eyes) would perform. I mean, it displaces a better player, hurts our payroll, and probably gets rid of a decent prospect in the meantime. Yes, sounds good. :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead Usually teams dont trade for another teams starter, who is not as good as their current player, and then sit the better player down. Seriously, who does this? But I see your logic. Uribe>>>>>>>Alex Gonzalez now you know, and learning is half the battle. Thanks for playing.
  3. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 04:37 PM) Maybe he is thinking about moving Dye to DH (replacing FT), Owens into the OF? Leaving a DH who is also the 4th OF, like 2005? Maybe not a bad idea, if Owens is ready. Didn't someone say earlier that he is hitting for some ridicluous average in winter ball right now? 408 I believe. He is either our leadoff hitter of the future, or a decent #2. He is a slap hitter, who gets on base with speed. Pretty good option I think.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) I agree with that, but you know KW and Ozzie want more speed, and Pierre's one of the few marquee speed guys who's available. eh, is it really worth that trade? Think of the strengths of this team, chemistry, defense, attitude, budget. I still think that Ozzie's quote means he is considering Jerrry Owens.
  5. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) Uhh.. no. This thread already has enough turns in it without a fight.. Agree to disagree and move on because no matter what he says you are not going to agree and it's going to turn into bulls***. there hasnt been a fight...yet. in fact, there hasnt even been debate. this will help kill the time until a debate breaks out www.housewithbride.com
  6. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 04:12 PM) Eh.. opinions no longer allowed here..? nope, you stay out of this
  7. IM waiting for SSI to back up his damn post.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) I think we found the way to get Rock angry. Please, someone build me a business case of why in hell we would supplant probably the best defensive SS in the AL for Alex freakin Gonzalez.
  9. Hey SSI, read this article, analyze the numbers, get back to me, thanks The truth
  10. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) Personally I believe Ozzie thinks Rafael Furcal would be the ideal SS. However, I think we will go after Alex Gonzalez from the Marlins to play SS. Gonzalez has a cannon for an arm and has more range than Uribe. His base stealing is not very good, but maybe Ozzie and Rock Raines can change that. Uribe will then be moved to our supersub position. I think this move will make Willie Harris expendable. We will keep Ozuna around for his speed and ability to play corner OF positions as well as all the infield positions. Are you nuts? Why would you move the best shortstop in the AL?, thats right, he deserved the GG more than anyone else. And now you are talking about putting him on the bench? Are you kidding me? Where do you get off calling yourself a sox fan while you know nothing about this team? Please tell me where Uribe deserves to get moved from starting to being a sub? Please enlighten us all. And me and you can put down a gentlemans bet that if uribe starts at SS for the sox next year you owe me cubs/sox tickets and vice versa. Your theories are unfounded and ridiculous, I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul. The sox have NO need for furcal or Gonzalez for that matter. We have a young, cheap, GG caliber SS who is one of the leaders of this team.
  11. QUOTE(Fingish @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 01:32 PM) great points, RR. would anyone else in the league but Uribe been able to make that last play of game 4 of the WS? i also think you are right about maybe not moving Iguchi from the #2 spot. in the first half Pods and Gooch could have been the best 1-2 combo in baseball, they did everything right for their roles. I just dont get everyone calling for Juan Pierre-come on, do we really need another scotty pods in the OF. We already have an under producing CF, do we need antoher one. Seriously, just because its possible to put someone else in a role where gooch was alreaday successful, doesnt mean we are going to go out and trade a starter, or sign a big name FA like Furcal. It just isnt going to happen! We already have holes to fill and a captain to sign, and you guys are callingfor KW to spend a whole bunch of money on a player we dont even need? Turn off your xbox consoles folks. If we are going to switch someone around in the order, its going to come from within the team or the org. I dont think Oz was saying go out and sign someone. I think its possible with Jerry Owens hitting 406 in the VWL that he may think of giving him a shot on the club next year to try the #2 position. Either that or someone who is already on the sox. I think you are all getting WAYYYY ahead of yourselves.
  12. BTW, anderson, Young, Ownes maybe Sweeney, is an unreal defensive OF as far as range goes.
  13. QUOTE(Clarkdog @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) I agree, Steff. I never thought about dealing Crede this offseason. I was pretty sure it would be Rowand. But Crede is an interesting option. Given the post season he had, his value has never been higher. You could get a lot of quailty for him if you packaged him in a trade with someone like Marte. They are grooming Fields for 3B, and Uribe can play the position until he is ready. In this scenario, and in combination with Ozzies comments, I could see the Sox get in the Furcal game. Also, IMHO Furcal would never accept playing out of position to play with the Yankees. He would be asking to be skewered by the NY press the minute he makes a critical outfield error while being payed a hefty contract from King George. It's the Cubs and the Mets right now. And if the above were the case, potentially the White Sox. soooo.....Move probably the AL's gold glove (realistically) SS to 3B to make room for an expensive FA that we dont really need? Then Trade away a possible GG 3B who was a HUGE part of our defense and playoffs last year because we want somewhere to stick our GG SS? Seems like alot of tinkering of a team just because we MAY want to try someone else at the #2 spot.
  14. Is there any way you think he may be talking about Owens? I mean, slap hitter, OBP, high avg speed, cheap. I dont see why he couldnt be a possible option to try out the spot in spring training. Frankly I dont see why everyone thinks we are going to buy a free agent or trade a starter just to aquire a possible replacement for a #2 hitter who performed well. If they cant fill it from within, you dont fix what is not broken.

    Be A Pal

Wow, picking a major. Just when you thought it was important, then you got into the real world. Honestly, unless you are trying to do something extremely specialized, your major doesnt make a large impact. I actually have a degree in Psych along with many hours of graduate school and research time. This all of course leads to my current profession as a enterprise software consultant. I can honestly say I do not use any of the knowledge that I aquired in my major. But the drinking I learned in college comes into play alot more often!
  16. I thought nipple confusion was getting picked off of first base, no?
  17. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) Brad Pitt is such an idiot. Yes, I'd take her over Angelina. I wouldnt.
  18. Gilestalk.com is getting pretty old. Rogo isnt ready and honestly isnt the power that we are looking for.
  19. The snubs are endless. Uribe, A-row, Crede, KW. Seriously, whats everyone's problem with us? We tore your dream teams apart b****es, and still no respect? The "over acheiving white sox" arent that good? We beat all of your candy ass teams, and rolled over the best in both leagues, not what? You can have your tiny little trophy's we have the big one.
  20. Hahaha, abreast. I think you should just make me an admin there, i regulate well.
  21. Here is an exerpt from a Carolina news channel "It doesn't sound anything like anything she would ever do even if she was drinking," said James Mexico, who grew up with Keathley. "Real surprising because I used to go to church with her and her grandparents all the time. I just can't picture her doing something like that at all. James Mexico? Could that be Marcus Vick's alias? Ron and Jim Mexico making their way across the nation.
  22. Its really hard to react to this story without making a pun. Had they just kept their mouths shut (no pun intended) then they would have been fine! Being a cheerleader for a NFL team, while cool I'm sure, is not enough to get you off any charges. Why not just keep quiet and go home?? What were they doing down there? I mean, not down there, but down in Tampa, ah forget it. Glad to see the Bucs weren't the only ones that got licked yesterday
  23. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) Come on, my Mom can name more than 4 Sox players, and she's far from an avid baseball fan. I second that, my mom knows prospects.
  24. They are holding on to anything that can make them feel positive. Filling up the ballpark, history, day games, a homeless guy, anything that makes them forget that the Sox are World Champs.
