  1. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) he got served? one of the worst i've ever seen.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) I screamed "you can dooooo itttt" to the tv also.. but I can't lie, I did have my doubts. Especially when he walked a couple of guys. Its ridiculous how many walks our bullpen gave up last night, but somehow we got through it. When I saw Mark in the pen, I knew it was over.
  3. Isnt there an article in there about AJP's obsessive compulsive habits as well?
  4. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) Jim's got a cuban ready to go... He wanted to smoke it at game 1.. I said ... save it for the finish line. Im a pretty dedicated cigar smoker. And I have a nice humidor that I keep mostly filled. Well at the beginning of sept I purchased 4 of my favorite cuban cigars Romeo Y Julieta No. 4. I smoked 1 when they won their division, I smoked 1 when they won the ALDS. I smoked one when they won the ALCS. And I have 1 left in my humidor. Lets just say I have my cutter and my lighter ready. I bought 5 bottles of Veuve from Binny's I have my Sox Jack from the season. And my 83 fisk that went 4-0 during the playoffs. Im ready.
  5. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) we were rocking out to O.A.R. :puke
  6. QUOTE(kevin57 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) I don't really blame the umps on that call. It's that stupid ballpark. There were no protests from the Sox bench, so replay wouldn't have helped. Forget the roof controversy! Have them install some kind of seats or basket or, hell, anything out there to help establish a legit HR. Seriously though, talk abot building a ball park modeled after someone's neighborhood. "Ok, so we are going to build a wall, and anything on this side of the line is a HR, and anything on the other side isnt." "Wait, couldnt we just make the wall so that the ball goes over it, and then its a homerun, wouldnt that be easier?" "No you idiot, then where would we put the train track?"
  7. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 10:30 AM) Another real test for the die hard is who already plans to call off work tomorrow so they can stay out all night celebrating. I already informed my boss that if they win it, the next day, whichever day that may be, I will not be coming in to work.
  8. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 10:07 AM) Ahh.. gotcha. I didn't expect them to know that anyway. Why on earth would they concern themselves with anything "feel good" about the Sox. :rolly Seriously, considering all the bad calls that went eh Stros way last night, there was almost no reaction. They were like "well, that wasnt the right call....And next lets take a look at the game summary..." Its funny though that while Garner is throwing chairs and their dugout looked like a funeral, our dugout was messing around and laughing much of the time.
  9. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 10:03 AM) They have been called the forgotten four since the start of the CS. And Blum referred to them as this when talking about them eating the lobster and shrimp at game 1 of the WS in an article yesterday. Yeah, but I am referring to last night when they were all holding up the number 4 in the dugout. None of the announcers seemed to notice, it was almost like they were signaling the 4th quarter. They even all went through the line after the game giving each other high 4's.... jerk
  10. My ex's were all cubs fans, my current is a huge sox fan, problem solved.
  11. QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) Yea it has. We were discussing them eating the lobster just yesterday at length in a thread. Keep up Rock.. i'll tell you where you can put that smiley PS, if you were talking about it yesterday, then the game hadnt happened yet!!!
  12. The tribune reported today that KW is working to solidify a multi year deal for Crede and AJ.
  13. Nobody on the radio, nobody on TV, nobody on this board. Nobody has mentioned the players last night celebrating while holding up the number 4. Willie was doing it, Widger was, everyone was holding up the number 4 in the late innings. And when Blum won the game for us, he walked to the dugout and everyone was giving high fives using the number 4. This is because the bench players were known as the forgotten 4 or the group 4 as they have been referred to on ESPN.com. They were all going crazy for the members of the 4 to be contributing and actually performing very well. Widge played well, Willie had a nice SB, Blum won the game, etc, etc. Many props. the four
  14. QUOTE(S720 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:36 AM) Who the hell complained after Kenny got Geoff Blum? No you are right, most of us thought he was the piece to push us over the edge....
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 09:28 AM) I guess you never saw Little Big League. RJ definitely got the save in that game. nice catch
  16. QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 08:15 AM) blah blah blah. garner's a bum. i remember him whining and b****ing for the cameras when oswalt flat out beaned crede too. nobody likes a sore loser, garner! only that piece of s*** Garner would get into a shouting match with Crazy Carl from dugout to dugout. A manager is not supposed to act that way, especially at an opposing player.
  17. Marte for Cintron huh? Meh, sounds ok, but I woul rather get a better piece. The guy usually kills us though.
  18. QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) is that supposed to be crack next to rock raines' picture?!? hahaha, i didnt make it, so I make no claims. Check out the Ralley Crede thread for the real culprit.
  19. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 04:43 PM) hes got a nasty fastball and big slow curve ball. But last time i checked he lost 12 this year. You can beat him. He throws his fastball in on righties alot, as it cuts when he throws it. He falls off the mound to his left which adds to the movement. He picks up alot of strikeouts and jams alot of batters this way. ESPN: Pitching With the amazing speed differential of his fastball and curve, Oswalt has long been expected to be among baseball's best pitchers. Last season, he seemed to put it all together, although a painful ribcage injury dogged him much of the year. Oswalt took cortisone and pain shots for the problem, never missed a start and won 12 of his last 14 decisions. He throws his imposing fastball at 96-97 MPH, then comes in with a curve in the 70s to strike hitters out, often making them look bad in the process. He also went to throwing his curve at different speeds last year, further confounding hitters. He improved his slider and used it more last season, and is developing a sneaky changeup. 20. QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) Even if he doesn't have a place in our loaded outfield, he could end up being another valuable trade chip. I still think that Either Sweeney or Anderson get moved, but thats my take. The odds are that at least one of these guys wont make it, so I think the problem will solve itself. But right now, Owens looks pretty cant miss.
  21. Tendencies huh? Thats actually a good idea for a thread, name other poster's tendencies, cause I dont think I have any.....
  22. QUOTE(Randar68 @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) Jerry Owens was named this season's first Venezuelan League player of the week. He is hitting 18 for 36 for a .500 average. I love him.
  23. QUOTE(furious_george @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) in case you haven't noticed, AJ, Everett and Rowand aren't exactly setting the world on fire at the plate either. In fact, this may be our achilles heal. These guys gotta pick it up - you can't depend on Konerko and Crede (let alone Pods) to bail out the team with HRs every game. 9-1
