  1. QUOTE(BDavisFutureHOF @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) I am specifically looking for Joe Buck calling the final out of the WS -- any helo would be appreciated :puke
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 05:43 PM) LMAO. GMTA!! hahaha, gotcha
  3. Yikes this thread has a mind of its own. Maybe I should throw this in........ Trade Garland for Delgado *scurries away*
  4. QUOTE(qwerty @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 05:35 PM) Hey, what happened to quickman? Sox winning the world series to much for him? maybe it was Willie Harris's hit
  5. QUOTE(JimH @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 05:34 PM) Highly likely. I hope I left you a good tip!!!!!!!!! Highly unlikey!!!
  6. QUOTE(JimH @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 05:30 PM) Great brewpub, love that place too. I forgot the names of all the bars in Oxford but I'm sure they're not too much different from when I was last there about 4 years ago. Oh Jim, you wouldnt even recognize it now. All the bars that were there when I graduated a couple of years back have changed. There are only a few that stayed the same. They also have a cold stone, Q-doba, starbucks etc goin on there. It truly is Naperville east. I wonder if I ever served you a beer in one of those places.
  7. QUOTE(JimH @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 05:27 PM) All the usual suspects, of course ... Mt. Adams Bar and Grill, Blind Lemon, Longworth Pavillion, and the great City View Tavern for a cheeseburger. And downtown on 8th St., Arnold's Bar and Grill, oldest saloon in Cincinnati. For breakfast, Camp Washington Chili on Colerain. I like Pavillion. Mt Adams bar and grill, I think we discussed this before, but they have the best damn burgers around. Before the game im sure I will be over at Hofbrauhaus in Newport. Also will make a trip back up 27 through my old college town as well.
  8. wow, Nuke made an appearence. I havent seen you on here in awhile man.
  9. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) Is it as much a bandwagon as it is reluctantly admitting that PKs price might be too high? That doesnt warrant the mention of Ross Gload, the black sheep of the White Sox organization.
  10. I just hope this Gload bandwagon ceases to exist in threads like this.
  11. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) Haha. I know I'm being too cocky. On purpose of course, because its high-school football. However, I hardly believe DGN is the favorite here, especially with one of the best teams in the country in 8A. Still the reigning champs though. I do believe we werent the favorite last year and rolled over everyone.
  12. QUOTE(JimH @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:40 PM) Agree. And then up to Mt. Adams after the game. What a great city Cincinnati is. We're doing Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. Sorry for all you OF sitters, I will be sitting in the midland tickets down close, but I will make it up to Mt adams afterwards. Where are you all going? I used to live in cinci ya know, one of my fav city's. Also I will enjoy some late night conies from skyline for sure!!
  13. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) A lot of people go there. I believe thats how they do it. They are one of the best football programs in the state. Just hopefully we'll not choke in the playoffs for once. Rice did win the Prep Bowl Championship Playoffs last year, so I guess we don't choke all the time. Rice takes on Stagg at Stagg tommorow. We'll cruise. 8-2 only ranked #3 in your bracket, im sure ownership is determined at this point. DGN is still the champ until someone beats them.
  14. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) Noooo.. that would be Soxy. True that. BTW, the hold music on the ticket rep line is awesome today. Big Frank highlights.
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:29 PM) No need for those.. Ross Gload lover......
  16. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:26 PM) He wasn't arguing Gload's capabilities. He was arguing the handling of Gload in our organization. KW and Ozzie don't want any part of Gload. It's been clear for awhile now. Jesus finally, I thought I was taking crazy pills.
  17. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:23 PM) I've watched them all year. And I still don't see why you are so sure he won't work. I simply don't agree. I think he's a real possibility, and one that could be successful. If you really want to just throw tons of money out there to get just any experienced DH-type, then you'll exhaust the money you want to keep this pitching staff intact for years to come. I personally would not be willing to make that sacrifice, unless (for the umpteenth time) we have neither Konerko or Thomas (and therefore, a giant hole in the middle of the lineup). Seriously, you think Gload has a chance of being on the white sox next year? This pitching staff is intact for several years to come. JC is the only one in danger of skipping town when his contract is up. Garland is in arbitration and will most likely get a multi year deal.
  18. QUOTE(bmags @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) i'm confident this production will be replaced, if not immediately at least by the 2006 offseason...I don't feel we need to repeat as get back to the playoffs, but i do feel we need to get ready for a nother run within 3 years...because after that i feel the window could be closed. If we are all advocating that we can just plug someone in 1B to replace PK. Then we have to make up production elsewhere. Who do we have that is under performing offensively. A-row for one then needs to be gone.
  19. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 03:16 PM) Well i prefer to have someone looking over my car during the game, especially around that neighborhood. So, that old guy sittin on a stool in the front of a lot with now fences is making you feel safe huh? The street is right next to the lot. Just as safe.
  20. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 03:23 PM) I stated my plan earlier. It depends on who is back and healthy... If: Konerko and Thomas both back and healthy, then there you have your 3-4 hitters. Maybe add Gload as the backup. If: Konerko and Thomas both not playing, then go get that high-priced FA for one spot, and give the other to Gload or Rogo or JD. Have you watched the White Sox at all this year? Are you familiar with this organization? If you are, then even mentioning that Gload is going to get a chance on this team will make you look unknowledgeable. Gload will never be mainstay on this roster, this is fact, deal with it. Rogo isnt ready for the big club, and may never be more than a backup. He just doesnt have the power and production for a 1B. So soon everyone forgets that paulie was our main HR and RBI guy and we are talking about replacing him with a freakin minor leaguer!!! please.
  21. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) Sometimes such things aren't clear at first glance. Like your posts. Our internal resources will not replace our best hitter.
  22. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) Daigle spent 25 games at AAA. Not enough time for his stats to mean much. But like I said, i didn't see him in person. You can call Gload whatever you'd like, prospect or not, but I still think he could be very good at 1B at the MLB level. With all three taking a shot, I think the chances of one doing at least as well offensively as Everett (and better defensively, but at 1st) are very, very good. Daigle isnt in our Organization anymore, give it up. He is no longer a prospect.
  23. DONT PARK IN THE LOTS. There is free street parking on the street just south east of the stadium. You are guaranteed a spot and its the same distance as the lots.
